Help flash game - destroy enemies by moving above them

Hello

I want to make a flash game where the aim of the game is to move some objects with your arrow keys.

When you move objects, I want them to die (disappear) but I don't know how to do this.

If anyone has answers help would be much appreciated!

Thank you

Sorry, my mistake. To check if an object on the stage has hit another, you can use hitTestObject() in AS2 or hitTest() in AS2. There are examples of the use of one in the online help.

  • Flash game man of snow - moving ojbects possible?

    Hello world

Have you ever met Flash games at Christmas time, where kids can build a snowman, by moving the graphics on the screen...

e.g. to move the balls of snow in place, add a carrot for the nose, move the eyes in place etc.

    something lke this:

    http://www.Flash-game.NET/game/1482/create-a-snowman.html

All the graphic elements are generally in an area of the game, and the children move just in place.  These are some Flash games and flash has the ability to do it,

does anyone know if Flash Catalyst is able to do this also?

    Thanks for any help anyone!

    Hi David,

Currently, drag and drop interactions cannot be created using Flash Catalyst alone.  But there are two ways you can use Flash Builder in association with Flash Catalyst to build an app like this:

    1. Prototype of the app in the catalyst, then import it in Builder and in are writing code, add the behavior of dragging parts.  Disadvantage: you will not be able to open the project in catalyst after edit it in Builder; to make further changes using catalyst, you will need to change the old copy of the project and then use generator to merge updates into the new copy.
    2. The next versions of the catalyst and Builder, code name "Panini" and "Burrito", allow you to create a custom in Builder behavior attribute the work to this behavior directly within catalyst (and continue in catalyst for editing afterwards).  Early versions overview of these products are currently available if you want to try this.

    Hope that helps!

  • NEED HELP WITH FLASH GAME!

    Hi all

I am brand new to the forums here and I need help!  I'm on a very tight schedule for a flash game project, and can't seem to understand my problem.

In my game of people shoot 4 different moving images and get points. Simple right? Although images is a question mark that can shoot people and when they do, I need flash to stop the timer game, a new popup window, the multiple choice question appear in the window and wait for the user to respond.

NOTE: I would also like to be able to customize the size and location of the pop-up window!  Also, the question must be random.  I have a list of questions in a word doc.

Then, if the answer to the question properly close window award 10 points and continue the game.  If you incorrectly answer the question, saying bad and then display the results of end game.

Right now I have it to where it opens a pop up in a web browser and askes the question there.  The question is chosen at random from a file called random.html.  But I don't want the game to work this way. I want the game to open the pop in flash.  Can anyone help?  Time is a few hours, SORRY for THE SHORT NOTICE!

    Kapelski

Everything to do with the movieclip is possible.  You can make sure the questions are changed dynamically whenever he appears... but it is a matter of design to be.  This has nothing to do with the popups... This is a clip that you can control the visibility of and what it contains.  In the Flash file will probably be easier to manage than a popup window outside, as far as the aspect programming and scoring goes.

Create a movieclip that has a textfield for the question, and all what he needs in the way of user interaction.  Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to give a detailed approach to design.  If you manage to create a shooting game, creating a movieclip which works as you describe should be a fairly simple task for you.

  • Using 'Help of Flash' to help make the flash game?

    Hello

I noticed the other day in Flash, the 'Flash help (F1)' under 'Help' is distributed under licence "Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 ported License.  The resources available on adobe.com in the Center of development of Flash is also registered with it.

    The status of the license:

    " You are free: .

    * except - to copy, distribute and transmit the work
    * to Remix - to adapt the work

    Under the following conditions:

Paternity - You must cite the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in a way that would suggest that they support you or approve your use of the work).

No commercial use - you may not use this work for commercial purposes.

" Sharing the same - if alter you, transform or inspired this work, you can distribute work resulting only under license or similar to this one."

    -CC license

I am trying to learn flash so that I can make flash games.  I intend to get their sponsored game portals and attach them to MochiAds - so, technically, it's commercial, Yes?

This means so I can't use 'Help of Flash' or publications in the adobe Flash Developer Center to learn how to use the actionscripts?

Of course I do not plan to outright copy - paste codes, but it would be nice if I could adapt and learn how things work.  Sometimes I'm stuck and I need a reference...  The last thing I want is to get into copyright problems.

Sorry if this post is irrelevant.  I tried to put in days customer support there, but I feel that they have ignored me.

    All tips are welcome.

    Thank you

    Jane

I'm not a copyright lawyer, but it does not seem plausible that you could copyright of basic information and wait then royalties if others use this basic information.

  • Flash game help!

I work as a graphic designer (mainly the print and web) for a large company. I have no formal training with flash, but I'm looking for a project to go with.  About 4 years ago my company out-source a Flash game before I was hired.

I was wondering how it would be difficult to take this flash game and 'Refresh' now. It was a driving game very simple with a few limits on collisions, and others. I want to take it and make it much prettier and try to make it work better...

Some advice... advice... Links to useful tutorials... or a head up I get in way over my head would be great!

    Thank you!!

Regarding the look more pleasant aspect goes, you probably arrived that, once you gain some familiarity with the file and the user of Flash interface.  For the best part of work, you can be climbing in over your head, especially if you have no programming experience.

Your best bet will be to make sure that you keep the original and only work from copies.  This way you can experiment without fear of losing what works now (to whatever degree it serves).

  • Windows 7 64 bit computer crashes when loading flash games or during video playback, forcing a manual reboot.

My computer freezes completely at random times while playing the flash games or watching videos. In this case the mouse and keyboard stop working. If this happens during the video with sound, it makes a noise very loud signal blocked by speakers that continues until I restart the computer. The only way to recover is to manually restart the computer with the reset button.

I tested different browsers to see if that was the problem, but it will happen in 3 I - IE, FF and Chrome.

I allows Windows to update itself at will and he has recently updated the video drivers and the wireless mouse and keyboard drivers, but this problem has occurred before and after these updates. There is an update that is still not well, and is an update of Java. I don't know how to fix it or if it even is related.

I checked the Windows error logs and Windows saves any errors before the Frost, so not obvious (to me) clues it. I tried searching for answers to my question, but forgive me, in this forum the language a bit above my head (Tip: simple answers, please).

    Hello

Do you have an error message after the failure of the update of Java?

    Try the following steps:

Step 1: Update the drivers for your chipset.

Also uninstall and reinstall the display adapter drivers.

    Follow these steps:
    a. open the Manager of devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and security, and then, under system, clicking Device Manager. If you are
you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    b. in the list of hardware categories, click on graphics cards and then double-click the device name.
    c. click on the driver tab and click on uninstall, and then follow the instructions. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide
    confirmation.
    d. restart the computer.

Refer to this link for help:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Step 2: Put the computer in a clean boot state.

Perform a clean boot on your computer to verify if a third-party program or service is the cause of the problem. With the help of the boot, we can isolate the program and disable it.

Refer to this article for more information:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Steps to perform a clean boot:
    a. click the ORB start on your desktop
    b. type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    c. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    d. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    e. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click Disable all.
    f. click OK.
    g. When prompted, click on restart.

NOTE: Please check that you start your computer in normal mode when you are finished troubleshooting. Followstep 7 of the article mentioned above.

  • Flash game display images

I noticed that lately I have experience of shifts in game flash animations. Would it be because of a faulty graphics card?

In addition, after noticing the game frozen images, I opened the CPU Panel and checked the video card. I soon perceived that the fan on the video card is not working.

I hope that anyone with this experience can give advice. Thank you.

    Hi Joshua001,

    a. you are trying to play games online, by chance?

    b. the issue of delay occur with all games?

The following article contains solutions to some common problems when playing games. For more information about problems with a specific game, see the documentation supplied with the game or go to the website of the Publisher of the game:

    Solve game problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-game-problems

If, indeed, the graphics of the (video) card is defective, that could be the reason for the shift with animations flash games.

In this case, the best option would be to contact the manufacturer of the graphics card for further assistance.

    I hope this helps.

  • Flash games shut down my computer

My PC... ASUS Board with a 64 bit 5200 + 2.7 mhz 4 gig of ram (2 X 2 gig sticks-associated)... new 585 Watt PSU... vid card a little old ATI Radeon 3600 512 MB and acer 23 ' flat screen... 8 usb ports... 4 built in and 4 on an expansion card.

The problem... We play these stupid games little online (Face Book), I think they are flash heavy... not really video games (you know... yo town or farm town) and after a few minutes, the computer stops without reason... the heatsink fan is work the vid card fan is working I have installed a new power supply and ram first thing (the power supply was two years old) but the problem continues... I installed a new case fan too. I use windows one care (much better than norton) anti-virus and malware bytes for an extra scan us are virus-free... Oh and the latest version of Flash.  Always close... only when we play these games... It's very hard on the HD file and swap for windows... eventually the computer will come from freeking all boots hard... because my wife made quite a few friends play these games, telling him to stop playing them is out of the question > it's a mystery... Any help out there?

See if a small program like this lets monitor you the possibility of problem of heat, just to be sure. Let it run while games are played and see what happens. Core Temp 0.99.5

You can try safe mode by choosing "enable video low resolution (640 x 480), then run the games (if they play) and see if the machine will turn off always.»

  • How to deal with several Android with Flash-> games of AIR ressolutions

    Hello

I have some Flash games that want to run on different Android devices. How then? I noticed in one of my games, I check "full screen" during the export, the playing surface does not all the available space on the screen. I guess it's because as the aspect ratio.

I saw this nice tutorial to solve this problem on Flex apps/games: http://gregsramblings.com/2010/05/06/scaling-an-adobe-air-application-to-fit-multiple-reso resolution netbooks /

Is there a similar solution for basic flash games?

    Thank you!

That article looks like it's oriented toward desktop applications, and he made sure the window is never larger than the original size.

You'll read, any minute now, that many people prepare for not to scale and then use the code layout to position the interface to look right and even to take note of the DPI of the device to ensure that the buttons are the right physical size. It is very good for utility-type applications, but if you have detailed and illustrated, background or any kind of art fixed bitmap, it may not be the right way to solve the problem.

The way that the problem is not to do a scaling at all, I leave that to Flash, but I spare content out of the edges of the scene, which will be on screens larger or largest.

The first time I used this approach I did the Flash scene to be 480 x 320 and had additional content above and below the stage, for a total of 360. This single file held exactly on the screen of the iPhone and the iPad in different aspect ratio. On the iPad, you would see the additional content.

That works very well if you put on the page for the larger device and one have additional content for devices less broad, but there is only a single narrower than the iPhone, the iPad device. So now, I spent the technical horizontally.

My internship is now 1024 x 768, and there are a lot of additional content on the left and right edges. I have enough here that it will always fill the screen on the larger device, which is the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

  • Flash game High Scores Board

    Hi all

I know that it is a topic that covers a lot because I have seen a ton of tutorials which show of the dfferent 1 million ways to create a High Council mark on a flash game.  So I decided to go out on a limb and pick a tutorial to try.  Well I tried 3 different ones now and have yet to get a High Council with my game scores.

    http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/games/How_to_c-Nick_Kuh-771/index.php

This is the link to the latest attempts to creat my high scores Board.  When I finished all the way the tutorial said it seemed that everything would work and then it just didn't.  After spending oh about 40 more hours trying to make a high scores Board I am getting very frustrated.  My game is scripted in AS2 and I have access to mysql and can implement unlimited databases.

Can someone help me please by sending an easy to follow tutorial will work with AS2?  I just like any type of help right now because I think that ALL my valid ideas would be ehausted.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Focus on using the LoadVars class rather than the loadVariables method.  Try searching Google using "AS2 LoadVars tutorial".  Here is a link that research...

  • Use of the processor in the Flash games

I blocked Flash Player for most websites, because of previous issues of CPU, including several ads and banners on the same page. Video clips stumble along, but take 100% of CPU resources. This isn't the issue, however. The problem is that simply doesn't work in a way that is useful to all. Games flash of a complexity that my old C64 since the beginning of the 1980s can smoothly handle seems to require more power of CPU that my PC can provide. While it is a bit unfair, because these Flash games are multiplayer and requires the use of network, this is another one. Several 3D with a much higher resolution of MMPORG play smoothly enough; Games with low resolution 2D race and character jump takes 100% of CPU, and it's still not enough to satisfy players Flash! It simply undermines my last ounce of faith in Adobe, especially when I see so many other similar problems. I urge Adobe to focus on this staff.

    Data sheet:

    Athlon XP 2800 GHz 2,075

    1 GB OF RAM

    GeForce FX5900

    Win XP with all updates

    Firefox 3.0.8

    Flash Player version 10,0,22,87

Recently, I uninstalled Flash Player, clensed HD and the Windows registry and reinstalled Flash Player. This had no effect.

The specs of my PC was not impressive for a long time, but still: I think he should beat the shit out of a C64. When he's not, I get excited.

If anyone can help me with this problem, I will be grateful.

The problem you described looks like it is related to these basic elements of bug. There are creative workaround solutions... but the cause seems to be built around pace handling Flash Player 10.
