Help getting started: switch 7841R FPGA

Hello

I'm a relatively inexperienced LabVIEW user with no experience with FPGA.  I'm looking to produce a simple FPGA VI as a first use of our 7841R.  Synchronize us multiple devices with a pulse generator and I also use the pulse generator to trigger our 7841R.  I was not able to find a simple example of how to do *.  Here's what I think I knew that day:

(1) create a while loop

(2) add a node FPGA of e/s to one of the digital input nodes (say, et0) (or maybe that should be a method of I/O?)

(3) .this, this is where it gets fuzzy... probably the I/O node produced some results that I can then use to trigger an event

(4) once triggered, change the voltage level on one of the nodes of analog output

Any help would be appreciated - especially pointing me to tutorials or examples.

Thank you!

See you soon,.

Tom

* I worked a tutorial than the FPGA to output a sinusoidal signal and that worked very well... but I was puzzled after a few hours of research about to understand the trigger.

Hello Tom,

Here's a first tutorial, by that you can pass:

http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/3261

This tutorial is the reverse (trigger something by a similar edge):

http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/3236

It is most useful to me (also on a custom analog triggering):

http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/6359

It shows how you can trigger a digital output based on the input analog value.

In your case, you'll just have to do the reverse:

Read a value digital and then based on this Scripture, something to an analog output.

If these tutorials don't help you long enough, then don't hesitate to give us a sign.

  • WebServices - need help getting started...

    Hi all

    I am fairly new to Web services and Coldfusion I could use some help getting started. Creating the Web service has already been made, so I need to create a new one, so that the part is already done.  The existing webservice is written in .NET and I need to consume using Coldfusion. I think I have all the information I need from the creator (s) in the various XML files. There are a few examples of applications in the .xml file format in the information that was given, as well as a wsdl.xml file. Of my reading on Coldfusion and Web services is that they are consumed by the...

    < cfinvoke webservice = "yada.wsdl" method = "use" returnvariable = "returnedVal" > "

    and send arguments through

    < cfinvokeargument

    to the Web service that returns the data.

    But t that's where I'm wrong... It seems I should use the wsdl.xml file to connect to the Web service... is that correct? I have to place the wsdl.xml outside the Web root in IIS?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    If you try to refer to this wsdl file:

    Directory containing wsdl.xml

    .../wwwroot/mydir/WSDL.Xml

    Then, you must use a parameter like this:

    method http://localhost/mydir/WSDL.xml"="mywsdlmethod"returnvar ="data">

    « ? WSDL"is a ColdFusion function that uses the ability of ColdFusion to generate a wsdl file dynamically on the fly from a SWC file that is configured to be a web service.

  • InDesign CC is great, but I still need help getting started

    Hello

    I started using Indesign CC and I am impressed by the functions it contains and which I use it some time.

    However, I find a few simple things difficult to do, most likely because I don't know enough (I read CS6 Indesign by S. Cohen) and this is the reason why I come here to help.

    (1) what should I do to make my permanent preferences (for example, units of measure, silver background, etc.), as it seems that when I do these choices they are only good for the paper I work with.

    (2) I'm having difficulties in creating, titles, headings and feet (I have to use tables for this?)

    (3) we know don't no how I can mark the entries to create a comprehensive index

    Thanks for your time, venerable Adobe users.

    Serge

    I will only talk about headers and footers from Salah has already said how to set your preferences for the new defaults and I do not indexing in my work.

    You asked if you use tables, and the answer is no, unless it makes sense to do it by the nature of the header or the footer. Headers and footers are normally set up on the master pages by adding blocks of appropriate text in positions them where you want these headers or footers appear. The master page objects appear on each page of your document is based on this basis. You can add text variables in executives who will find the style of text on the page in the document and insert it in the header or footer, as well as things like page number markers.

    Make sure what you do your frames large enough to accommodate the largest number or text string page you will encounter. Variables are a single character for purposes of formatting, and the text that they pick up will not break across lines, so you can wrap the text that accumulates on top of itself if the frame is too small. I'm not a fan of tables in general because I hate their formatting, so for a header or a footer, I'd probably use individual text blocks where you might think that multiple cells of a table of a line would be appropriate.

  • How to get started with Obj oriented AS3? (Flash help seems broken)

    OK, I won't be the noob who does not read the manual and ask stupid questions, but I'm stuck here. It's been long since I had no experience real flash (Flash 5 in depth) and a small Flash 8. But now, my work has led me in some flash work & I'm basically from scratch. I am trying to get just a simple SWF to load an external class and have the class retrun value of a method.

    I define

    package
    {
    public class Greeter
    {
    public function sayHello (): String
    {
    var host: String;
    greeting = "Hello World!";
    return of the vows;
    }
    }
    }

    in an .as file (which is located in the same directory as my .fla) then frame 1 of my time line, I have:

    var myGreeter:Greeter = new Greeter();
    mainText.text = myGreeter.sayHello("Bob");

    When I try and test the movie I get 2 errors:

    1046: type was not found or is not a constant of compilation: Greeter.

    Quote:
    Posted by: newsgroup user
    I get only one, which is the "Incorrect number of arguments. EXPECTED
    no more 0,' and the reason for this is that the sayHello() method
    is not configured to receive all parameters.

    Under most of the cases I would have been skeptical of the passage of an argument when nothing is defined, but I thought I had heard (way back to AS 2) AS being based on some sort of JavaScript rules so I thought maybe that didn't matter. And unfortunately, this error was not my fault for typing, its actually printed this way in the Flash help (see: getting started with ActionScript > example: creating a basic application).

    We appreciate that clarification, even if I didn't get the error you mentioned. The compiler has never had that long before he released on bail.

    2. you must register the Greeter Greeter.as class file

    OK, this has proved be the problem... Just on a hunch, I decided to look into the matter. Save the file as [greeter.as/i] errors but off [ Greeter.as/i] does not work. Flash is really sensitive with regard to file names? In any case, I'm a little better. Thank you very much.

    Welcome to the forums and in the world of the Oracle database.

    Because you referenced "Getting Started", we know that you have already found and began to read the relevant documentation. Good for you! A surprising number of people skip "reading literature" - If you are already off the coast a good start.

    Oracle XE and APEX take care of some typical details of administration for you. In the default of Oracle XE installation, your SID will be "XE".
    The default database listening port is 1521. Knowing this, you can recognize the sections in "Getting Started" when they are used in establishing a connection to the database.

    In Oracle, a "database" is a set of files, and an "instance" is a set of structures of memory and process/service running on a host. XE is your body in this case, that interacts with the database created during the installation. In a database instance, "diagrams" represent the two users and objects held by the users of the database (tables, views, PL/SQL, etc.). 'schema' and 'user' are somewhat synonymous in Oracle.

    After "Getting Started", I suggest you continue on the links on the page of Documentation XE: "2 day s/n", then "2 day Developer's Guide. After that if one of the developer of the specific language Guides apply, you can look at those.

    Aqua (I'm not familiar with this tool personally) it takes probably the SID (XE) Port (1521) and a name of user and password... This could be the user name of scheme / you see in the APEX, or could be another user that you create with the appropriate privileges in your data base (2 day s/n will explain everything you need to create another user and assign privileges.)

  • The opening of the window to get started off the screen

    Hello

    I recently acquired a second display for my MacBook Pro, so when I have both connected displays and open Photoshop (on each screen) putting road window opens off the screen so I can't close it (see screenshot below). How can I fix it?

    Right now I have to open Photoshop with my second offline screen, close the window get started, then plug my second monitor.

    Thanks for your help in advance!

    When you switch from Windows to the other display screens in Photoshop Photoshop close to this State Photoshop remembers where you position palette, picture windows and dialogue.  If you restart Photoshop and the other views are not available. Photoshop can open windows off the screen or partially off the screen.  At least seem be the way to a working windows.  Windows operating system provides means for moving and sizing of these windows.  Mac may also have options.

  • HOW can I remove my Bookmarks Toolbar Firefox's "Getting Started" link? It wastes space and seems invulnerable to the attempted abductions.

    From the outset, I am on a MacBook Air, running Yosemite & the most recent Firefox Help. If your only interest in my question is for bash Macs, then (yawn) I'm not interested. If your interest is to help sincerely, then you have my interest as well:

    I'm stuck with a "Getting Started" Firefox link as the first 'signet' (left) on my bookmarks bar, I really want to delete: I was in the Apple computers (from the Apple] [e) & online since the mid-80s, so I'm hardly a naif in the digital world or Firefox newbie , so having a "Getting Started" link to life is ridiculous, AND I really need the space to accommodate MY choice! Then...

    I tried all ways recommended to delete unwanted bookmarks - Firefox, BUT when I pull down the "Show all bookmarks" command of bookmarks in the Menu bar, there is NO such thing as the "Getting Started" link, so I can't delete it there. I've even linked by clicking and dragging it out of the toolbar, but it does not (nor made more by dragging to the trash. Then, someone has idea of this insurgent link?

    You can try this?

    1. Open the Bookmarks Manager. In what is the Apple menu icon or the menu bar, click bookmarks > show all bookmarks.
    2. In the search bar search Favorites, type getting started.
    3. Delete the bookmark that opens.

    Hi ricklord303,

    You should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.

    There are the steps in this article to reset your preferences on the default home page. I would try everything first to clear all strangeness. If it works, you can try to set your homepage again to your personal preferences.

    If this does not work you should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle.

    Hope this helps!

  • Modification of the program of "Getting Started" sample to acquire data of multiple frequencies

    Dear members,

    I am very new to the LabVIEW and worked (mainly through aid of Google) to change one of the samples included with LabVIEW 2010 programs to suit my purpose.

    Essentially, the "Getting Started" program that comes with the LabVIEW 2008 works in the following way

    1. The user runs the program
    2. The user sets the frequency to whatever is needed
    3. User presses the "Trigger" button on the front that gives the values of the two boxes on the front panel
    4. Program stops automatically

    I modified in the following way

    1. I enter the "recurrence interval" and the "maximum rate" in a table to calculate the number of iterations
    2. I then pass the frequency required in the 'constant' through dissociation TI (where I was setting at the start manually the frequency)
    3. From there, the program runs exactly as before
    4. I wrapped the existing set of block diagram in a loop 'For' to repeat several times, with a different frequency every time
    5. Then, I finally write measures in a worksheet in addition to posting on the "façade".

    The problem that I face is that the frequency is not updated in the program. For example, if the last frequency used on the parser a 20 Hz, the program will be to take measures against the same 20 Hz rather than against the correct frequencies several times.

    So, in the spreadsheet I created, I get 1 kHz, 2 kHz... 10 kHz, but the values of impedance values recorded against them were indeed all taken against 20 Hz (or how often I last used by using the non-modified program).

    I suspect that the frequency is updated whenever the user presses the button "Trigger", but since I took this, for purposes of automation and replaced by a constant static in the 'real', it could cause problems. I don't know if this is definitely the problem, but even if this is the case, I can't find a way around it.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated as this provides a bottleneck in my project.

    Thank you
