Help! installed at the factory lost programs after the failure of the hard drive!

Hello
We run windows Vista Edition 32-bit home premium.  Installed at the factory we have Microsoft works and many options, and additional games. After we have made of our hard drive wiping and a clean install of windows Vista again these elements did not return to the top... We have done this before and it was something we had to do to get these things once again, but I forgot what it was.

We have no shadow on our hard drive... we have removed all the shadow copies and all the windows of OLD files, etc... We needed a drive completely clean.
Can someone please tell me how to restore the other options?

Also since the reinstallation of Vista we have many games that once installed so see the as installed in the control panel in Add Remove programs but are not of anywhere in the computer in the list of programs or in a search?

Thank you
Wisfamily

Hello WisFamily,

Thanks for posting on the forums.

Quick questions, did you use a Windows Vista DVD to perform a clean installation of Vista? You have a set of disks of restoration of the manufacturer of your computer or you have separate disks for Vista, Applications and drivers etc. ?  You've probably used your before restore disks to restore your computer to factory settings where it will be wipe your drive and perform a clean installation of Vista with your applications. Please check the disk set you have and check with the manufacturer on how to perform a full restore of your system.

Hope that helps, please post back and we do know.

My previous version of windows (which is already installed on the hard drive) will erase if I boot from a bootable USB. Please help me!

When you upgrade to 8.1 Windows it will replace your Windows 8.0. The only way I know to have both is to buy a copy of Windows 8.1 and install on another partition or drive.  Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

  • This disc is installed in the hard drive the external USB PX1394E - 3 50?

    Hello

    I think to buy an external 500 GB USB HDD PX1394E - 3 50.
Unfortunately, information about this product on the Toshiba site is very
    sparse.

Is anyone know, what is the exact type and/or manufacturer of the installed
    by car?

    Thank you

    Wolf

    Hi Wolf

Please don't be crazy about me, but your question is a bit funny to me. This HARD drive is described as TOSHIBA external 500 GB drive HARD 7200 RPM USB 3, 5Zoll 8 MB of cache. I don't really know what information you expect. Perhaps the name of screws and cable producer?

It is product Toshiba and Toshiba is responsible for support and warranty. When you buy an LCD TV do you really believe that the LCD on each TV is made by the manufacturer of TV? I don't believe that, but there is no info about it. Because of this, we cannot write very sparse information.

You may be lucky and someone will open the aluminum case and give you good info, but I would not be surprised if the HARD drive is made by. Toshiba, of course.

  • Need help to remove the hard drive from a Satellite Pro M10

Hi, a good will would point me in the right direction. I am trying to remove the HD from a satellite pro M10.
I discovered the net without success.

A diagram with being usefully etc.

    kind regards J

    Hello

I can't give you a diagram or something, but I can give an indication to take a look on the front left side of your machine. On this corner of the left side under the volume control is a small blanket where the HARD drive is in. You need only to unscrew the 2 screws that are accessible when you turn on your machine and and look at the bottom of your machine. Do you know what I mean?

When you remove these 2 screws, you need to remove the HARD drive by taking some screwdriver flat-blade and paste between the disc cover and HARD case. Then carefully remove the cover of the HARD drive and you can recover the HARD drive with the cover and exchange it.

Voila, your hard drive West. It s is not difficult at all.

But if you still have some questions then request.

  • slow startup of the host VMWare ESXi 5.5 when installed on the hard drive internal

We have some servers Dell R720 with 256G RAM and 2 6core Procs.  When I install ESXi client for internal hard drives (mirrored array) it takes literally more than 5 minutes to start.  I can watch the vmware boot process crawl slowly the progress bar on the screen in "recovery" mode before moving on to the substantive start-up procedure yellow.

Why is this slow process?  Why a hard drive inside is install using syslinux? (it's the first thing that shows on the display).  If I had to guess, I would say that the only facility to support runs of fat32 on a USB flash drive and the same hard drive installs use this same process to start.  Am I wrong?

I'm late to the party, but we have been affected by this issue. The solution is a updated internally perc firmware.

  • HP Pavilion g7-1167, which is needed to replace the hard drive

In fact, I have a few questions.

First of all, I was streaming How I Met Your Mother online when a box appeared and gave a kind of message (I don't remember now). He was just sitting there, so I restarted the computer. After the reboot, the computer would not go beyond the screen "start wondows. I ran a dignostic and it says that the short test failed. I then ran a diagnostic in the bios and it ran the short test, he failed, then he ran about 5% of the test long then stopped and said "hard drive full 1."

After looking online, I think it's a sign that it crashes. I already ordered the new hard drive and the kit at HP.

But now I need to know how to get all my info out of it. My brother has an external hard drive that I can use, but I don't know if it will work.

In addition, once I have installed the new hard drive I think I need to re - install windows and something else? Do I have to re - install and how do I do that if I don't have the disks? Can I do a recovery on that disk now, or is it too late? If so, how do I?

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about computers, so any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello

First of all, about your existing data, here are some options that you can try.

    1. one possible way to try to recover your files from a disk non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data even a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/use-Ubuntu-Live-CD-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-Windo...

2 another option would be to remove the drive HARD, place it in an external enclosure - is an example of the link below - connect to another PC and see if you can access your files.

Regarding the reinstallation of the operating system on the new drive, I don't think that you will be able to create a viable together your disc recovery disc HARD existing, but you can order a set of replacement of the HP recovery discs using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

Here another thread about the installation of the SATA drivers!
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=26040

You must include the * Intel Matrix Storage Manager * during the XP installation process.
As far as I know you have to press the F6 key to include the external USB FDD drive driver.
Once you have included the SATA driver * DON T format the drive HARD * or create all partitions because that would erase the included driver!

Another possibility to include the SATA drivers is the use of the * software to nLite.
By using this software, you could include the SATA driver in the new created XP CD.
And then you could boot from the new CD.

    > no initialization of SPARCFichiers of hard disk
    > can not load hard drive
    > Insert systemdisk and press a key

This error message appears because you didn't boot from the bootable CD and/or the operating system has not been installed on the HARD drive and the laptop I wanted to boot from the HARD drive.

  • Limits of the hard drive?

Hello! I'm new to the site, please bear with me. I have a question on 2 computers and 1 hard disk. Computer # 1: Presario S6300NX; originally with 512 MB of memory and 120 GB hard drive ATA parallel; a currently 1 GB of memory and installed a second hard drive 80 GB Parallel ATA. Computer #2: Presario SR1315CL; originally with 512 MB of memory and 160 GB hard drive ATA parallel; currently has 2 GB of memory and a 320 GB SATA hard drive installed. The hard drive in question is a Western Digital 500 GB SATA. Two of these computers would argue that hard drive? I can't find a coherent response to the question of the limits of the hard drive.

AMM, since your computers were made in 2003/2004, the SATA ports will be first-generation (1.5Gbit / s).  I think that the hard drive will work, but it will not perform up to his capabilities (3 Gbps).

  • ThinkPad R60 cannot install Windows XP After erasing the HARD drive using the lenovo diagnostic utility

WinXP pro Setup cannot find that any installed HARD disk so cannot install windows. Unfortunately after many attempts to use rescue and recovery to restore the factory settings and for some reason constantly default... After leaving another utility popped up giving me the opportunity to erase the HARD drive and so I did... After fact as well and all I had was a blank screen, no windows more or no matter what utility to reinstall windows, then I used my winxp pro installation CD, but the program installation would continue not after a certain point by saying that the installation did not find any HARD disk installed. followed by "ensure that any disk HARD r turned on and correctly connected, and that no matter what material associated drive configured correctly, this may involve running a manufacturer provided diagnostic or Setup program. Clearly it took me by surprise. What was supposed to be a cut to white erase and reinstall now me baffled and angry. Formats the HDD of the solution? If so why didn't not the usefulness of lenovo do... If not, what is the problem? Someone help pls

    Welcome to the forum!

Go into the BIOS (F1 at startup), set the "compatible" SATA mode (NO AHCI), then press F10 to save and exit, and you should be all set.

    Good luck.

  • System Restore to factory settings after replacing the hard drive?

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre A52, which recently required a change of hard disk and the removal of a defective RAM 1 GB stick. When I bought my computer, it came with Windows XP Pro and the new hard drive that the updated computer has Windows XP Pro, but it seems to be missing a large part of the software (drivers and programs) that originally came with the computer, and even if I downloaded and installed most of them since the Lenovo Web site There are still some problems related to software that I can't fix. Ideally, I'd like to go back just to restore the system to the factory settings using the ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery program, but I don't know if it will work. All programs and the necessary drivers will be installed again, even if my current hard drive is not 'knows' thereon? I need to get a Windows XP Pro installation CD, if I want to keep my operating system? Also, is it important that my current hard drive is half the previous, or that I now have half as much RAM?

    Thank you

After replacing the hard drive, the only way to restore it to the State of the plant is using the Lenovo installation diskettes. You can also ask if Lenovo has a solution to your problem without having to reinstall Windows.

You can download Lenovo drivers if they are not included on the installation disk. The size of your hard drive does not matter.

  • Windows XP cannot be installed on Satellite A30 after replacing the hard drive

    Hello
you have a problem with my satellite A30 - hard drive has been corrupted (due to accumulation of dust on the cpu!) and I replaced it with a 100 GB hard drive.
Tried the 'recovery cds', but get an error message 'error #1537 file greater than 4 billion number' and recovery has been abandoned halfway after inserting the third cd. The XP Home operating system does not install completely. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much for your help, has soon
    NJ

    Hello

already tried the recovery process more then once? If so, the error appears at the place of installation? You said that you have installed a new hard drive but actually you have formatted the hard drive before you perform a full restore? That would be really helpful, sometimes recovery is suspended because the disk formatted or partitioned before luckily.

You should really try. One way would be to use the "UBCD4Win' which is a Windows Live CD with really good tools. Format your hard drive with this CD and retry the recovery. Maybe it works...

    Here´s the link to the CD "UBCD4WIn": www.ubcd4win.com ".
