HELP MEEE Hp Pavilion dv4000

Hi all the 1st sorry for my lang, 2nd Hi all

I have a problem im know not in which no im a /stupid uninformed or just can't do things!

Its about the dv400 WI FI, so first of all I don't know wich exacly drivers for, second eaven for drivers, I still cannot get Wi fi with this laptop
I read a lot of things, but I do not understand what I have to buy and other device Wi fi as antena and etc or what cos I have a button of Wirrles which, from 2 weeks, has no flash 1 time, cos I can't do things!

Please explain to me as on silly with simple and many words that I do get a Wi - fi network with this laptop HELP ME PLEAE!

Thanks in advance!

Vromos,

So far, it seems that you guess correctly and your laptop doesn't have a built-in wifi.  Please note that "Ethernet" means in this case * wired * network.  Where it says "Ethernet LAN 10/100 integrated", they are referring to the RJ-45 Jack, built on the side of the laptop.  Buy a USB wireless adapter would be a very good solution for you.  Yes, they are available at roughly the size of a flash memory drive.  In the United States, you can get decent ones for $10 / $20.  Don't know how they would be in Euros.

I doubt that's what you want to hear.  Comfort in the fact that most of the people posting here are looking for ways out of bad problems.  Take a look at my posts for the last few days and you will see that I had to wipe and reinstall my entire hard drive from scratch.

Good luck to you.  And you don't be curious and ask questions!

I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV4000, on what I'm trying to install Ubuntu.

The bios is password protected, and I can't get in.

After trying 3 times, the bios screen responds with system disabled with code 10879.

I tried a few other passwords, etc., but none of them worked.

  • HP Pavilion dv4000 CPU Upgrade

I get a HP Pavilion dv4000 laptop an Intel Pentium M 725 / 1.6 GHz I want to know is can I replace it with a 2 GHz processor? As you can do with DV6000 and DV9000 laptops?

If I can what would I look like part number

    Thank you

    Todd

Yes, there is a compatible 2 ghz processor for this laptop. Actually a 2.13 ghz CPU

    Your manual

396700 001 is the part number.

    $13.50 shipped to Illinois:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Pentium-M-Dothan-770-2-13G-2m-533Mhz-laptop-processor-CPU-SL7SL-no-FRU-/121387953321?PT=CPUs&hash=item1c43492ca9

It is always a 32-bit core processor so don't expect great things not but 1.6 to 2.13 ghz will be noticeable.

  • Pavilion Dv4000: Windows 7 wireless driver help!

Guys, I really need your figureing helps it to...

My friends machine needed some TLC... so I formatted and reinstalled the Windows 7 operating system.

I went to the HP support for pilots page and there are only drivers XP Win.

In "Device Manager", it shows the following drivers requiring.

    Mass storage controller
    Multimedia Audio Controller
    Network controller
    Video controller

    The problem...

I simply can't the wireless to work for love nor money!

I downloaded and installed (a) different drivers for the wireless device. When they have been installed successfully, I'm supposed to be able to see a network to connect to diffuse all SSID wireless & Pick-up. I could not make it work! It worked once then stopped working again after it restarts as if this isn't retatining the driver for the wireless card. its really weird!

    Performed troubleshooting.

    • Downloaded the drivers for the wireless card and run them in compatibility mode (Win XP SP3) & installed.
    • Rebooted the machine. and the Wi - fi icon beside the clock has a red x through it, as it that the device is not enabled.
    • verified that the wifi was enabled. (what it was)
    • check that the pilot has been allowed within 'Device Manager' (it's still) drivers Displaying the "Intel 2200BG.
    • but still the Wifi symbol in the taskbar shows Red Cross or disabled marker on it.
    • Tried to install other Wifi drivers for the device of Intel 2200BG from other sites, including Intel. Restart, charges the driver installation (after removing the previous version) still nothing! same thing!
    • Tried to use the Intel utility to find the update and install the Wireless driver. (again same result).

It seems that Windows 7 accepts the driver Intel Pro / Wireless 2200BG, but somehow somewhere to turn off the device in Windows 7.  How does it can disable a device but see that the device is installed and works unless you are a doubtful driver?

Somehow, I managed to make it work for a while and connected to my wireless router. not a problem, then once the machine has been rebooted im at square one again!

thinking that might be something wrong with the registry systems or material etc... I then

    • Formatted the hard drive again for the 2nd time.
    • Re-installed the card WiFi on the laptop, checked the connections were seated correctly
    • re-installed the operating system Windows 7 again.
    • before applying any other drivers on the system I tried to reinstall the driver from the HP website (just to remove it may be a conflict driver with another thing. yet once always the same thing.

I spent hours on it now... and im at the point where I'm ready to run my friends laptop out the window and get extremely violent with her! I never met this before all the time, I played with computers. so I need someone to point out where im going wrong here. It's seriously making me crazy!

I have attached a picture of this post, I hope that's clear enough for you to see that bar Wi - Fi symbol and the pilot agreed to "Device Manager".

If anyone knows what drivers I can use for the rest of the devices, Audio, video (especially video and Wifi) and mass storage device would be much appreciated. There is still plenty of life in the old courbine of a machine and will make my boyfriend a good turn.
    • Someone please enlighten us on that until I lose the will to live!
    • Thanks in advance.

      Street

    You are the very welcome.

I see that the multimedia audio controller device has been installed and that means you should have sound there.

I already give you the driver for the mass storage controller (this is the card reader).

    Yes this is useful.

The graphics in this model is not quite able to market Vista or W7.  Quite capable, I mean he can't run Windows Aero.

There is that one driver in the world that has any chance of working for the graphics, it's this one... After installing this driver, you will be able to change the screen resolution and graphics acceleration is enabled.

    You must install it manually.

Download and run this driver.  You will probably get an error not supported operating system.

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=447304 & swItemId = ob_47264_1 & swEnvOid = 2096

    Conclusion of any windows error.

Go to Device Manager and click on the video controller requiring driver.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and find the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

Reboot and the graphics should work just fine, but not Aero.
