  • Recent changes to your computer
  • What you have already tried to solve the problem

  You need a program on your system to open these documents (file types), and the program must be associated with the file type. Go to start / Default programs / associate a file or Protocol with a program and scroll down to the types of files of these documents.  Can the default program open this type of file or the file type is same?  If this isn't the case, you will need to install a software that can read and open possibly work with the types of files in question.  Exactly which types of files you can not read (what are their extensions - the three digit after the name of the file identifier). ?  If you do not see the extension, go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / View / and uncheck Hide extensions of known and then file types try to look at the files again.

  Please post back with results or if you have other issues (as may have answered your question).

  Answering my own question here, but if anyone else has this problem, try to hold Cmd-Opt-Shift when launching Bridge and choose Cache Purge. For some reason any purge the cache it worked for me vs go to Preferences.

  Check the following:
  1) go to Brother Web site and check you have the latest Windows 7 drivers/software for your Brother model.
  (2) try to run in Compatibility Mode. If your Brother model is compatible with Windows XP, then choose XP or the brother Software was written for any operating system.
  (3) when you install the setup.exe or .msi file, right click and select "run as Administrator".

  If please reply back and let us know if none of the suggestions helped solve your problem.

If you have an administrator account, you can probably change the printer properties. Otherwise, you must obtain permission to manage the printer before you can change the properties of the printer.

When I went to XP apparently, I bought a version upgrade, not the full version. Is it possible to get a cd of microsoft, or download a file, which can help get this another hard drive mounting correctly?
