HELP Please with Windows Mail

I tried for 5 hours now to configure Windows Mail on my laptop.  I contacted windows chat support and they were no help.  I would like to see the email in my AOL email account in my mailbox Windows.

According to AOL:

'The incoming (POP) mail server address's imap.aol.com and imap.aim.com for IMAP and pop.aol.com or pop.aim.com for POP3.

The address of the outgoing (SMTP) mail server is smtp.aol.com or smtp.aim.com, port: 587. »

In Windows Mail, I clicked on the accounts and entering, I pasted "pop.aol.com" so leaving, I pasted "smtp.aol.com".  Then, I went to properties and under the advance of the tap which is written "outgoing (SMTP) mail:" I typed "587".

My AOL emails are coming thanks to perfect, but when I try to send an email through Windows Mail I get the following error message:

"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting are may not be wrong for your e-mail [SMTP] Server outgoing. To resolve this issue, go to help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail" and read the section "I have problems sending e-mail". If you need help to determine the appropriate server settings, contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was ' * address email is removed from the privacy *'. ' Subject 'in progress test', account: 'pop.aol.com', server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, server response: 553 5.7.1 <*** email="" address="" is="" removed="" for="" privacy="" ***="">: denied sender address: not connected ', Port: 587, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 553, error number: 0x800CCC79.

I don't know what else to do!  Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you. Heather

    Hello!

    Thanks for the post.

This isn't the exact error message, PS paste the entire error message, but this does not mean that we have no idea.

This above error message is perhaps due to Norton, I say Norton because I saw it with Norton. Quite possible that you use another Antivirus/Firewall. Try to disable the firewall/AV & see if this work. Alternatively, try to uninstall the security software & then give it a shot.

Hope it would help, do not hesitate to come back with the exact error code.

I have Vista Home Edition with Windows Mail.  After having a problem with my posts a few weeks ago (which is resolved) whenever I open it Windows mail an additional set of vacuum retrieved message folders appear.  I now have dozens of repeated games.  Just delete them in the local file lists only removes them until I have reopen Windows Mail.  Does anyone know how I can delete them?  Please help me.

    Salvation Jane 2,.

There are few options that you might want to try to solve the problem.

Reset Windows Mail, wait for it to complete the recovery process
    Go to Tools Options-->
On the Advanced tab, click Maintenance
Click the clear now button and click Reset
In addition, check the box where it says compact the database..., give the number 1.
    Close and restart Windows Mail
Go back and check the option Compact back to about 50 races.

  • Jerky with Windows Mail scroll wheel

Original title: scroll wheel Windows Mail

    Dear Sir.
Wheel scrolling jerky with Windows mail. Kindly help.
    Kind regards
    Raymond Ricaud

    Hello

    1. is the problem of scrolling limited to Windows Mail or any other application?
2 what is a wired or a wireless mouse?
    3. What is the serial number and model of the mouse?

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.
Method 1: Check the settings of the mouse wheel. Follow these steps.
    a. click the Start button.
    b. type main.cpl in the start search box and press enter.
Properties of the mouse window will open.
    c. now, click on the tab of the wheel .
    d. change the premium rate numbers scroll and check if it helps.

Method 2: If you are facing the issue only with Windows Mail, I suggest to create a new user account and check.

If the problem is resolved in the new user account, this means that the old user profile is damaged. Here is the link to repair a user account damaged: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Since IE9 download, I had problems with Windows Mail.  Like others, I lost the box that says, "some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer.  Click here to download the images. "With my mail, I'm able to get a preview of the e-mail for 60 seconds before it actually opens and this is where the above 'box' appeared.  Now when I preview the email, this box is not there and I don't see one of the photos.  If I open the electronic mail, the box is there and I can click on one to see all the pictures.  The problem/question for me is I don't want to open the email to see all the pictures: I want to display them in preview mode, so I know what I'm opening!  Help!

This kind of behavior is very often due to antivirus.  You are using.  If its McAfee or Norton get rid of them completely.   There are others who are also incompatible.  Everything you try, make sure that the analysis of e-mail is disabled.   You can also try to repair the database and see if that helps (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  And see also www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

  • Problem send and receive e-mail with Windows Mail

For two days, my Windows Mail service ceased to send or receive e-mail addresses. My internet service provider is Comcast. A Comcast tech checked the problem and determined that the problem is with Windows Mail and not Comcast. Any ideas on how to get the system in place and work?  When I click send/receive in Mail the screen shows 'Permission', request my username and password (that I have provide) eventually receive the following error messageAccount: "mail.comcast.net", server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR name username/password invalid ', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

Here is the answer.  Log in to Windows mail.  Click on tools.  Access accounts.  Click on your username.  Go to properties.   Click on the box under servers, click the box my server requires a secure outgoing connection. This must be a POP3 connection.  Under incoming mail must say: mail.comcast.net.  Under outgoing mail it should say: smtp.comcast.net go to the Advanced tab, your outgoing mail must be 587 & your incoming mail must be 110.  None of the boxes requiring sure connectrion must be verified on the Advanced tab.  On the general tab, you must enter your mind to email Comcast.  On the Server tab, incoming mail, you must enter your username & password.  Also, not everyone at Comcast knows what is happening.  I had to tell me that my email problem was caused by a virus, when in fact, it is because their system was down.  They had me go to Microsoft.com download a virus removal toll which has led in turn to make me lose my all the Windows operating system.

When you try to use a Windows Live e-mail account or a different Web-based e-mail account in Windows Mail, you cannot send e-mail messages?

Windows Mail supports more HTTP servers that are used by Hotmail and other e-mail providers such as AOL mail, Google mail, Yahoo! mail Web.

To resolve your problem, use Windows Live Mail instead of Windows Mail.

Windows Live Mail works with popular Web-based e-mail services such as Hotmail, AOL mail, Google mail, and Yahoo! mail. Windows Live Mail is designed to configure automatically many popular e-mail services.

Windows Mail also supports the types of Server Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP).

Download of an update "Windows Live Mail" should solve your problem.
