  Well it seems that you have enabled a parallel query on table TRND_UPC_FV2_XAOC, but forgot to enable parallel DML as well. So the FTS is happening in parallel, but DELETE itself is treated in a unique way (check the position of the COORDINATOR PX implementation plan). If the parallel/DML query is not useful (or wanted to) here, because of the column volume 11 and 12 represent the data of the minority of the values MRKT_KEY and you have a valid and appropriate index for it - check the parallelism setting. However, we are already looking at the crystal ball.

  Depends on. Did you select immediately remove or secure erase option. The latter could easily take hours to days depending on the size of the user's Home folder. Of course, still a base deletion can take some time for a large number of files. Be patient. If ever completed, and then try to shut down the computer and restart. Then do an Empty Trash by CTRL - or RIGHT click on the Recycle Bin and selecting this option.

  Please help if possible.  Tomorrow will be the day 3 of this madness maddening, ridiculous.

  Well, it's a week or so later, here is what happened: the hard drive was dead along... Well well... According to the pc repair shop I ended up taking to.  That is why no troubleshooting worked.

  So THANKS to those who have tried to help me, but it was ultimately useless in the end.

  Computers are too sensitive if you ask me.  Certainly did not get my money's worth out of it.
