How to back up my computer by using a password to connect?

I am running Vista.  When I put the computer several years ago, it has been implemented to go right to the desktop.  I don't even know if there is a password is automatically disabled.  How will I know if it exists and if so, how do I need temporarily a password to get into my system.  Or if there is no password set in place, how do I set up a?

the new account to access your old account, then change its password. Then
You can set it to require a password.

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. THE ADMIN

  • How can I get my computer to use my second drive?

I went to my computer and saw that I have 2 hard drives, each written that they have about 70 GB. Is this really true I have 140 GB in total? If so, how can I get my computer to use my other drive. I'm sorry if I wrote it in the wrong section.

    Hello Mathieu,

Yes, there is a way, but there are "attacking" the drive so that the computer knows where it is. Who also encourages you to understand how you want to use the drive. Most people put their operating system and programs on a disk, the disk 'C' (C:\BootDrive would be an example) and to put their data on a second disk, the disk "D" files (D:\DataDrive would be an example).

Once you've got it organized on paper (or in your head), to be labelled and / or format the drive. You can use the mechanism in the post following blue microwave, or you can use the freeware Aomei Partition Assistant application, which will be the ID and label and / or format your drive, according to what is needed. Download the app here: http://download.cnet.com/AOMEI-Partition-Assistant-Standard-Edition/3000-18512_4-75118871.html?tag=mncol;1 (only use the Direct download link).

Once installed, you select the drive in question and select Properties, which will tell you the status of your order and options to your need to work with her. For example, if its not allocated, you will need to return it, format it and assign a drive letter. Or he may have already assigned a drive letter and just need to be formatted to be used. Or it may be already in. The program will tell you what you have and what you need to do as your next step.

Let me know what instructions to proceed to the next step.

  • After running System Restore my computer asks for a password when connecting and I don't remember the password.

I am running Vista Home Premium on a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305.  I ran the system restore due to a problem of "Internet Explorer cannot display the website" (by Microsoft troubleshooting guide for this problem) and selected restore point earlier.  Now the computer asks for a password that I don't remember.  I tried all the possible passwords I can think.   There is only a single user account on this computer.  The administrator account should be disabled, it is not an option when connecting safe mode.  I don't have a system repair disc set.   Is it possible to run the system back restore to select a more recent restore point which does not require a password?  Or y at - it another way to connect to the computer?

If you tried to use the system restore to solve a problem, but the problem remained or other problems were introduced, you can undo the restore operation. After you cancel the system restore, you can try using a different restore point.

  • Stop using the password to connect

I have 2 users on my PC and I use both, and each time when I pass between them I have to use my log in password for the account, how can I ignore that, just to change user without any password, nothing. As for windows XP

You can remove your account password in the application of PC settings (just use white or no password for your "new password).

However, this is possible if you don't connect to your computer using your Microsoft online Account.  If necessary, you can unlink your account (convert it to a local account) of the same laptop settings application.  Remember that a local account cannot take advantage of sync setting of PC to PC and some other features.  If you don't have one PC that might not much of importance for you, and much course you can always configure your email, skydrive and anything individually in soft drinks.

And I would be remiss in my duties if I does not point to a security review.  Your PC may never leave your House normally, but what happens if someone were to steal?  If you ever visited the website of your bank or other confidential site / provide and use the 'Remember my password', the thief can get into your bank account.  And even if you do not use the "remember my password" feature, they could always use the link password forgotten on the website of your Bank and then send you a new password. Since they have your PC, they get that email and be in all your stuff.  Just a strong argument to always use a password.  But of course, you don't have to.

  • If I save bookmarks manually and the place it on another computer, are also my passwords to connect to these bookmarks will be transferred?

Hi guys! Hope you're doing great!

I want to give some very important bookmarks to a colleague, but for most of them, I have the passwords saved in Firefox (Linux 14.0.4 LTS) 34.0.

I am afraid that him giving the bookmarks that I have downloaded onto my PC from the option import and export bookmarks, also give passwords to connect to them.

Is it that this will happen or it is authorized to send necessary bookmarks? I don't have another PC on which I can test that for the moment.

I searched through these recommended articles:
-Can I restore my favorites if they were registered to the same profile on another computer?
-Why firefox alters my favorites each time that I load it on another computer?
-How can I move all my favorites of different Firefox profiles in a field to organize them and then place them in different Firefox profiles?
    -Where are my credentials stored?
-Restore the Favorites from a backup or move them to another computer

  • How to copy a catalog of external hard drive to the hard drive of the computer to use smart insights not connected to the external hard drive?

I am very new to LR5. I put LR5 in place so that my catalog and photos are on an external hard drive. I discovered that when not connected to the hard drive, LR5 can't find my catalog, therefore, I can't do any editing in intelligent insights, unless it is connected to an external hard drive. How can I fix this so that I can edit photos without being connected to an external hard drive. Is it possible to copy the catalog out of the hard disk on the computer's hard drive or I have to re-establish a new catalog using LR5? Must the catalog always be loaded onto the hard drive? Thank you in advance.

Yes that's correct. The LR catalog must be on the computer's internal drive. Then when you have smart previews activated you can change the image without going through the reader that they are connected. When you connect this drive images will be updated.

Simply COPY these 4 folders on your internal drive in a folder called Lightroom catalog that you create. Then open LR and go on the file menu point and select open catalog. Navigate to the folder you created called catalog in Lightroom and select the Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 5 file and click Open. Once restart Lightroom open change preferences, > preferences, and under the general tab, in the catalog default section make sure that "when starting to use this catalogue:" listings in the area where you copied the files. Something like Macintosh HD/Wherever, have created it this folder/that folder name/Lightroom catalog.lrcat 5.

  • I can't connect to the computer by using the password.

Original title: windows 7 locked out after several incorrect attempts

I can't connect to my computer toshiba satellite laptop after that my friend unsucessfully tried to guess my password. Now my password is not recognized and I couldn't connect to my own laptop... I have Windows 7 Home premium. I don't have a recovery disk or something like that. Help, please

Thanks for the reply! The message I see is: "the user name or password is incorrect."

I don't think that my password has been changed. I say this because I was the only person who knew the password. Thanks again for your help!

If Windows says your password is incorrect, then your password is incorrect. Otherwise, he would say "locked." Here's how to get out of your situation. In light of your statement "I have a recovery disk or something like that." , you must pay close attention to step 8 unless you like taking big risks.

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before your problems began.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
If you do not have a CD to repair Windows (which is also essential to solve the problems of Windows as a pneumatic Jack is to change a tyre) then here are your options:
    • Burn it on another computer. It takes only three minutes!
    • Borrow one from a friend.
    • Purchase one here: http://systemdiscs.com/
