  I have an old computer HP Desktop HP Compaq dc7900.  I just bought a deskjet HP 1010 printer.  The cable from the printer I have is not compatablile with this printer.  This printer can be connected to this computer?  I'm not very good with these questions, and before I give up, I was hoping someone might be able to help me with this problem.  Should I just return printer he?  Let me know.  Thank you, PJ11397

• help with printing from a mac with OS 10.6.6 c4780

  I put my new C4780 printer until about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine via USB for about a week.   I couldn't figure how to get wireless working, that's why I bought the printer, but that's for another post.  Last night, it came into fashion 'impression' with nothing happens.  It is with a small doc page it was printing fine last week.   The news indicated printer status window as the 'impression' and the info above indicate "sending data printing... "but nothing happens at all.  I followed the only statements on this topic in the guide provided with the printer - for macs, which is to uninstall the software and then reinstall the software.  OK, boring, but I did it.  And nothing has changed.  :-(please help.  I already threw away the box, since it worked last week, so cannot return. Help, please!

  AH - an update - the file finally printed.  Summary of job info displays the file was sent today 09:13 and ended today at 17:51.  And it was doc word a2-page without numbers or pictures!   Help, please!

  OK, cross in system preferences of the Apple menu in high to the left of your screen.

  If you are using Snow Leopard and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD that is not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the HP software on your Mac before you upgraded), you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

  Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
  Click on continue
  Highlight your device in the left pane
  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
  Click on continue and let it finish

  Restart your Mac

  Now run a software update.

  Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

• Need help for printing layers

  I'm doing a 10 punch cards for work - business card size. My first coat is a simple blue box following that is a layer that is like the peas of drawings as flyers. I have the next addition of text and a logo more these layers. When I look in illustrator, the lines are clean and there is no interference on the text. However, when I print on the side of the text is slightly curved ever so lightly in some right to the areas where the points would be under. The main background is blue, the points are gray and the text is white. I don't know ANYTHING about illustrator - I have taught myself this week. Also, I wonder if the printer prints white ink when I use white text? Or is it just a way to die cut the text instead? Any help would be great!

  Do you mean the letters are bumpy and do not have a sharp edge?

  We do not know anything about your printing device or how magnified the image displayed is. Either you have a printer low resolution or maybe that you don't have a postscript. If you make a PDF of your file and print to leave Acrobat would look better if you don't have postscript in your printer. I doubt these are your print settings also bit driver even as change you the resolution and doubt you manually changed.

  I design for a newspaper right now, and I was hoping to get assistance with regard to the establishment of a good workflow.

  Here is the info on our operation right now:

  Adobe Indesign CS4 (Mac OS x Snow Leopard)

  Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Mac OS x Snow Leopard)

  Our prepress Department uses a thermal CTP screen set up to 1200 dpi and BVG 85 with the latest version of the Harlequin RIP (v9.2)

  We carry PDF files with the help of flash drives or a Google Reader, which (to my knowledge) achieve any compression.

  Our printing is called Goss community Offset press.

  We will print on paper of newsprint Standard (48.8 g/M²)

  I was messing around with the configuration of the InDesign PDF output options, for example trying to change destination by default of the US Web Coated (SWOP) to the software component ENFICHABLE 2007, but I'm no expert in bulk at the creation of newspapers willing to print a PDF file, or in the preparation of images for this purpose in Photoshop.

  In addition, we will not remove anything too fancy, just try to stick to the basics.

  I would appreciate any advice on how to better the output PDF files and prepare the images.

  Color of the works of settings for new documents. If you have existing documents you should check profile via editing assignments > assign profiles... Policies are also saved with documents when they are created, change the policy in the color settings will not change policy an existing doc.

• Need help with printing wireless and Air of printing

  I have a Xerox printer connected to an Airport Express station and I was able to print wireless from my Mac. I just replaced the Xerox with a Brother printer which has built in WiFi and Air feel, although I can't get anything to work. I entered my password WiFi network directly on the printer. The instructions had me download the drivers that I did and I download a wireless configuration program that asked more than about nothing if I already entered my password of the WiFi network of the printer.

  1. I do not remember how I already had the Xerox facility to print wireless from my Mac. I just plugged a USB cable directly linking the Airport Express to the Brother printer to bypass the built in Brother WiFi and use the Airport Express for internet.

  2. any thoughts on the use of construction vs the Airport Express WiFi?

  I use an Epson printer set up as AirPrint rather than as a brother, but I expect the two similar configurations.

  All I had to do first was installing the printer on my network domestic wi - fi.

  Then in system preferences > printers & Scanners

  Select Add printer

  

  Select the printer and set its AirPrint and add

  

  What printer model is Brother and in fact specifies that it is compatible AirPrint, or just a Wi - Fi connection?

• Ask for help with printer inherited

  I want to get a printer networked - is no longer supported by its manufacturer - to print over wifi, ethernet or less direct by USB. Indeed, one of our two iMacs can print it by USB (only). The problem is that the other cannot, if directly connected by USB or share from the first iMac. I get an error message that the printer is not connected.

  Drivers installed on both machines seem to be the same, Brother_HL_2170W_series, into the 4.5.0 version numbers.

  The printer is a laser 2007. It ran fine on ethernet and wifi until I put the two iMacs to Mountain Lion. At this point if I ever turned off it would fail to reconnect when turned back on. It was once possible to make one kind of reconfigure by typing its IP address in the URL of a browser bar and then goes to a Brother's Web page. But the IP address of links is more to his brother, as I discovered after accidentally unplugging the printer this week. Can I not run the original CD-ROM, which includes a configuration utility.

  I'm still in the OS X 10.8.5 (the last OS to fully support my FireWire hard drives) and suspect that a new update would help little for a legacy printer. Not the end of the world if I have to buy a new printer, but I regret that throw one that is mechanically correct.

• CP 2025dn: need help with printing double-sided 2025dn

  Got a new computer NUC and installed Win7.  Printer not duplex plus.  Downloaded last UPD. (May 2016).  Printer connected to the network.  Hooray, equivalent to the FX Toolbox but still no duplex obtained.  The printer configuration page ON Duplex.  When I try to print from an application (Quicken, TextPad, etc.) the only option duplex I get is manual.

  The Advanced section in the properties of the printer in different applications gives me the option to print on my butt (which might amuse the guys in the locker room) but does not allow duplex printing.

  Any ideas on how I can get double-sided printing back?  Move to Win8 or higher version is not an option.

  On Windows systems, the function "automatic detection" used by some printer drivers on the install (or update) does not always; make sure the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that a single is present):

  • For the instance of the printer in question, bring up the printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the device settings tab.
  • Make sure the duplex unit is set to installed and not installed.

  You will probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the settings of the device.

  If your model does not have a duplex unit equipped, so you can't do automatic duplexing; You can do manual duplex printing (assuming that the printer driver supports this).

• I have HP Deskjet 3050 a all-in-One Printer - J611g and need help with printing, please?

  I just bought the HP Deskjet 3050 all-in-one printer-J611g a. The manual has shown to do the printer double-sided printing odd pages then only print even pages only, and it works very well for one page on one side of the sheet. However, when I want to print two pages on one side of the paper and another of two pages on another aspect of the sheet, print the odd pages or even pages only just does not work! Ditto to print more than one PowerPoint presentation on one side of the page, if I click on print the odd pages only, then the printer will display the odd number of powerpoint slide instead of print odd number. I used to have another printer HP Officejet and never had any problems with two-sided printing. This printer comes with the function double-sided printeing at all?  If so, how can I do duplex printing?

  This is a limitation of the software that you use and how the HP printers recognize the incoming files. When compress you multiple pages on a single "page" this page is actually two pages, with even and odd numbers. It is therefore difficult for the software to determine the page numbers 'odd' and 'even' when printing, because it is no longer applicable to the relevant pages, but the format in which they are being printed.

  Just in case you can not find the driver for 990c, you can also search the Deskjet 9800 driver as well.

• Help with printing LR5.7 printing for Epson P800 module

  I have re installed Epson drivers and software for P - 800, but cannot print from the print to the printer module, LR just goes through the 'print preparation' but is not actually go anywhere, it just stalls and freezes indifineatly... I can only force quit on my macbook pro 13 "10.11 running OSX. If I send to file in jpeg, I can print successfully through normal print dialogue using the LR presets (so don't not managed printers), I saved alongside the International Criminal Court for the paper I use. What I'm missing here?

  Please try to create the new catalog in Lightroom and import images to it and try to print from there and check if that helps.

• Help with printing on USB HP printer in VMware

  This is in regards to a HP Officejet Pro L7780 all-in-One printer connected via USB to my DELL Precision Workstation A690.

  I need to a separate operating system runs within windows.  I do this using VMware Player (with VMware Tools).  My goal is to be able to print from the virtual machine (guest operating system).  My host PC has Windows XP Pro, and the guest operating system is Windows XP Pro.

  In the PC host, my printer driver I downloaded drivers from HP support (OJProL7X00_Full_8_3.exe) works perfectly.  No problem.

  When I try to install this driver full set in the virtual machine (guest OS Win XP Pro), this is the error I get:

  When I try to install the version of the driver (OJProL7X00_Basic_8_3.exe) base after you completely uninstall the full version incomplete and restarted, it seems to install fine.  However, when I try to print to the printer with the base driver, this is the error I get:

  For USB 2.0, you must the line ehci.present = "TRUE" in the vmx file, at least.

• Help with printing posters

  I designed a poster 20 x 30 in indesign.  It is essentially a tree of the family of images and name tags.  When I look at the picture after printing in PDF format, it looks wonderful - crips lines, beautiful photos.  When I print at Costco it's horrible.  Photos of pixelated, edges and even text.

  In order to submit the order that I export the file in JPEG format.  Costo said export it at 300 dpi.  So I did.  When I discovered the poster on my computer as a JPEG and I Zoom in to '100% ', it seems a lot bigger that it should-, but it looks great.

  I understand there are probably different quality of photos involved in this project and I agree and can live with that, I guess... but here's what I don't understand:

  1. Why is it so much better on my computer

  2. I can understand the picture of the problems - but how is the text also seems so poor?

  I export it too much?  The file JPG it's 9000 x 6000 pixels, which should be good for 300 dpi, ending up being 20 x 30.

  How can I make this look better?  Thank you!

  When you have downloaded your file to Costcophotocenter.com have you selected the young or the download speed high resolution?

Please choose the quick download speed for print sizes up to 8 x 10.

  Because there is a slight compression that would be perceptible only large print formats, it is best to choose the speed full resolution if you want to produce extensions beyond 8 x 10 or if you want to use a photo on a great gift. While this transfers your pictures more slowly, it will provide a resolution appropriate for large prints.

  I'm surprised they don't have PDF but a TIF file to 300 ppi would be better.

  How is - what save you .jpg in Photoshop? You can adjust the quality of the jpg of the 12 (high quality) all the way up to 1 (low quality) that changes the level of compression used.

  A quick test shows a poster 20 x 30 inches at 300 DPI using the highest quality12 is 9. 5 MB. using the lower quality 1 the size of the file is only 1 MB.

  Note that different levels of compression can change the image quality, however, tpixels dimensions 6000 x 9000 he will remain the same!

  So it is possible that:

  The quality of your .jpg was set at a low quality setting when recording from Photoshop.

  Perhaps you have selected fast download speed and the resulting file compressed on the way to Costco.

  Or maybe your local Costco screwed printing. (talk to them if you think they have messed up. They reprint it for you)

  Costco has their printer profiles available for download. See the low center of the home page of www.costocophotocenter.com. Click on it, select only your State and scroll the list locations to Costco and you can see the exact printers they use at your location and you can download the correct printer profiles.

  Try to find printer profiles to FedEx Kinkos or Staples!

  HP LaserJet P1102w chip installed on the new windows 7 PC as a USB device when I am logged in it.   How do I make a printer so I can set as the default printer?  On the control panel / devices and printers, she appears as a device, not a printer.
