  Check the entry of the database, and you may also have too many tags...

  In addition, check to see if your pictures folder is in the root directory, such as an incorrect path can complicate things.

• Need help with workflow to criticize the images of the student

  We used Lightroom CC to criticize images students workshop by import of each card and then work in the develop Module to try different culture, exhibition, etc. Process import/copy files got the largest, became too long for each card. We want to use the Add option, but of course, it is not available when importing from a card SD/CF.

  I need in the catalog previews pretty long to select a half dozen with them to review/edit. The changes are mainly to show how they can adjust their framing and exposure in the future, don't not to teach fitting, so they published versions have no special value.

  I'd rather leave the files on student cards, create standard previews when importing and only create previews of 1:1 on the fly for the images that we edit in fact, usually 5-6 of each session. While criticizing us, then eject and pop in the next map, I leave the card in the reader (USB 3.0).

  They shoot in RAW and would not lose quality by switching to a compressed format or JPG format. Some could be prepared to shoot RAW + JPG for the workshop and simply import the jpg to criticize, but that presents them with a problem of management of file and possibly lowered an image quality for mounting piece.

  Any suggestions? I would like to stay with LR to do this, at least there is no good option in LR, because I also teach LR in the workshop, but would consider another tool or add-in, if it was the best option.

  This is not an option with LR. For any image to display in LR and any changes that will be her the leader/s must be copied to a physical HARD drive that is connected to the system. Memory cards are not treated as physical disks and I don't know anyway to change this in LR

  I suggest that you try Adobe Bridge and then use ACR directly from bridge to make your editing. All functions in ACR are the same as in the module development of LR and you won't have to copy the images to the hard drive first, push as far as I know. I just tested that and it seems to work fine, except that no sidecard the XMP files are created on the memory card. If the changes could only be stored in the cache ACR system and all changes are lost once the card is ejected.

• PS Newb needs help with resizing the image and print several sheet

  Hi, I am using PS CS3 to resize an image, I have so I can print to use as a map for a miniatures game.  I have no problem of scaling of the image to the appropriate size, but I can't understand how to print multiple image 8.5 x 11 sheets.  I thought I saw an option for such a procedure before, but maybe it was in another editing program.  If anyone has any ideas on how I could do this I would really appreciate hearing about them.  Thank you!

  Illustrator and InDesign are tiled printing, like CorelDraw. Photoshop, this title is not, but may be a few script for this. In your case, the simplest solution would be to save the file in PDF format and have Acrobat print a tiled (Page scaling of parameter in Acro print dialog box). You just need to make sure that your page corresponds to several pages. Unliek AI and ID, Acro chop only stuff based on standard paper sizes...

  Your first screenshot shows the layer style dialog where not all types of effects are indicated on the left. Bottom left of the dialog box, you see a small icon fx with a menu arrow drop-down. Use drop down the menu and make sure all you click on show all effects or restore the default list. I don't know what you're trying the shoe on the second screen capture.

  Control Panel/customization, click the line of display settings. Adjust the slider to resolution one that best fits your screen. Looks like you are using a wide screen on a normal screen format.

• How to display a column with a representation of the image color in Windows Explorer on Windows 7?

  OK, here's my situation...

  I have a directory with 300 + JPG images in it; I'm hoping to use some (if not all) of these images for a project.

  However, the project has very specific requirements for the image dimensions, resolution, and a representation of the colors; So I need to evaluate the supplied images to validate if they are all in line with these requirements.

  If I right click on an individual image and choose Properties - then click on details, I can see the image information such as:

  • Dimensions,
  • horizontal resolution,
  • vertical resolution, and
  • color representation.

  ... which would be perfect if I had only 1 or 2 images to cross; but with more than 300 images, it becomes cumbersome.

  So: I put the "Détails" view folder and added columns for dimensions, horizontal and vertical resolution resolution.

  This helps my cause, because I can then sort the directory... and quickly see if the images are too small, too big, or unacceptable resolution.

  However, I have not found a way to add a column for the representation of colors.

  Is it possible to add a column for the representation of colors?

• Help! Duller version of the image makes its appearance in LR 5

  I would be very grateful if someone can help out me. I have a weird situation with one of my engagement sessions, when I import into Lightroom 5: when I click on 'developing', whenever I click on one of the photos, he is said to "loading" for a few seconds and then produced a duller version looking for photography (less than bright colors, almost a little desaturated/flat etc.) There is nothing in 'history' and when I click on 'y' for before and after, there is no change - just the dull image of both sides of the split screen.

  I tried to delete the photos and then import again, but it continues to be.

  Any ideas? I appreciate ALL the help; trying not to panic!

  Since this is the forum of Lightroom for beginners, I'll assume that you are new to using Lightroom.  Much more information about your situation would be useful.  But, assuming that you have turned your session in raw, what you see is completely normal.  Lightroom does not read a lot of the camera settings like saturation, sharpness, portrait, landscape, etc...  When you look at your images using the LCD screen of the camera you watch the embedded JPEG preview, not the raw image data.  The JPEG preview will include all the parameters of the camera, so it will often look substantially different from the raw image.

  In the develop module, go to the calibration section and choose a different camera profile.  If you use a Nikon or Canon camera in particular you will find camera matching profiles that you can pass if you have a raw images.  And you still have to adjust saturation and other sliders to get the desired result.  When you finally set the image to your satisfaction, you have several options.  You can copy these settings to other images.  You can save a preset that includes all of these adjustments.  And if you always pull just portraits with this unit you can save the new default camera settings that include all of these adjustments.

  Working with raw images requires a lot more attention from you, the photographer.  But the results can be much more satisfying.

  Not likely to have, you're doing a "happy dance" but a scanned image is "the ear of the sow" and (Yes, I'll say).

  You can't have a scholarship of silk in one ear of the sow.

  Make you a picture of the text content. You get a result of OCR of all that is recognized. The character by character recognition accuracy is generally quite good. But - No image/photo file actually holds information on format, layout, fonts, etc. - it's just a picture. Acrobat OCR makes some assumptions about all this.

  -You have a bunch of each of the characters being exported to Word. Individual characters, not paragraphs, sentences no, no words, no values "white space", etc.

  So you get an export that is a "best estimate" of the less desirable source. Sometimes, it isn't so bad. Sometimes it's just awful. In all cases, you will need to do some cleanup of the exported content that landed in the Word file.

  The alternative is to transcribe the hardcopy to the Word file.
  In fact it can often be higher as a workflow rather than the scanning-ocr-export-cleanup shuffle

  For really nice export "spot - we ', you must start with a PDF file from an application of creation (not a scanned image) which is a well-formed tag PDF (for example ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1).
  The purpose of the tagged PDF document is not only Accessible PDF is also how PDF supports actively the re-use of content (for example, export).

• Question about size of sequence (anamorphic) and the distortion of the image.

  If I create a sequence with sizes 1920 x 810 is a way to bring images in the sequence and did not get distorted? I would prefer just to crop the top and the bottom of the image. Ultimately the file video or original, but just the size of the sequence remains the same. Is this possible?

  Right click on the clip on the timeline and if "Scale to frame size" is checked. If so, turn it off. This can be done globally in Edit > Prefs, but only affects clips when you import, does not affect those already in the project.

  This should provide the effect desired cropping the top and bottom, but always curious to see how it will be out. If you want to go to Blu - ray or whatever it is a "standard video", then it is preferable to use the full HD image size and add black bars to get the 'look' that you want

• Distortion of the image

  Hi guys

  I am running Win7 CS6. Up until recently all OK, import of images. During the last day or longer, whenever I have place and resize an image in my document, it's like a miniature oversized (while staircase and pixelated). I have to go into Photoshop without worrying about and save the image to the JPEG format for the web and puts instead (I can't place the PSD version which opens all pixelated). I don't cahnged, but y at - it a setting that I need to see if the there is changed somehow?

  Start with view > display performance > high quality screen (and maybe change the default in the preferences, too).

  It could also be that it is not only a sufficient resolution for the size of e ht whereby you are scaling. What is the effective ppi when you check the link information?

• help with resizing script

  I found an online script that turns pictures into a square (by increasing the size of the canvas on the short side to match the length of the long side) which is awesome, but I would like to make an extra step and I have no experience with script so I hope someone can help.

  now that my images are square, I want to put a maximum of 2500 x 2500 px size, I found scripts to set a resolution of a specific size, but I want to make sure to avoid is upsampling, so I want just any image is greater than 2500 x 2500 px down sample to 2500 x 2500 px

  When I'm at the machine with the script that I currently use will be to paste it here in the meantime if you know something about the scaling of the images down, but preventing their intensification I could probably chimpanzee with the code I have and make it work.
