Helping the Index page

Hello

I'm working on my first real site and I'm having a problem, I can not understand.

with respect to the index page.  I have my page set up how I want, but I can't seem to load as I want it.

This is the site

www.pineywoodsfarming.com

and if you notice, it's not about us section.  But if you go to

www.pineywoodsfarming.com/index.html

then it works as I want.  I think that it is a general question, I need to learn more about because I am not satisfied by the paths I have.  for example, farm manager wanted section.  I would like to take off the /pages/manager/html (those in bold I would take off)

can someone direct me to a topic that I need to learn more about.  Thank you

If you have the time some creative comments would also appreciated but not necessary. (my main concern is that I did the home page is not user friendly)

Thanks for watching and helping out a new guy.

Edit:

He began to appear on his own without doing me anything, so I think that fixed the problem.  Perhaps no clear historical as well as I thought I did.  but can someone direct me to a topic to help me with my problem of address (or what I just my layout with this in mind the structure)

Thank you

You can easily get rid of the pages folder in the structure of your site by changing all of your index.html pages and placing them into folders for each section in the root of the site, like this...

index.html
on<-->

index.html<-- would="" be="" the="" old="" about="" us="">

job<>
index.html<-- would="" be="" the="" old="" manager.html="">

In this way, your pages would be www.pineywoodsfarming.com/about or www.pineywoodsfarming.com/employment

  • Bypass the index page.html in PIA

    HI Experts,

I have configured the load balancer for my web server (server of Web 2) .so that my url looks like http://qaps.lnt.com when I go to the url it redirects me to the peoplesoft index.html page. When I click on "Please click here to log on to the page of peoplesoft", it takes me to the login page. But my requirement is to circumvent the index.html page. When I type http://qaps.lnt.com it brings me to our login page. The reason behind this is the user final can recall only the abbreviated of qaps.lnt.com and not form the url complete and also, they do not want to see the homepage of weblogic server (index.html) page.

    Any ideas or suggestions.

    Thank you

    A vinatier

    Hello

    2 simple options.

1: change the index.html file in each web server and add a refresh of html to automatically to the login page:

    http://qaps.LNT.com/PS/signon.html">

    Loading...<p class="reply"> <p class="reply">

    2. most of the load balancers allow actions in base/context based application.  Use your load balancer to intercept the query "/" and rewritten for the customer.  (This method may vary depending on your program of load balancing).

    I hope this helps.

  • Problem with hidden top nav on the index page

I use a free template that has a header that slids up to reveal nav simular to the footer.

This feature works fine on all my pages except for the index to premium - posts-.com

The problem is that I have no idea if the function... is javascript or CSS, I think it's CSS. I did "inspect" the elements on the page but did not find anything that looked as if it was the problem.

I would post code if I new what to post, I hope really that someone can point me in the right direction.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to work OK in Firefox and IE8.

No need to post the code you provided a link to the site

Lol by using a .htaccess file does not involve PHP at all. What follows
assume that the server had .htaccess enabled for your site and that
    mod_rewrite is available.

First of all, check your preferences to ensure that your line breaks are
set correctly under UNIX (Edit-> preferences-> Format of Code-> line break Type).
Then check the remote files to see if there is an existing file named
.htaccess. If there is, download it and add the two following lines to
the lower part. Otherwise, create a new file that includes * only * the
    following two lines:

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^ $| ^ index.html$ /shop/home.php [R = 301, L]

Save the file as .htaccess in the root directory of the site. It's the
full name. The point is the first character of it.

Download the file on your site, then test immediately by accessing
http://www.sugarrays.co.uk to ensure that it works. If you get an error,
Delete the file from the remote control. If it works correctly, you will be
re-directed before any page is downloaded.

  • Why is my footer in the middle of my page? It works fine on the index page.

Footer appears on the middle of the page on other pages, but works completely fine on the index. No matter the amount of content I have, it remains down, but not on other pages. Why?

I wish that my index page to have an associated icon, so when someone creates a shortcut pointing to this page, their shortcut will use this icon in its display. Is this possible?

    Hello Mike,.

    In addition:

Your browser must be satisfied first show!

Download the file favicon.ico to the root of your server.
Insert this line of code between the
Tags on your home page or index.html:
If you want to use an animated, icon
    Download the animated_favicon1.gif as above
and add one of these lines of code:

    Clear your caches!

Check with another browser, the new icon will be there.

  • Invisible text on the index page

I used Dreamweaver in the classic environment. The index.html page seems fine and I used edit text here without any problem. However I use OS x, ago different end appeared: index.shtml when I open this document there is no text I could change is visible. All empty space. It is in design mode. When I go to view code, I see all the text. I changed end shtml to HTML in the hope that the text will appear. Nope.
So my question is - how to make the text visible in index.shtml document in design mode?

    The page includes in it.
Of what you pasted as a code at the beginning:

[an error occurred while processing the directive]

    Open THIS file.
    http://www.pelcor.com/_ssi/_top.shtml

Open each file in the _ssi folder and look at them.
There are dozens and dozens of valign = attributes 'top' from there and to
less a single file with this:

VAlign = "top" valign = "top".

    Giant slap in the head:

DW cache folders that begin with a _____
If this file was not sought.

No matter if dw was hiding the files/folders, this is your site and I threw a DART to
where the problem is. You should have been able to see.

  • SWF, HTML files only work when the absolute path is entered, not on the index page

I have a strange problem: when I type the absolute URL to my SWF file, it works fine.

However, only the background image is displayed when the SWF file is embedded in the

"" "" home page. "" " Does anyone have an idea why this would be the case?

The images are loaded dynamically?  Given that the swf file is not in the same folder that the homepage, the SWF is perhaps mistargeting them.  When you load a swf in an html page, this page will become the base for any relative targeting.  So if the swf file can load the images in its own folder, you should have to move the images in the folder of the home page, or change the relative for them in the swf file path as if the swf file is in the folder of the html page.

  • Helps the 8-page brochure layout

I need some tips for laying on a booklet of 8 pages color for a client.

There will be panels of 8.5 x 11 (8) (two sheets of 11 x 17 inches, printed on both sides and folded and stapled in the Center). I don't even know if they want a picture on the cover page to wrap wholly or partially on the back cover, but they may be.

Normally, I have a booklet of 8 pages using 8.5 x 11 pages, 1/8 "bleed and facing pages. This shows the front and back covers as a single letter size pages, with two pages of reader sandwiched between the two.

Is this the right way to go, or is there a better way?

If I give it to (4) pages are 11 x 17 (with a fold in the middle) they spoil or think somehow I spread the drive when it is actually set up as margins of the printer?

    Reflections, advice?

    Thanks again,

    Lou

I guess that you didn't copy and paste part of the place of my first post.

Place the image on the cover page as you want and let the part that would wrap extend on the pasteboard. Now, copy of the image, as it is and move it to the front rear, wher will stick you in place (not a regular dough). The part that was on the editing table will be on the back and the part that was on the cover will be on the pasteboard, and both will be perfect register if you move the pages together.

As these pages will be butt in printing final you don't need internal bleed, then just drag the edge of the image to crop off the coast of the part of each image that is on the pasteboard, or leave, it is not really important. Just make sure you don't re - position one or the other. Putitng on a locked layer would be a good idea.

  • How can I put the top of the index page when I moved in my area?

    could be confusing question, sorry.

Just a click on this page and read the topic please.

    http://bigshouting.cafe24.com/

When you click, you could see not the top of the page to index but low...

    How can I fix?

Can you guys explain with procedure?

The problem is that you have a form at the bottom of the page that has a field set to 'auto '. This means that when the page loads it will automatically put the cursor in the box and of course to do that, she'll have to scroll down to it.

You must remove the automatic point of this form field or move the shape to the top of the page.
