  Whenever I have cut an audio clip in my sequence, the source monitor freezes creating two of the same framework.  I then have to wait anywhere from five to ten minutes only for Panel source monitor back to normal to continue editing, with playback.  Itself doesn't freeze, I am able to go into my settings and change again within the sequence.  It's only the source monitor.  Anyone know this problem and is there a solution?  Thank you!  My apologies if this has already been discussed in another post.

When I go to: Control Panel, sounds and Audio devices, and "Audio" tab all is Ghost and I am unable to change the sound settings. Volume tab says "No. Audio Device" and is also ghost. I have troubleshooted everything and told me that they all work properly. Don't know what to do next.

  I found where to display disabled and re-enabled devices!  To find it, I went to control panel-> hardware and sound-> Sound.  On the reading tab, there is a box that lists the devices.  Right click in this field and you will get the option to show disabled devices.   Then I enabled all simply!  Yay, thanks anyway.
