  Yes running of programs that are not on the store is not possible.   Download the appropriate driver from the printer manufacturer's web site.  If it contains a Setup program, run the program and when it asks you to specify the printer installation, create a local printer whose name is \\xpsystem\printer where 'xpsystem' is the charing system printer and "printer" is the name of the share.  This should create the printer.

  You can also expand the downloaded driver and try to add the printer as you did before, direct the installation to the folder containing the driver that you downloaded.

  I need to know the file current date/time number stamp and the version of "spoolsv.exe" in Vista Home Premium 32-bit with SP2. My spooler file got corrupted and I need to know what that the stamp of date/time on the latest version of the file: spoolsv.exe. I did a search on my hard drive and found 8 copies of the file with 7 different dates. I need to know which copy in my file C:\windows\system32\. I suspect that the problem was caused by some kind of malware. I think that some of the different versions on my machine of the initial installation of the Vista, SP1 and SP2. 3 copies that would explain. I tried all the suggestions in this forum and several others. I tried sfc/scannow and it simply replaces the corrupted file by another. I understand how works this file and a simple copy will do the trick if I knew that the file to use. I know that I don't want to go back to the first version of 2006.  BTW... my symptoms are all my printers have disappeared, and when I try to 'add a new printer' I get an error message saying that my spooler service does not work. When I opened my services window it shows that indeed, he is arrested, but I will not start because the description column contains only the code garbled machine indicating that the file is corrupted, or it may contain a virus. I had been using F-Prot until this virus got by and now I use AVG. I scanned my machine with several cleaning packages and it is is more infected, but I worry that from this corrupt file grow something.   Updates Windows installation location cannot be changed. Windows updates tend to fix and replace the old files of the system, so it would normally replace a file in the System32 folder.

  If you burn to a DVD disc in first items 10 and later versions, some choices are

  a. DVD-VIDEO standard screen or 4:3 16:9 on DVD disc

  HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer.   Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

  I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive.

  Most of the Windows 7 drivers from the drivers of HP Pavilion p7-1299 c desktop PC page should work on your desktop HP ENVY 700 - 000z CTO. Both models use a variant of the motherboard HP Jasmine. If you have missing or unknown devices after installing the drivers, please post the "Hardware ID" Device Manager for devices as shown in the example below.
