  We use the Essbase Excel Addin to retrieve the data of the Essbase cube and there are two or three Excel reports have been created, users just need to open the worksheet, connect to Essbase and recover, new data should appear.
  
  However mention of users that there is that no new EEG data not recovered even as it connects the essbase without problem, but the new data does not appear when it hits to recover, I test the sheet and get the same question.
  
  We use Excel 2007. Any idea and suggestion?

  I think I read that differently from the others, so I'll ask a question. Is it that you ask when a spreadsheet is submitted a list of members and that the user performs a search, all that they see is a list of the members, even if additional members have been added to the database?
  If so, it is customer waited. In order to get new members, you will need to start at a higher level on the spreadsheet and to zoom in to assoult new members in the hierarchy.

• Issue of calculation Excel addins

  Hi team,
  EMP 11.1.2.2 can you please tell me what script (by default) Calc in the worksheet excel Addins? I was under the impression that (by default) calc's ALL CALC. But when I use the script to calc add-ins Excel (default) after locking/sending data of the calc does not work properly and I do not see as expected higher level data.
  
  But when I create a calc script, as mentioned below, and when I use it after locking and send for calculation I see expected results.

  Go to PARTY and do a right-click on the database and select set-> default calculation. It will show you what is on the default calc. If it just says: Calc All; or else replace it with your Calc_All script. It could be that, since by default, there is no intelligent calculation off by default, that might be your problem.   I've migrated essbase application both shared 11.1.1.3 11.1.2.1 EPM EPM services as well as groups of users filter etc. and also configure MSAD correctly.
  
  MSAD users are able to successfully connect to ESSBASE Administration Services
  
  However when they try to use EXCEL ADDIN it shows that you have not sufficient access to perform playback on this database
  
  Any suggestions, what went wrong.

  Looks like the user/group has entrusted the role of access to the filter of the SSP for an essbase application but did not have all the associated filters.
  Please double check that the filters have been applied in the user/group's Shared Services, just after you have provisioned users/groups and created filters is not enough the association between the two must be applied.

• Excel Addin sweater question

  I have the end user through Excel Addin for data FRO Essbase (11.1.1.3). There are values 0 in their sweater, but for some reason, the 0 value becomes text value in their sweater excel (with little gree arrow at the top left of the cell), and this causes the error on their worksheet. This is the first time, we have this problem.

  have they specified 0 as their replacement value of #missing, this would cause the customer, you see. If this is the case, have them replace the 0 (0) that returns a zero digital, but be careful. If they put data into Essbase, you do not want returned zeros

  If you want the main difference between the Excel add-in and smartview I'd say it's just they way it connects and retrieves the data. the add-in uses the grid api and tcpip and smartview uses java on the web. There are a ton of differences between the supplement and smartview, but as the versions come thay are close. Here are a few others can add to the list:

  It is not with a single application but with all the new applications I created.
  
  I copied the database to the sample application and I am able to see the data in Excel

• Submit Smart data view and Lock and send in Excel Addin

  I need to prevent users to send data to Smart view or Excel Addin.
  I can't as read access because I want to write of the Hyperion Planning Web Form.
  
  On the same any help will be appriciated highily.

  We want to display the data by using Smart view and macros, but do not want to change the data from there.

  ^ ^ ^ There is nothing to do. This is the mode of operation of the Planning. Users planning Essbase are read-only. Go check their filters and you will see what I mean.

• Excel addin 11.1.2.2 with 11.1.2.3 work essbase?

  The classic complement to a previous version (11.1.2.2) will work with the latest version 11.1.2.3? I have not found an answer anywhere and I was wondering if anyone had the chance to test the add-in excel against a new version. Thanks in advance.

  The 11.1.2.2 addin doesn't seem to work with 11.1.2.3, I tried only to basic features and not seen any issues, that does not mean that every piece of functionality work.
  Maybe it's time to consider some Smart View if you're moving to 11.1.2.3

  I have a very strange situation.
  I have an Excel with macro after opening the file, it connect to essbase, retrieve data, disconnect and then generetes a .csv file. Work Grill when I open excel file standard double-click, but when I open excel file from a VBScript, any error of generetaes '-3' of essbase function, it means "initialization error", can someone help with this?

  When you open Excel from code, the add-in not loaded. You will need to call something like:

  Application.AddIns.Item ("Essexcln"). Installed = False
  Application.AddIns.Item ("Essexcln"). Installed = True

  Replace 'Essexcln' with the string that you find in the dialog of the add-in in Excel; It varies from one version to another.

  I use excel addlin 11.1.2.2. I checked the Preservation(Retain on retreival) formula setings in option. But some time later, this setting is disabled.

  Is there an option that does not to change my settings?

• Excel Addin Essbase support after 11.1.2.4

  I support about 100 Essbase users, who use the add-in to Excel existing (a mixture of 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.2).  Several years ago the access administration and security for our Essbase server has been moved to a team specialized in India, so I am now concerned especially with the support/building variious excel financial models that are built into Essbase.  Team India COMPUTING tells me that our servers will be upgraded to version 11.1.2.4 soon, so I need to get users to SmartView. HE has said that after the upgrade, "Add - in Essbase Excel is no longer supported".

  Anyone could use the plug-in inherited after the server upgrade to 11.1.2.4?  Or the add-in will simply stop working?  My understanding is "unsupported" may be different from "will not work".

  I installed SmartView 11.1.2.5.410 (Build 015) on my PC and see some advantages to the new add-in.  However, our group has 2 other large systems updates that are forced to we that will significantly affect our feature from day to day, and I'm not sure that some of them can run a 3rd significant change to their routine

  It still works with 11.1.2.4 but I can't speak for all features or if it can hurt, I would not recommend as it is not a supported configuration and Smart View is the route chosen for Oracle.

• Question about Excel AddIn and the UDA in Excel

  I have a dimension attribute, and I am able to recover data in Excel and drill down based on the size of the attribute.
  
  But when I try to do the same exercise using a UDA, I get weird errors. Has anyone tried the same thing with the UDA?

  UDAs can be selected through the Select Members dialog box, but cannot be drilled in on because Adu do not have a corresponding dimension; attributes do - that's why you can break into an attribute.

  I tend to use aggregates for purposes of calc - I prefer to maintain a contour with UDAs creation never reported on the hierarchies to select a group of members.
