Highlight of the icons on the desktop

All my shortcuts on the desktop are highlighted in blue, as when you go to delete something, how can I fix?  I must have accidentally pressed something to make it go like that, it wasn't like her week last thanks

Here is another article that addresses some more things to try to get rid of the blue highlight:

  • How can I add missing icon to the desktop shortcuts

Question too much techno for me... I have several desktop shortcut icons... For most of those who appear as the Mozilla Fox, which is fine, but unfortunately, there are too many icons in Firefox, and I wanted to change some REAL WEB SITE icon, or the favicon. How will I know how to do this? Thank you!

It is not a matter of Firefox making it simple - the Windows operating system controls the desktop icons, so with 3rd party Windows applications automatically use the application for the shortcut icon, but it is possible to change the image of what you want.

If you want the image of the Web site that the site to use for the URL bar as a shortcut on the desktop icon to a Web site:

    1. Define the shortcut on the desktop.
    2. Find and save the image you want to use for this shortcut.
    3. Then right click on that shortcut, then open properties > shortcut on the shortcut menu for the shortcut on the desktop, then use "change icon...". " and "Browse... ". " your hard drive for the image you want to use for the shortcut on the desktop.

Insofar as find and save the Favicon of the site, see the screenshot below.

    1. Locate the icon on the Info Page > media tab and click on it once so it is highlighted, then view this picture in the preview window of media down and also check the Dimensions 32 x 32, if the image is not a picture of Type X-ICON.
    2. Then use the button Save under to save this image - name which has saved something unique, as (for example this forum) mozilla - favicon.ico image then you can tell him apart from any other favicon.ico image you may have saved or save.

If you want to use your own choice of an image, you can convert the image into an image to favicon.ico here.

    http://Tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

When you create a favicon.ico for use as a desktop image, make sure that you select the option merge with a 32 x 32 desktop icon on this page.

You see only your background image and the wallpaper?

Miss all your desktop icons and you don't see the taskbar at the bottom of the screen or are simply missing icons and you can see the taskbar at the bottom?

Check the simple things first.  Right-click on an open space on your desktop, choose Arrange icons by and make sure the option show desktop icons has a check mark next to it.  This will work if you don't miss you that the desktop icons, but still see the Start button and the taskbar.  If you are missing as the Start button and the taskbar, which isn't your problem.

If only you can see your wallpaper background picture and don't see the desktop icons and no start button or taskbar, this means that the explorer.exe program does not run (and it must be running) or the explorer.exe program are usually afflicted.  A good way to think about at the moment, it is that the process explorer.exe "is" your desktop.

If this is the case of malware in general prepares.

First, you need to get your work desk in order to have room for manoeuvre, then you can solve your problem of potential malware.

Of your background image, press Ctrl-Alt-Del and open Task Manager.

Look at the processes tab and if the process explorer.exe is not running, start it as follows:

In Task Manager, click file, new task, and in the Open box, enter:

    %windir%\explorer.exe

Click OK and see if get you your office.  If you get an error, we need to know what it says.

If explorer.exe is already running in the processes tab, it is likely that the object of the affection and will need to be replaced (which is not difficult).

If you notice that the explorer.exe process is already running in the Task Manager, highlight the explorer.exe process, and then click end process to stop and start a new explorer.exe process as described above.

If things look right now, your system is still not fixed, but it should be enough usable so now you can fix it.

    Hi Ronstedt Rutherford Molina,

You check run-time Options to ensure that you have shadows fall to use the desktop icon labels.

    1. Click Start
    2. Select Control Panel
    3. Select the Tools and information on the performance
    4. Select adjust Visual effects
    5. Go to the tab Visual effects
    6. Select Show translucent selection rectangle. You can also choose to Let Windows choose what's best for my computer

Let us know if that helps.

  • the desktop icons disappear when I connect through a VPN

On my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, SP1 system, automatic reorganization and snap to grid are unchecked.  And I don't have problems with icons on a restart.  I have problems when I access my system in my home using a VPN and the DRC.

Sometimes when I connect, I find that most of my desktop shortcut icons have disappeared and the few remaining ones are reorganized.  It happens every time and I did not understand a common denominator as to when it occurs.

I copied all my desktop shortcuts to a folder on a different drive if I can put them all after they disappear, but when I copy and paste them on the desktop, they do not return to the same places they were in front.  Instead, they are lined up on the grid starting at the top left and go down and creating more columns until all the icons were pasted.

So, I have to manually, drag and drop them where I want them to be.

Like others who interrogated him about the desktop icons, when I right click on the desktop I do not receive a "Properties" link as shown.  I'm getting , sort by view, refresh, paste & paste the shortcut, cancel deletion, New, screen resolution, Gadgets and Personalize.

I also tried another solution that said"right-click an empty space on your desktop and Select the desktop icons.  When I right click, I get the menu described in the previous paragraph.  Then when I start to clicking on icons to highlight, the menu disappears.  If I pointed out all the icons first and then with the right button on the desktop, the menu and the highlighting disappears.

How can lock the desktop icons?  I agree with the donor who asked a parameter for "don't mess with my desktop computer EVER.

  • How to stop Office selection icon IE become highlighted when the mouse moves on the object

When I move my mouse on the screen and it passes over a desktop icon; and I accidentally press right or left button over an icon, this icon is moved from the current position to a different position is determined by when I am is now the button.

What I would really like is that the selection and highlighting of an icon only would be finished when I specifically on the right or left when right-click on the object. Then to move the icon I would have left, or right click the highlighted

    Hello

According to the description of the problem, it seems that you are facing problems with the highlight and select the icons on the desktop.

As the operating system is designed and it is obvious that just by moving the mouse and selecting a folder or icon for awhile Office holding down the button left or right moves the icon or folder somewhere else.

    It will be useful.

  • icons and folders on the desktop cannot be moved

I just installed Security Update 2016-001. When the computer rebooted all my folders on the desktop and icons have been in different places and I can't move them on the desktop. I can click and drag, but when I drop back to where they were

Please, do a right-click on desktop & choose since none.

Also, be sure that all applications are closed before performing the above step.
