Highlighting the fields to fill in when a checkbox control is selected

Hello world.

I am very new to Adobe.  With the help of windows.

I created a personal notice of action which has t he top 6 check boxes.  I want A section (which has 5 fields, ex: employee id, name, date of effect) to be highlighted when the checkbox named 'promotion' is checked.  However, Section B, C and F are also to be completed by the user during this same check box is selected.

I therefore, section A, B, C, F, being highlighted when promoting is checked.  However, if the "salary change' is checked, I want to sections A, C, F to bring out.

And so on...

Each section of the form contains a lot of different areas.   I will try to download the document so any help would be greatly appreciated. I know very little if any instructions if you need to be very specific.

I appreciate all help.

Thank you!

    Hello Adobe community.

    Here is a video link to explain my problem, there is also some text below explaining my problem too:

    Questions of implementation of the fields to fill in Adobe Acrobat.webm - Google Drive

    Last week I published a PDF file in Acrobat and added to fill fields... everything worked very well.

    This week, I'm doing the same thing.

    -J' open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat (CC)

    -I'm going to "prepare the form."

    -J' I 'add a text field.

    * Now at this stage, everything worked fine. But now... I add the text field and I can't change it at all. I can't resize the text box, select it, nothing. I can even add a default in its properties, and nothing will be displayed. What is going on? I tried troubleshooting this online and I can't find an answer. In addition, I just did this last week, so I know it's possible lol.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    It is a strange...

    First of all, thanks for the video, it's so much easier to understand what is happening when I see how things do not work.

    From what I see, I guess that it is something that is specific to this particular document. Have you tried to add form fields to a whole new document? You can do by ensuring that no other document is open in Acrobat, then Cmd-Shift-T to create a new document with a blank page in it. Now select Tools > prepared form - because this is a new document that was never recorded, Acrobat invites you to save it. Once registered, try to add a form field. It work? The form field is the way that you expect it to behave?

    If this isn't the case, then it is very likely that there is something wrong with the installation of Acrobat. The first thing I would try is to select help > check updates, make sure that you are running the latest version of Acrobat DC. If this does not help, I uninstall Acrobat and install again a new download. You can download Acrobat here: download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI or X

    If the problem is specific to your document, we will know why this is. It is possible that the document is corrupt. There are several ways you can try to recover from some alterations: the first thing I would try is to do a "save under" to save a new file name. Does it work or you get an error message? If you can save as a new file, the new file shows the same problems? If so, then try to extract just one page in a new document. To do this, open the thumbnail on the left, then select the page, right-click and select Extract page. This sill to create a new document with just one page in there, save it and try again.

    If you are still not able to add form fields that behave properly, it gets a bit more complex. How was the file created? Application used to create the original file and what application was used to save the file as a PDF file? Would you be able to share this file?

  • How to change the size of text in the fields to fill?

    Please let me know how change the size of text in the fields to fill?

    Hey Swan, laken59599864

    It is not possible to change anything in the PDF with Adobe Reader.

    You may need to open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat and choose "tools > forms > edit ' and double-click on a text field to view its properties. Click on the appearance tab, and then change the font size as you wish.

    Hope this is useful.

  • Is there a way I can make you so when someone is filled out a form to fill live they can't send it until all the fields are filled?

    I have a PDF document that is a form with a submit button. However, I'm not sure if I can do fill in all mandatory fields until they can push send. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi strictlys32285696,

    Inform that you can set the fields as required so that the user cannot submit the form without having to fill in all fields (an error message will appear & empty required field is highlighted)

  • Require the field be filled when the other field values change

    I tried to search on something I have to do but couldn't come up with a combination of words to find many.

    I have a situation where, when some field on a form, the values change, I need a comment filled field. So if changing values of designated field and the comment field is NOT filled in, I'd like some sort of message indicating that the comment field must be filled in when this field is changed. Preferably, this would happen when the "Update" button is pushed on the form. And this should occur before the data is sent.

    This seems to be between validation and dynamic Action. I don't know how to create what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I hope I described the scenario quite well.

    Thank you!
    John

    Create an item hidden on the form, create a dynamic action to fill this article on the change of your required items. create a validation on the comments that will be triggered ONLY if the hidden item is filled through the action of the element changed...

  • All the fields are filled automatically with the same information as in the field.  When deleting, all delte also fields.

    Whenever I type information in the first field of the form, it automatically fills the same information in all areas.  How can I stop this

    If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader for free, you can not.

    It was more than likely a mistake by the creator of forms. No doubt, they have created a field copy and paste this one to create others. Usually, it's ok, but must be given to all fields different identifiers (names). All the fields with the same name will be filled with the same content.

  • Format custom text field only when the field is filled

    I have created a form that I need to have the format of a text field "model:"& value of text field, then when it is empty so it is just empty.»

    I put event.value = "template:" + event.value; "." in the format custom properties of the text field it set to format correctly, but if it had not entered in this field he said always model: so what should I do for it to be only occur when there is something entered in the field.

    Change to:

    If (event.value) event.value = "template:"+ event.value; ".

  • EasySign: what I can or cannot change the fields to fill?

    Is it just me, or is Acrobat EchoSign a hostile user to the garbage piece? I use reader 10.1.3. This is a form that I would complete and perhaps 'sign' with a TIFF of my signature, but first I have to type in some areas. Arrived at this point took me 20 minutes this morning:

    Acrobat EasySign.jpg

    (Sorry for the fur JPEG;) Forums Adobe informed me passively after that I tried to save three no-anti-aliasing 'content types' that he would only accept JPEG format.)

    If you examine the name under the section 'INFO' field, you will see three blue spots reflecting three multiple selections no region of text boxes in the list to the right. These objects are the result of my patiently left click the i-beam on my name in order to change the text that I entered in each field. Whenever I did, I would like to briefly see a blip appear under the i-beam, but he would not let me change my text. The blip, of course, was a text box of length zero being created. I persisted because at some point given, I swear I saw an arrow icon and it let me do a selection in blue on a parcel of my text, but then for some reason any when I typed nothing happened, then the apparition disappeared and I couldn't repeat it. And it is only after a few minutes, when I started to play with a right click on a text field, I discovered the "list of comments" so needless of me in frustration.

    There are now dozens of these mini boxes everywhere in the sheet (just look at how the "list of comments" has 86 entries instead of the 12 that actually contain text). But it means I can't change something when I finished a text, isn't it? If so, why not? Why is he not clear for me, a sophisticated user? Why the bizarre and unpredictable behavior? Or I'm a sort of silly, not having found the correct incantation? Maybe an Adobe firewing priestly programmers or myriads now will enlighten us all, tacitly suggesting that it's just my stupidity, because they knew the blessed Secret their first time.

    I have fairly exhaustive sought a solution to this and have so far found nothing, but maybe it's because I've budgeted only 45 minutes for this potential simple task. Am I'll have to check out this file in Illustrator, or print it out and post it?

    Twenty years ago, I was probably the first or second person outside mountain view to show the alpha of the carousel. Since that time - and despite having occupied hope repeatedly - I still can't easily fill a document online without heartache. Why can't I edit a field? What I have to do when I want to edit a multi-line field? My workaround over the years have range from every possible thing you can imagine, the scan in Photoshop or Illustrator, Quark or InDesign; in the fields of the blind and double-exposures on a printer laser. the glue; even to hack the fields the PostScript with setfonts and the movetos shows.

    I spent 40 years in the graphic arts; half of them I've struggled with Acrobat, on some products work quite complex with the features of questionable when delivery shoehorned in PDF format. When it comes to simple single-page monochrome form letter/A4 - the portable document more abundant on earth - we are now in Acrobat v10 and all I want to do is easily a form, sign and return by email and I still can't.

    Why is life so much harder now than when I could run that through a typewriter, Adobe? What you really do about it for billions? How much more precious moments of our lives that you're going to waste?

    (P.S. What difference is almost a day: hours after this - and just before submitting this article - I myself have discovered the cast with a few minutes more far experiments most already spent. Now, I can recreate the arrow and change the field. It's really not hard, but it's far from clear is the furthest thing of the good technique of the user interface. However, I know now the blessed Secret, or at least a part of it. But it does not change my position above. You can guess why, O Adobe priesthood of unbearable preachy? If it takes a programmer experienced hours to learn the combination, what makes you think to Grandma and Grandpa never go figure?)

    I have to say that a large part of the problem is due to the agency providing the form. This would have worked much better if they had taken the time to add real interactive form fields so that you wouldn't have to worry about the typewriter tool. It's actually good that Adobe provides that as an option of last resort for PDF files that look like forms. It of a little silly to provide a PDF of a form and makes it not to fill, especially since it's possible since Acrobat/Reader 3. This particular form would be easy to implement with fields.

    Regarding the file TIFF is not not qualify, it is worth looking at in more. Consider filing a bug report.

  • Highlight the field replace

    I built a form with several fields of text with the value "calculated - user can overide.  When running and substitution, that I would change the fill color to clearly identify the fields that are substituted.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi, the text fields value seems to get a set of properties of substitution to 1 when the value has been replaced so I suppose you could do something like this in the case of the field output.  The only thing is that I saw all the documentation on the substitution property

    If

    (TextField1.value.override == 1)

    TextField1.fillColor

    = "150,130,33";

    on the other

    TextField1.fillColor = "0,0,0";

  • Firefox 23.0.1, update is no longer automatically highlights the contents of address bar when I open a new tab.

    The foregoing. When I opened a new tab in the past, before the new update, firefox would automatically highlight the text in the address bar, and I couldn't just start typing here the address of the site that I wanted to. I could quickly get anywhere I want in less than a second. Now, I need to drag, and then click on in the bar every time to address. I installed an add-on called "custom newtab", but it slows down just me lower due to a lag between opening a new tab and the add-on kick and highlighting the contents of address bar.
    What is happening is this:
    Click "new tab".
    New tab opens blank, and the text appears highlighted "google.co.uk" for about a quarter second.
    Loading the Google page and highlight the text becomes not for another second quarter.
    The module comes in and highlights the text "google.co.uk" Meanwhile I have already started typing and end up losing the first part of words, sending me random web pages and research.

    Why this change? Difficulty please!

    Hi ChrisYeomans, a change has been noted in other threads on google.co.uk

    The http URL now automatically redirects to https. Since you did not specify the Protocol in your newtab.url setting, Firefox attempts http and it is immediately redirected to the https domain. You should be able to see this happen unless your computer is much faster than mine.

    Firefox does not handle this redirect elegantly - the URL in the address bar is not enabled unless you click a different tab, and then click back.

    To work around the problem, update your newtab.url to the URL https://www.google.co.uk/ full

  • The vulnerability is the CC and the fields of e-mail when sending group messages?

    I have a friend who is a challenge to me when I advised her to use the BCC field instead of the CC field to send group messages.
    I've been in there for years and this was one of the fundamental pieces of advice that we would give users on our network to prevent the spread of the virus and spam and to be perfectly honest, I thought it was a given since e-mail is sent in plaintext and therefore can be analyzed.  The question I have, are vulnerable to what Email address when it is used in the CC field or virus and malware seeks to steal addresses?  Also to throw away spammers as well.

    Thank you, sugi2k.

    Hi sugi2k,

    With assistance from the ICC is also how to send group messages, but I do it mainly for individual members of the group do not get to see all addresses of electronic mail to any person to whom I sent the message.  As far as I know, there is no almost difference between using the field or the CC field to send emails (although IAB a little better to hide the address, but it can still be found if you are the recipient or the sender of this JIU).  In general, this isn't how the malware and hackers work.  That's all simply too cumbersome and time-consuming to do by checking the addresses in the individual emails (if it is possible and very difficult to defend against if they can intercept the mail-, but generally found from the account of the recipient and not the sending account and generally because that most people choose to automatically add new senders of e-mail to their list of contacts and this is where the vulnerability usually occurs).

    Here is an article on the differences between the BCC and CC: http://email.about.com/od/emailnetiquette/a/cc_and_bcc.htm.  You will notice that it addresses of anonymity than the main on safety (but there are benefits of security regarding anonymity and the inabiility of other recipients to view the BCC recipients).

    Most malware and piracy occurs because someone comes to your contact list or address book or see everything simply your email address somewhere (maybe of you sent to someone who has been infected or a real pirate) and uses different techniques to make it look like SPAM and other things they send is from you when you're not actually send anything.  If they arrived at your list of book or contact addresses or someone that you are listed as a contact (probably using another method - I don't think these fields themselves are more susceptible to malware or hacking than anything else on your computer - if they have installed the keystroker malicious software or programs (everything that you type can be made available to them, unless detect you and remove malware or hacking tool), they can send to each of them (probably with an attempt to infect their systems included as well).

    In short, while they are not invulnerable, they are as safe as anything else (although IAB will limit the number of people who see the addresses of any group that can help their share where you don't know if they have been compromised) on your system.  The real problem with the e-mails is not sending them, but to receive for having "a surprise" with her that compromise your system and allows a person access to your contacts or address book - but they will not often also for entries in the messages sent and if they do, then the entries to one of these fields on your computer If it has been compromised is possible (not only e-mails but documents and about anything).

    If you are concerned that these things, use a program to encrypt messages and require recipients to have a decryption code to open.  It can still be broken by a pirate, but is much more difficult and requires a much more sophisticated hacker.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • How to calculate the sum of the fields to fill?

    Hello!

    My question is how can I calculate the sum of filled areas?

    For example, in a PDF document, I have a few fields that must be filled out with name and surname and the end of the document, another field that is the sum of the fields "FullName" which shows how many people is in this document. The operation should not take into account white/empty areas.

    Now, I know that I could do with the simple calculation "(+) sum" but I have to put a '1' for each of this area and I would like to avoid this.

    Yes, it's the first option I described. In this case, you can use this code:

    var total = 0;
    for (var i=1; i<=79; i++) {
        if (this.getField("Nume si prenume "+i).valueAsString!="") total++;
    }
    event.value = total;

  • How to keep the field of filling with default numbers?

    It's hard to describe my question why I've included a screenshot of what I'm working on. In the third column, there is a calculation in the properties of each field to take the number of the field to the left of it (in the middle column) and subtract the number filled in the field everything up (in the middle column). Trying to figure out how to make the numbers in the right column that have not yet been calculated to display a default value (-$ 10,000). I'd rather not see anything until the it's supposed to calculate fields are filled. Or even showing zeros would be better. Is there a solution for this?

    Thank you very much for your time and help!Screen Shot 2014-12-21 at 4.21.48 PM.png

    You must use a custom calculation script which first checks that the two fields are filled in before applying the calculation. It may look like this (of course, set the names of the fields in the first two lines to match those of your file):

    var v1 = this.getField("Field1").valueAsString;
    var v2 = this.getField("Field2").valueAsString;
    if (v1=="" || v2=="") event.value = "";
    else event.value = Number(v1) - Number(v2);
