19BL502B2 no sound with HDMI

I recently bought a new TV: Toshiba 19BL502B2.
When I connect to my computer via HDMI, I get the picture, but no sound.
Some tests I've done:
(1) control Panel-> Sound-> right click on the device-> Test: "could not play the tune test.
(2) computer connected to another TV: works very well
(3) connected to a different computer for this TV: works very well

My display driver and audio driver are updated
The TV firmware is up-to-date.

Anything else I can do?

I presume that this Toshiba TV has only one HDMI port that allows to connect external devices. Generally avoid any problems when you connect external devices like PC/laptop, DVD. Player BD or some sat-receiver.

Unfortunately, I can't tell what can be wrong with that but if possible check if there is a problem with the HDMI port in general. I can't imagine, but what you can try is to connect another device to the HDMI port.

I assume that you have a DVD or BD player. Please, connect it to the HDMI port and test if everything works OK.
From time to time I use my laptop with my LCD TV (not Toshiba one) and it is unclear to me that you must activate something on TV to get its HDMI port.

Please test and send feedback.

    Hello.

I have a Quosmio G50-129. Recently, I tried plugging it into my Sony Bravia LCD TV via the HDMI connection.
I have video output but there is no sound on the TV.

I tried to set the HDMI as audio device as default and the sound level meter in the sound properties panel appears to show activity, but nothing comes out.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

I m not Qosmio G50 owner, I only have the small F50, but it must be identical to yours I think. So first of all, I must say that I never had a problem with the HDMI connection. Everything has worked perfectly since I used the HDMI connection, the first time

In any case, if you connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using the HDMI connection, connect the cable first. After this power on the TV and select the HDMI input right channel. Then go on your laptop and if you press FN + F5, you can change between the different options.

Normally the HDMI output is automatically set as the default audio device, not to follow these workarounds with good screenshots:

  • Satellite U400-11U: no sound with HDMI output

    Hi all

I am the proud owner of a model of satellite U400-11U PSU40E running with Windows Vista.
Recently, I tried to view a video on my TV. To do this, I used the HDMI output of the laptop connected to the TV.

I took care to connect the cable to the TV and only after to the laptop.
Then use the quick access key (Fn + F5), poster image on the TV.
    Unfortunately, there was no noise.

After some googling, I discovered that I needed to activate the HDMI audio output via the control panel of the sound.
Unofrtunatly, when viewing, I have found no output Audio HDMI, but only speakers and another exit (whose name I forgot--sorry).

I tried to update the video and HDMI audio drivers (I noticed that there is a HDMI audio driver in the perpipherals system, which was considered 'work' of Vista), but it changed nothing.

So, what can I do to activate the audio output over HDMI?

    Hello

Please see this FAQ from Toshiba:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401B00001R01.htm

You will find an instruction how to solve this problem... it s about Qosmio G30 but I think it should work on U400 too...

The point is that you must set the S/PDIF audio output by default!

And don t forget to RESTART the laptop after the change was made.

  • HT-CT660 offers video but no sound with HDMI

How do I "learn" the soundbar to 'remember' turn it on using the entry rather than the TV HDMI 3 input?

I use the bar to his HT CT660 Sony with a new Vizio E601i-A3 60 inch LED TV. An HDMI cable connects my provider decoder to connect HDMI-3 in sound bar, and another HDMI cable connects from the HDMI TV OUT connection on the sound bar to the HDMI connection on the TV. By default, the channel of entry of the soundbar is set to 'TV' and the video will appear on the TV in this mode, but there is no audio data. The soundbar input channel must be set to "HDMI-3" in order to get the audio with the video. With this setting, I am able to control the volume of the sound bar with the TV remote control and when I turn the TV, the soundbar is also enabled/disabled. Very well.

The problem is when the TV is turned off and then turned back on. The TV and video works. When the soundbar is turned on, it always starts using the entry rather than the parameter input HDMI-3, even though HDMI-3 was the setting when the TV is off "TV". This means that I can use the TV remote to turn on the TV and the Soundbar, but I have to use the Soundbar remote whenever I turn on the TV to change the input on the 'TV' sound bar to "HDMI-3" to get audio. ""

I would, for the sound bar back to the same entry (i.e. HDMI-3), whenever it is turned on.

How can I configure HDMI-3 to become the default entry fo RL soundbar?

    Thank you

  • Acer Aspire R7-572-6423. no sound with HDMI

    Hello

I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit on the R7.  I got the laptop connected to a receiver and the receiver connected to a TV.  I am able to see my desktop on the TV but I have not any sound through the receiver.  When I look at the reading devices

    Digital audio (HDMI)

    Audio device high definition

    Not plugged

I know it is connected because I see my screen on my TV.

This laptop can send audio via the HDMI connection?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this!

    Thanks for the quick response!

I couldn't select it as default value (it is grayed out).

In fact, I saw a few other posts on updating to the latest drivers Intel 4400, so I just tried.

I installed the 15.33.18.64.3496 version file named win64_153318 on the Intel Web site and that seemed to do the trick!

If I go into device under graphics cards Manager I have an entry of Intel(r) HD Graphics Family that tells me that the driver date is 11/03/2014 and version is 10.18.10.3496.

In any case, I am able to define as device by default now and checked the reading through my receiver (and other areas connected to it) that was exactly what I wanted, so I'm all set.

    Thanks again!

  • Satellite A300-1OM - no sound on TV with HDMI

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 1OM and also a HD in Toshiba TV with HDMI input ports.

I recently bought a HDMI cable to HDMI and attached the laptop to the tv and turned the TV to HDMI channel, and the cell phone confirmed making the sound "new device attached".

However, when I try to use the Fn + F5 and output to the tv, nothing happens. When I choose to use the TV as an external monitor to the tv shows the external display, but only covers the center of the TV, just a little larger than my screen laptop, instead of the full screen, as I had hoped. The sound also remained on the laptop instead of my tv speakers.

Then I tried the "HDMI output" software that came with the laptop computer, and only got the message "it is only effective when the PC is connected to a TV set that supports HDMI control via the HDMI cable.

Finally, I tried the graphics options to click with the right button on the desktop and choosing to watch out, and then using the graphic properties that I managed to increase the resolution on TV, until he was almost the entire screen, but not entirely and again the sound only came out of the laptop.

I'm hoping to be able to watch video files from my laptop HD, but it seems that the video output on my TV is always one notebook quality rather than the HD as I had hoped... I tried to watch "Lost.S05E11.720p.HDTV.x 264 - CTU.mkv" once I have wouldn't finally gone out my laptop to HD TV to a nearly full screen size, but does not recognize the difference between the video on TV and laptop.

Can anyone help? I have read several other similar posts, I checked the BIOS and is enabled in the HDMI display section, but still could not resolve my problem.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    > I hope to be able to watch my laptop HD video files, but it seems that the video output on my TV is always only quality rather than HD specification
    > does not recognize the difference between the video on TV and laptop.

Do you know what that means HD quality?
HD TV supports a maximum resolution of 1280 × 720 px and full HD means that the TV would be able to show HD movies using the resolution of 1920 × 1080.
    A simple old TV supports a resolution of 768 x 576.

Each screen of the laptop is able to show HD videos in HD quality because the screen supports the same or greater resolution!
So you will not notice any difference on laptop or HD TV HD quality video game!

In addition the sound does not come through the speakers of the TV because you didn t, choose the HDMI port as the default audio output (device).

Check this step by step instruction:
    Click Start
    Parameters
    Control Panel
    Material and audio
    Audio/digital output device (HDMI)
    Click the set as default

By default the Vista transmits no sound on HDMI output.  To change this to change the settings in the control panel.

Note: This will turn off sound from speakers or normal audio output on the laptop.  To get that back, you will need to reverse this process.

    a. click on the button 'start '.

    b. click on 'control panel '.
    c. with the control to the "Control Panel Home" Panel, click on 'hardware and sound '.
    d. where it says 'Sound' in green letters, there are three options below that are in blue, click on "manage Audio devices.
    e. This will bring up a window titled "Sound".
    f. on the tab 'Read', he has listed the sound options at your disposal. It should read "peripheral digital output (HDMI)" click on it.

    h. the sound should play through your HDMI connections to the TV.

I have check and out HDMI AMD is selected by default on my pc windows 7 (processor i5, 8 GB ram, AMD HD 5870 graphics card). But under supported formats says 0.

Someone else had this problem? Can someone give me advice on how to solve it?

Sorry mate, but I guess that this issue has nothing to do with the Toshiba TV but your PC settings.
Usually, you have to choose the HDMI (or digital) in the settings of your PC.
Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab

Here you will see all available devices. In order to get the sound through HDMI out you must choose this device as default.

  • Problems with HDMI Port 3/4 on Toshiba 46xv733

    HY everybody,

When I try to connect a device (PC, Xbox, or PS4) HDMI1 or HDMI2 (where everything is fine) for HDMI3 or HDMI4 I can't make them work properly. Resolution passes something a cable not only 30 Hz. When I try to change the resolution (on PC) the photo does not match the screen (for large or too small).

I searched throu the documentation and the Web but can't find info HDMI3/HDMI4 are different from HDMI1/HDMI2.

    The TV is Toshiba 46xv733.

Any suggestion on how to solve this problem would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

In [User Guide | http://www.toshiba-om.net/LCD/PDF/English/XV733-32374046-English.pdf] you can find some information that certain HDMI devices at the beginning may not work properly with your latest HDMI TV due to the adaptation of a new standard.

In this case you must unplug your HDMI cable first, and then try the two options settings. INSTAPORT content type and turn off.
You start HDMI source should work with your TV.

The HDMI 3 seems to be a little different from the HDMI 1 and 2.
3 HDMI supports digital and analog sound.
    HDMI 1 / 2 / 4 supports digital audio ONLY.

The HDMI 3 must be used in order to receive sound from a PC connected (via HDMI to DVI cable).

  • HP PAVILION SLIMLINE S3370.UK: update ATI 2400HD to one with HDMI graphics card

Looking for some advice - I have this HP PAVILLION S3370 with this 2400HD ATI graphics card machine

The reason why I'm looking to upgrade the card is simply for HDMI support. I have bought converters and VGA splitters but had problems with resolutions where I'd get a display on a screen and a message put on the other, so I thought that I should just upgrade the card to one that has two vga and a HDMI output in this way I can project to the second screen and with a card with the sopport software update I should be able to adapt to the screen with scaling options - as I can on my other machine - and yet always use the computer screen when I want to sit at my desk.

The problem I have is the technical terms of the cards. I uderstand that due to having a HP Slimline I need a low profile & PCI Express x 16 card but newer cards make no mention of DDR2 SDRAM - and instead, I know GDDR3 - I'm asuming it is just the memory of the card use - type, but that would be coimpatable with the installation of my machine?

For example this map would be a suitable replacement? EVGA NVIDIA GT 610 Graphics Card - 1 GB If Yes can you contact why. If this is not suitable could make you alternative suggestions - thank you.

I apologize for the niavity of this issue - but it's been years since I have been embarrassed to have to upgrade graphics cards and I forgot the more I find myself with. I am based in the United Kingdom and the machine itself is running Windows 10 - the current graphics card manages the Sturmovik game Sim plane no problem and while I want to really just support HDMI for streaming movies I don't want to lose my support in game.

Thanks for reading and checking links - we appreciate it.

    Hello:

I think you should be able to squeak by with this card and derisory of your PC power supply 160W.

The AMD Radeon attracts a maximum of about 20 Watts and the GT610 around 29 Watts.  IMO, 9 Watts is not that big of a difference to blow your PC power.

I see that it comes with low profile brackets, so there is no problem with this arrangement, etc.

You're right about the memory.  That concern me too much back in the day, that the memory graphics specification did not spec PC's memory.  Graphics memory is independent of the PC's memory, and there is no conflict.

The only thing I don't know... but easy enough to fix.

The PC being produced in 2007 may have a BIOS that does not include how video cards with HDMI ports work regarding audio.

On these old PC several times when you install a video card with HDMI output, the PC think that not only you have installed a video card, but that you have also installed a sound card (because of the HD audio chip on the video card).

Thus, the BIOS only disables the video edge, it also disables the audio system too.

So, after installing the video card and drivers, if your integrated sound card is missing, restart the PC, go into the BIOS, look for the audio setting on Board (it cannot exist without first adding the video card, so there may be no use in looking for it now).  You can watch now of course, but do not be alarmed if it does not exist.

Audio setting will be set to auto or off.

Change the active setting. Save the setting here where you made the change, and again when you exit the BIOS.

After reboot and return to Windows, integrated audio system needs to be restored and the HDMI audio works if HDMI cable connection is detected.

Another reminder... before install you your new video card, make sure that you uninstall the current drivers.

To do this, go to Device Manager, click to expand the category of device display cards, do a right-click on the map of chart amd radeon HD 2400 that there are listed, select uninstall, select uninstall driver.

Do not restart the PC you are prompted.

Go to the menu programs in the Control Panel, then uninstall all current AMD Catalyst software.

Once this is done, stop, disconnect the PC and remove and replace the video card in your PC.

    * Qosmio G50 not sound on HDMI *.

    Hi all

I hope everyone recognizes the following and would be kind enough to help me. I searched the forum and tried several of the solutions proposed mainly apply to Vista, but still.

I hooked up my Qosmio G50 to my Philips LCD HDMI cable. Picture is ok, but there is no sound. I tested the cable with a Toshiba Satellite Pro L550 and it works allright. Image and sound work. But this laptop has Intel HDMI audio.

I am Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit slot. I improved by upgrading Toshiba DVD of Vista 64-bit. Unfortunately I do not know with certainty if the HDMI audio worked before that. I think so because I used the laptop to watch a movie on a Panasonic plasma. But I don't remember if it was before or after the upgrade.

Realtek HD Audio device is installed driver version 6.0.1.5923
Realtek HDMI Output is selected as default playback device.
Test gives me graphic response (flashing) but no sound from my TV.
Choose the other audio device Realtek Digital output doesn't change anything and I do not think it would work anyway.
I tried to remove the device and then reinstalling the original drivers. I tried the REaltek drivers on their site.
I tried to change the HDMI view only but what does nog change anything either.

One thing that worries me is that, under his / Realtek HDMI Output / Properties / he supported Formats are no current format. The satellite gives me audio DTS and others. So I wonder if there should be present formats and if so, how can I change that / add a few.

Please forgive me if there are mistakes in the text. I translate this to a Dutch version of Windows 7.

Please help me. All suggestions are welcome!
