  Windows Update ran on August 3 and August 4, 2010. After one of these updates, I lost sound. How will I know that update has been the cause of my loss of sound? I have to go remove each update one by one until I have to get sound or y at - it an easier way? I am running Windows XP as SP3 OS.

  You have several sound devices on your system? for example , is there an audio set (blue, pink and green 1/8 "female audio taken audio) on your motherboard, as well as a set on an expansion card?  If so, you may need to select the correct sound playback and recording device in the tab "sounds and Audio devices" control panel "Audio".

  Recently I did a system restore, after that my computer has crashed and everything seems to be OK except for the lack of noise coming from my speakers. This isn't an uncommon problem because I found a bunch of stuff on Google, but nothing I tried worked for me and I'm frustrated. I tried to uninstall the device from Device Manager, but even if I have it and restart the computer, he manages to resettle in any case, and yet I still have no sound.
