• ESSBASE & PLANNING USER TYPE SETTING

  Hi all
  
  We use the ESsbase and planning implementation.
  
  some of our face to users as a matter of 'Not allowed access to Essbase' or 'not allowed access to the planning. When we looked for the reason, we found as the user not having the two 'Essbase & Planning' as access to applications in the EA-> Essbase Server-> Security
  
  So, on this basis, select us the users manually in HSS and select the two 'Essbase & Planning' as the type of user for them.
  
  It is all utilityto perform this task.
  
  First of all, I need to list users who have not 'Essbase & Planning' as user type
  
  Secondly, I would like to change their settings in order to access the applications...
  
  Any help is appreciated!

  You can use maxl to set the application type
  For example

  ALTER user user_name add application_access_type Essbase;

  or

  ALTER user user_name add application_access_type planning;

  There is a CubeRefresh.cmd utility which refreshes planning to Essbase. You can find it in planning > Bin directory (whose location varies depending on which version you use). Take a look at the doc to help below:

  I'm totally new in & Essbase, my only experience in Business Intelligence BusinessObjects Reporting/Administration and OracleBI/Oracle Data Integrator. My company is planning to create a project using Essbase and planning. I create in very little time showing some demo planning capabilities of this platform, then learn more about this technology. I have installation EMP + Essbase, Planning, and then cross EPM System Configurator. Now I need to create the new application, I guess, but I have the problem with the addition of Administration Server. After typing the host and server port response message back running. But I can not authenticate with the credentials of the administrator... I put the username and pass set up in the Essbase Administration Services of EPM System Configurator window, but I get the message:
  
  "User name or password is not correct, or there is a problem with the administration server"
  
  How can I solve this?
  
  Moreover, I will be very happy if someone gives me links to some "Wink" or demos according to the example configuration of EMP Essbase and planning

  You can create a member of formula to account for the number of days in the month. It should look something like below. You must also include check year no.. of days in February (to assign 29 for leap years).

• How to load text to member values in essbase/planning? (datatype = text)

  Has anyone faced the problem of trying to load data to the members defined as a text data type? You have done this thru smartview, or did you use something more complex, like SUN using planning adapter?
  
  The user has the possibility to enter data for this member planning Web form and get it back, but we were unable to load data from a file.
  
  We first tried to use excel add, until we discovered that essbase stores not really text for the Member, but instead, it stores a reference to a relational table planning, where the text is actually stored. Thus, we try to use smartview to connect to the planning application and load the values for this member, but we have been unable to do.
  
  Due to operational requirements, we are unable to use the planning cell text feature. We actually
  
  So, shed light on how to solve this problem? have you used a DIM as ODI ETL tool to load in the planning? Use a Api?

  ODI can certainly do it, but as you use EPMA, it should be a no usual route.

• Best way to migrate (RDBMS and Essbase) planning data between systems

  Hello. I need to migrate data from planning (fact data relationship of Planning (time and text comments) and Essbase). Migration of Essbase is relatively simple (migration of Essbase dimension data and then export and reload fact Essbase data) but I'm not sure on the best way to migrate relational data 100% done. Should I do a dump of the schema and then migrating the other system of planning? Thank you.

  Could someone help me understand scope interms of the labour market... 1 OBIEE or 2. EPM, ESSBASE and planning. Which is the right decision (1 or 2) to focus on?

  You insist to make an apples to apples comparison when you don't have apples.

  Essbase and OBIEE aren't the same thing. Yes, they have features overlap, as do many tools, but they are not the same. Essbase is a calc engine / tool MOLAP. OBIEE is a tool to create front end reporting dashboards and reports. Yes OBIEE has a semantic layer able to do calculations, but making an OLAP tool.

  They are different products with different goals, you can't load your budget into OBIEE.

  What if all you want is an analytical report of an ERP and OBIEE should do. If you want to work with these data, calculate differently, do '' If '' analysis, etc., then you should consider Essbase.

• Installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 & EMP 11.1.2.4 (Essbase, Planning, RA)

  I need to install EMP 11.1.2.4 and OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1

  I want to use a big 1 server for all these installation. I would use the same instance of the WebLogic Server.

  Issues related to the:

  1. Is there a command that I should follow? First install EMP and OBIEE or vice-a-verse?
  2. UCR! Yet once related to the first question. I want to use the same instance of Weblogic server, which remote control to run first... ?? or can I run EMP and OBIEE UCR, one after the other and then continue with the rest of the installation?
  3. Is that what someone has tried the integration of the last EMP 11.1.2.4 with OBIEE (Comes with EMP 11.1.2.3 but I wanted to use 11.1.2.4)? Please let us know of your experiences... Should I keep in mind...?

  1. If the process of registration of the request of Hyperion Essbase/Planning/HFM is enabled or disabled by someone, it is captured in any newspaper?
  2. If changes are made to one of the Planning/Essbase/HFM application events, then he is captured in any newspaper?
  3. If changes are made to one of the Planning/Essbase/HFM configuration files that affect the start to the top of the application, then he is captured in any newspaper?
  4. If the Planning/Essbase/HFM application is started or stopped, then he is captured in any newspaper?

• Automate disabling connections Planning to Essbase

  Is it possible to disable the connection Hyperion Essbase planning without manually placing the Hyperion Planning application in administrator mode?

  You don't mention the version, but if you use 11.1.2.1 + then you can use a command line utility to upgrade the application of planning in maintenance mode.
