You might be able to get away with the registry key to copy it from another computer in Windows 7 (using the Export function) and then import them into your own machine (using the function of merger for import).

  • Renamed Recycle Bin

I returned to my computer after leaving it on overnight to find my trash has a new name ": {450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103} (2) '."  I can't change this back. Help most appreciated. Windows XP Professional installs

I wonder how that came from... is the virus/malware free machine?  Do you use cleaning tools and 'tweak' registry?

The name of the Recycle Bin is held in the registry at:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

Look at the (default) value, it stores the name of the Recycle Bin.

If you cannot rename or if the trash does not correctly reset it.  Go tohttp://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and merge the file "replace/repair Recycle Bin in Windows XP" in the registry, see line 64, right hand.

How can I go back to correct title.

The trash is still working OK. It's just the logo of office that has this digital title and I can't get the

Instruction "Rename" in the drop down menu the menu highlighted so that I can use it.

The machine is an Equium A60 - 157 running Windows XP SP2

    Hello

    I've found this workaround short:

    1. start the registry (type regedit in RUN)
    2 open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder
    3. open the CLSID folder
    4 open the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folder
    5 open the ShellFolder folder
    6. change the data value of 'Attributes' of the ' 40 01 00 20 "to"50 01 00 20".". "
    7. change the DWORD "CallForAttributes" at "0x00000000" (double click and change value data to 0).
After this procedure, the option rename must appear in the drop-down menu when you right click on the Recycle Bin icon.

It would be nice if someone could answer this question, as it is 8 months old.

Click Start, type regedit.exe, and then press ENTER.

    Reach:

  • How do I report an error?

I want to report a bug in Windows 7 Pro (64 and 32 b versions) and would like to know which is the right way to do it.

It is a minor error, but it is a little annoying:
If you customize your desktop view and change the desktop icons using the control panel
See: Appearance and personalization-online customization-online Change desktop icons.

The trash icon not automatically change between full and empty when it should do.
This is because the windows routine which changes the name of the icons in the register don't forget to put a ', 0' end of the value.
Right keys should look like this:

    Key:
    \DefaultIcon HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CLSID\ {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

    Values (example):
    @ (default) REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Folder Icons\Recycle - Full.ico, 0
    void REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Folder Icons\Recycle - Empty.ico, 0
    full %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Folder Icons\Recycle REG_EXPAND_SZ - Full.ico, 0

The ', 0' at the end lines must currently be changed manually by the user after having their customization.
It is not a big problem, but Microsoft cannot expect users to do this.

    (c) error compiling Solution support: Support of the Solution package install content file (path model stubs) is not a cross-validated against the registry editing functions and editing the registry data have a typo of file name.

  • Not able to make a new folder

I have a laptop HP Windows 7.  I tried to create a new folder in several locations photos and Documents, as well as on my Sandisk Flash Drive and it does not allow me too.  I click the button new folder on top of the box of windows Explorer and nothing happens. I even try right-click and scroll down to New but it shows new folder here.

Thank you very much. I had to try more than one thing, they provided, and finally it worked. I was going to give up, but I'm happy that I kept scrolling down and reading the other posts to see if there was something else that might work.

Above is the last entry in your previous post, which could be the culprit. I have no idea what it is, do recognize the location or the name or what program it is "related" to?

In addition, I don't know what the missing relative to the mshtml.dll message.

    Method 1.
Follow the steps described in the article below and check if it solves the problem.
Cannot open files with extensions such as.exe, .com, and.lnk on a Windows XP-based computer
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923077

    Method 2.
Let us put the LNK file extension and check. Copy the code (in bold) in a Notepad and save it as LNK.reg below
Now, click on the LNK.reg file and install it.

  • I unchecked the "notify me when this connection is limited or no connectivity" for my windows wireless and LAN connections, but the icons still appear in sys tray when it is disconnected.

    Hello

I use my Intel client to manage my wireless network connection in Windows XP Pro SP3. (I need to use the Intel client because it supports protocols wireless not supported by the Windows client).

I would like to remove the icon from the system tray/notification area Windows wireless network connection and cannot find a way to do it.

I opened the network connections, right click and choose 'properties' and in the general tab at the bottom there are two check boxes "Show icon in notification area when connected" and "notify me when this connection is limited or not connectivity ' which I disabled (I did it for my local network also), but the icons still appear in the status bar when it is disconnected.

    Any suggestions?
    Thank you
    Bob

I found a registry change that removes the icon in the systray.  One needs only to remove these keys (save the first):

  • Why is text missing in the contextual menu new while in the root of C?

So, here's the thing, when I right click on the desktop I get the context menu, and when I hover over the option new I get all sorts of options.

    • Folder
    • Shortcut
    • Flash ActionScript file
    • Contact
    • Microsoft Word document
    • The journal paper
    • Microsoft PowerPoint presentation
    • TI Connect Data File
    • Text document
    • Microsoft Excel worksheet
    • Briefcase

But if I have C:\ in Windows Explorer and right click then all that I get are the ability to create a new folder.

    • Folder

What is happening with this? This is normal behavior in Windows? Some control those kind of parents is imposed by Microsoft to prevent me from "change disastrous" system? I know the meaning of the word 'context' - as in 'popup' - so I think it's maybe the way it is supposed to be? Different options according to the context?

Here's the funny part. If I get a subdirectory as C:\AMD I once more of the available options. So why is the root of C from the creation of new files, so that I can still make new files in its subdirectories?...

I merged a Reg file, I downloaded Vistax64 Web site in my Windows registry that is supposed to add this option to the system. It does not solve the problem. Apparently, a lot of Vista users have had problems with several of the missing options in the new context menu, or persist them. I've been using Vista before SP1 came out and have never seen this problem before. Although in my case, it is not totally absent! It's more like a partial problem. Both, I have and I do not have! Why?... What's wrong?

    Hi Samir,

This is part of a safety device in Windows 7 to avoid elements, shortcuts to be registered directly on the system drive (c :) drive). This is why you are able to see the other new features in the other drive letters independent of the system. If you see the root folder, it still contains a minimum files that are installed by the operating system.

If you still want to create shortcuts in the root of the drive, you can create them on the desktop and paste it into the root of the drive. However, we suggest you not to do.

I also see that you are using some registry fixes, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly.

Hope the above information is useful, if you have any questions you can post them here.

  • Error 2738 could not access VBScript Runtime for custom action

Well, I have the same problem error 2738 could not access VBScript run time for action custom when I try to install incredimail I just do a restore to factory in the last 2 days I do not even have all yet loaded things back and I came across this problem so here is my contact information and what I tried already :

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium Service pack 2 32 bit
I use Mcafee and installed and after reading just down to you ensure that I uninstalled and ran the cleaner program suggested and she has still not work, I reinstalled and not yet did not work so I've currently uninstalled again and the vacuum again 3 times
I ran all the advice from the command prompt still does not work
I tried to delete the registry entry suggested HKCU\SOFTWARE \Classes\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}, but he's not here to remove
I ran this command suggested reg delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\ {B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8} and I think that maybe it wasn't a good idea but may not know whether it was or not.
Then I read in this thread on Mcafee to a registry entry and redirecting somewhere it should not so I went to look at and that's what I found:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8} \InprocServer32 - default REGSZ C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\McAfee\SystemCore\ScriptSn.20110417221023.dll
and no I have not yet reinstalled McAfee and ran to the 3 times vacuum why is there always a register McAfee entry I followed the path C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\SystemCore\ScriptSn.20110417221023.dll and guess what it's not exist, and yes I looked into the hidden files I even ran a search in all files and it is not anywhere
I had already run the sfc/scannow once before I deleted the McAfee and it found corrupted files, but said they have been fixed as well, I ran again just to check and this time no errors
HELP, I am at a loss of what to next in addition to another factory restore which I really really DON'T want to because I have an I had my computer since February 2007 as well as the amount of updates to Vista I need to do well is all together besides the Service Pack 1 and 2 there are more than 300 reviews have even not looked optional and yet if pardon my language is a pain in one @.
    Please can someone HELP!

    Whoo Hoo!

Someone told me how to change the permissions on the registry key and DUH! I knew how to do this, so I changed the and then changed the key to C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\SystemCore\ScriptSn.20110417221023.dll TO C:\\Windows\\system32\\vbscript.dll
Restarted checked and then ran the installation for incredimail and IT WORKED!
Thank God I've been playing with this for 2 days I really doesn't want to have to do another restore of factory which is what I was about to

  • Can't find script engine "VBScript" for...

I have a lot of files in VB Script I execute to do various things on my computer.  Yesterday, I started getting an error popup with the text displayed in the title of this post.  The additional information was the actual path/file that I was trying to run.  It's also manifests itself in my event viewer I'm unable to receive "online help" because of the same error pop up.

What became of my script processor?  I can find "wscript.exe" in my system32 directory, and it seems to work because I can bring up the host settings dialog box, but this is as far as I can go.  Any idea on how to re-enable this feature?

    Bill

    The entry is:

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8} \InprocServer32]
    @= "C:\\Program Files\\Alwil Software\\Avast5\\AhAScr.dll"

The registry key should point to the following:

    C:\Windows\system32\vbscript.dll

See the post ninth in the following thread:

To change the value data, you may need to change the permissions on the key.
