  If you do not need, of course.

  Just to be safe, manually set a system restore point. Then, go into Device Manager and look for the FAX modem. Right-click and select uninstall to uninstall the driver, so you will only get the error messages about "device not found". Manager of output devices and shut down.

  Unplug the PC and the power button press / hold for ~ 15 sec open the case and remove the modem card. Install an empty PCI housing to cover the empty space to keep the dust/dirt off the case and maintain the normal air flow. Close the case, and you should be good to go.

  I tried to set my daughter-in-laws Inspiron 6000 for these past few weeks.

  Problem: No LCD screen after the blue bar of Windows.

  Actions:

  Last RELOADED, video driver (ATI MobilityRadeon X 300), Bios (A09), adjustment and Support of Dell diagnostics.  .

  An external monitor works fine.

  A ran the last video diagnostics (from CD) and passes LCD display all tests.

  The system is not in standby mode when the lid is closed, even if the option is enabled.

  It seems that the hard drive on your A30 is in the optical drive, and you must remove all first the STRANGE before you get access to the HARD drive.

  Laptop works very well when it's on AC power. But when I remove the power and operate the battery mode, display will judge. I checked with the setting in windows vista, it is on the high performance setting, i.e. the same brightness for battery and plug-in mode. But do not have the same brightness on battery mode.   1. Are you referring to the bitlocker password?
  2. You have activated the Bit locker on hard drive?

  Your HARD drive password is different from your BIOS password. Your BIOS password is stored in the computer, but your HARD drive password is stored in the drive itself. Thus, even the HARD drive unit is deleted from a computer and attached to the other, the HARD drive password is needed to access.

• How do you insert/remove the HDD in the T5500?

  I want to remove and put back in a hard drive.   I don't know how many screws and which screws to remove to do.

  I can't remove the screws more that I need to.  And I see that maybe if I unscrewed the wrong screw then black Assembly will detach the metal grame.

  In the photo below, see two screws on top that are fairly close together. I let them ' cos I think they can join the Assembly and I don't want to unscrew the Assembly - the brackets that hold the hard drive, I don't have to

  And to the bottom of the image, you see two screws unscrewed, but the one I found that I could not even remove the hard disk.  And there is a little black thing between them that looks like a screw, but is not.

  I guess I could remove all 4 screws, but then the Assembly could come off.   For now, I just want to remove the hard drive.

  Lift the blue ejector arm and the drive is kindof pryed out.

  The ejector arms have a PIN that goes into the screw holes to hold the reader in.  Once you raise the Lock ejector you lift a little far and out on this side.  The other side has fixed pins.

  I put t know how it works with your external HARD drive, but if I want to remove my HARD drive safely the new window opens and I get a USB mass storage device called option.

  If I mark this USB mass storage device and press STOP then a new window opens and I get 3 different devices;
  -USB mass storage device
  -Generic volume
  -USB HDD device

  If I score the first two options then my HARD drive crashes but if I choose the last of them then I can remove the HARD drive safely

  I hope that you use the correct and just HARD drive password because it of necessary to remove and delete the existing HARD disk password.
  If you have forgot the password for HARD drive then the HARD drive should be locked and you would not be able to unlock the HARD drive!

  Generally, the HARD drive password can be deleted in the BIOS.
  Please ensure that another password would be removed too.
