  • A few questions regarding the hardware upgrade and the games on Satellite Pro 2100

    Hey,.

I thought that posting this here because it's more about the lines for the games I could think on another topic.

I'll get to the point... Basically, I bought a laptop from a guy that my friend knew. He barely used this laptop and didn't know anything about computers, and he tried to avoid as much as possible. So he got rid of this laptop for me for real cheap.

Now I got it, I had expected either of two things with the laptop.

    (1) what I'll use it so I can sit in his bed and travel a little bit while having files, movies, music and internet access. (it wasn't my main idea)

    Or

    (2) it allows to play video games on it, or to update, so I have a better chance to do so.

I was hoping to get for video games, mainly for my brother to use because his computer is lagging a lot while playing world of Warcraft. I was hoping that this notebook would give him a better experience for a while.

But as I was installing the game on this, I noticed that the disk space is low, so I'm going to buy an external hard drive, so I can send files between the PC and the laptop, and I got an error message saying that the RAM was under "minimum requirements" for WoW.

So I know that I got to level it with something big, but I know not what, so I'm not quite sure that this laptop will run the game at a decent rate. So I thought that I turn to a computer forum and ask.

    It's my laptop;
    [Satellite Pro 2100 PS210E | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 45659 ie]

This laptop will do the job don't you think?
Or it will be better for simpler things, or less if I had the ram to 1gig?

I don't know much on the laptop, and I'm not really willing to spend too much on fixing, if it's just a change of the ram, then it wouldn't cost much for than to upgrade around 1gig.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that this notebook belongs to an older series laptop.
It was equipped with the 1.8 Celeron CPU, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB or 30 GB HARD drive and a 16MB graphics card internal.

What you can do is upgrade the RAM up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) and the HARD drive. But I think that the maximum size of HARD drive that would be recognized by the BIOS is 120 GB.
I think that the laptop supports one IDE controller and it limited because of the 28-bit LBA HARD drive size.

So finally, it is important to mention that you can not pass the graphics card because it s soldered onto the motherboard. Upgrading the CPU is not possible or very difficult.

I come to the conclusion that you will not be able to play games of new generation on this machine. The hardware specs are maybe too low a few simple games would run on this laptop but I'm sure that other newer games will not run smoothly.

    Welcome them

  • "Dell Backup and Recovery" asking the upgrade with the inspiron 15 model

    Hello

I'm new to this forum and also started to use the Dell laptop. I bought Dell Inspiron 15 (model 3521) 01-Jan-2014. I am trying to take backup of my laptop on a DVD. When I clicked on 'Backup and restore of Dell' app in app Manager. I try to click on backup system option 'Dell backup and recovery' section, its upgrade premium or enter key. Its not that allows to create backup DVDs.

What may be the issue? Because when I bought it, seller said that his original one.

It's part a scam from Dell.  I've got 5 Dell portable computers/computers / tables all have this software on it with a VERY limited useage then weekly or if I get a pop window op offering the upgrade at a special price which, in the end, is the same price as if you would have just bought or 'improved' (like Dell likes to call it) the program to a regular price which IS : 39.99.

What I hate about businesses, in particular, the one that I spend a lot of money with it, is when they think they can put a quick access on me or in my case 5 times that I have 5 of these upgrade special offer windows popping up each week.

You're better off getting programs like Goodsync which will back up your computer or synchronize your files on an external hard drive, and that you can use on all of your computers for only $29.99.  I use it on my servers and my offices.

Otherwise good luck with Dell and their implementation to special day called 'offer' that is the price of retail, after all.  NOT COOL DELL ALL!

  • tools and hardware upgrades through the update after the upgrade Manager

If I run a base line to upgrade tools and equipment of vmware, then choose restore, is a clever enough Update Manager to make tools first and then perform the upgrade of hardware vm? I have a few machines I moved from 4.1 to 5.1 and the two operations must be made. I don't know if I have to do both together or separately.

This logic is incorporated in the Update Manager if you use grouping Baseline: basically, create a group with the material and baselines Tools, join group reference VM (s) that interest you and to fix. Otherwise, you can make sanitation through autonomous base lines - in this case, you would need address first, then hardware tools.

  • hardware upgrade to the 15-g010nr

I bought a HP 15-g010nr a few weeks ago and I was wondering

What other processors I can update and the amount of RAM is support?

    The CPU is currently

    AMD E2-series

    E2-6110

is tehre any better for this laptop processor?

    Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

On the AMD models, the CPU is soldered to the motherboard and there is only 1 RAM slot. The specs say 2 DIMM, but if you read the manual carefully Intel models have 2 slots and can take up to 16 GB of RAM and AMD models have 1 slot and can take up to 8.

More bad news. This laptop is not really scalable without major disassembly and the cancellation of the guarantee and costs, it would be a bad idea to hire. Upgrading RAM requires the removal of the motherboard. Unless you can do this procedure very tedious and detailed yourself the cost of paying a technician to do it will be close to the bargain price you probably paid for the laptop. This class of laptop is a great leader of loss and they regularly sell for less of $300US, right?

I certainly feel your pain. The AMD E2 is a Quad Core processor but it's 1.5 ghz and I think some mobile phones and tablets could give him a run for his money. It is great for aunt Martha check his email and Facebook but no serious calculation and the game is out of the question. Moreover, I do not work for HP.

  • Hardware upgrade of the mobile

    I use

HP 2000-2106TU (Intel Celeron - 2 GB - 500 GB - BACK - 15.6 ")... Intel Celeron Dual Core B830 - 1.8 Ghz... Laptop... and you want to upgrade my process to i5 or i3... Is it possible to do this with my current motherboard and it will help me have a better performance... Except that it is possible to get a new motherboard in the same system...

If your current motherboard chipset INTEL Express HM70 it only supports the Intel® Pentium® and Celeron® processors.  Based on the processor you report as it is installed and your notebok HP product name, which would be the case.

You can check that by downloading and running the free and secure utility called CPU -Z.  Select the motherboard tab to see what is installed in what concerns the chipset.

The cost of a motherboard (which is a laptop PC motherboard) and new CPU + new modules of memory is not really a cost-effective upgrade.

You would be better to replace the notebook with one that has the equipment and capabilities you want.

  • The hardware upgrade and the cabinet on a PC running genuine Win XP!

Hello... I use Beanstalk (Bought in 2002) HCL with original Win XP and I want to change the old motherboard (microATX) and the processor and the ram for a breakthrough because I had more problems with the former. But because of my size the new motherboard (ATX), I have to change the furniture too. The firm HCL contains the thumbnail of Windows authentication. I'll change the furniture and equipment and sell the former. How to change the windows license from the old to the new configuration without having to purchase a new license?

A sticker placed on the PC "case" tends to mean that it is an OEM version.  OEM versions, by the terms of license AGREEMENT, are "forever" related to the first PC that is installed on.  The 'sense' standard and accepted PC can also be interpreted as 'mother '.  Substitute her means that the motherboard you would have a new PC at the end of the "improvements".

I tried to set my daughter-in-laws Inspiron 6000 for these past few weeks.
Problem: No LCD screen after the blue bar of Windows.

Last RELOADED, video driver (ATI MobilityRadeon X 300), Bios (A09), adjustment and Support of Dell diagnostics.  .
    An external monitor works fine.
A ran the last video diagnostics (from CD) and passes LCD display all tests.
When you display the view tab in the properties of the video, it shows the connected monitor (if you use the external monitor) and shows the LCD screen as 'Not connected', even if the lid is open.
The system is not in standby mode when the lid is closed, even if the option is enabled.
Conclusion: The lid switch must be faulty.

Has anyone replaced the cover switch in the Inspiron 6000?   If so, what is the part number and where can buy the switch?

  • Snapshot before VM hardware upgrade?

    Hello people,

I read a lot of conflicting information around it, so thought I would ask here.

We are going to be upgrade to vSphere 4.0 soon and of course will focus on the hardware upgrade of the virtual computer to version 7.

Now, if I take a snapshot before you do the upgrade of HW and it goes pearshaped can I go back to the snapshot and the server will work?

Or is it a one-way change, even with a snapshot in place?

Same Xtravirt, which are usually about money, seems a bit confusing:

    They say:

"When you upgrade virtual hardware version 3 to version 7, the upgrade is irreversible, even if you take a backup of virtual machine or a snapshot before you perform the upgrade.

Then later in the same article:

"using snapshots will give you the opportunity to come back if there is a problem."

    Thanks in advance.

HW version 3 refers to the VM for instance ESX 2.x (see KB1003746 - versions of virtual machine hardware)

I never upgraded to this version, so I can't say whether this is true or not. However, it is possible to return to a HW version 4 improved virtual computer. VUM proposes explicitly to take a snapshot before upgrading hardware.
