Host in hcmon.sys plant

My system: WinXP SP3 running VMWare Workstation 6.5.3 (6.5.1 fails as well)

My VM: WinXP SP3

I have a device connected to my host - USB this is a device developed in-house using the winusb driver. Start the virtual machine, this device will automatically connect to the virtual machine. As soon as I disconnect this device (i.e. try to connect to the host), I get a BSOD. Also has anyone seen this problem? Tell the virtual machine does not automatically connect devices at startup allows me to continue working.

I enclose a minidump file that is created after the crash. He points to hcmon.sys. Here is the output in windbg:

I check the server system property and I see that we use ADAPTEC Serial ATA RAID host as storage next to Microsoft iCSCI and ADAPTEC RAID SCSI Disk Device 500 GB HD controller initiator.
I also see that ADAPTEC Serial ATA RAID host uses aarahci.sys as a pilot, I check the driver, it's the most recent driver.
My question is the same as I understand that there is something wrong with the driver, but I don't know what really happened. Maybe the driver is not good, the disc has fault or we do not have enough memory (our server has only 4 GB of RAM and memory load is still > 80%, sometimes it reached 96% and current Page File is 4265 MB)
Can someone help me to point out what exactly happens with the error above?

Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Aspire driver V3 - 772 G Windows 8.1 USB 3.0 problem

    Hi all

    I bought my V3 - 772G 1 months ago about.

Yesterday everything worked well and today, I noticed that none of the 4 USB ports were working (laptop was suspended since yesterday)

No USB not connected, nothing. Key/mouse USB/hard drives /... does not work.

I noticed that in Device Manager, I had problems with the ' USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver "that the driver was not loaded. I've seen people online saying to uninstall and restart the computer. That and once again no operation USB, Device Manager, the device with problems was now "Compliant Host Controller xHCI USB".

I tried WITHOUT success to the following:

-Downloaded ' USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver "Intel has failed (available only for W7) - Web site

    -Restart windows full - same

-Disconnecting the battery and power for a few minutes, restarted - even

-Remove all USB devices (hubs and so forth), restarted - even

-Uninstalled all updates of 2 days before (to the point that I know that it worked) - pilot months before change - same result dates

-Tried to search the BIOS to disable USB3.0 and put 2.0 - not found

-Tried to get back to another restore - point na not work, complained that the disc is maybe damaged

-Widnows run chkdsk/r several times - no error found - nothing resolved

-Run chkdsk/r - stuck at 16%, but I guess that needs all night (TODO) - solved anything

-Tried to do a repair without losing files (using recovery partitions) - always guess how

Any idea or any help? They just stop working. I plug laptop already with windows 8.1 and they worked for 1 month

    Thank you

    -UPDATE1-

I used the command-line (via recovery windows at startup) and copied all the files from backup drive (I assume) X:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usb* on the local drive C:\Windows\System32\Drivers

    Rebooted - still nothing

    [Solved]

    Here's what you can try:

    (1) ensure that the ntbtlog.txt file located in C:\Windows it is removed (to clean the logs)

    (2) to activate the startup log check which driver loading fails:

    Option A:

    (1) open administrator command prompt

    (2) write "bcdedit/set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy" to allow the start of legacy with F8 (don't forget to change the settings after this guide)

    (3) reboot and press F8

    (4) select this option to start with active log

    Option B:

    1) press "WIN + R" and write "msconfig".

    (2) in the Startup tab, select the option "Startup journal."

    (3) to apply the changes and reboot (remember to change the settings after this guide)

    (3) check the drivers failed in the log (C:\Windows\ntbtlog.txt) file (in my case I got "ucx01000.sys" driver failure)

    (4) after researching online (Source) I saw the USB3.0 stack consists of 3 files of accommodation with the xHCI Host Controller: Usbhub3.sys, Ucx01000.sys and Usbxhci.sys.

    (5) restart the laptop and press 'ALT + F10' to enter in the menu ACER recovery

    (6) select "Troubleshooting", then "Advanced Options", then "Command Prompt"

    (7) you will be located in the "X:" drive and the folder "system32" of the recovery unit

    (8) write "cd drivers.

    (9) "copy write Usbhub3.sys C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\" (if you are asked to overwrite, answer "Yes")

    (10) "copy write Ucx01000.sys C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\" (if you are asked to overwrite, answer "Yes")

    (11) writing "copy Usbxhci.sys C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\" (if you are asked to overwrite, answer 'Yes')

    (12) write 'exit '.

    (13) restart your laptop, and you should be able to use USB again

    (14) disable the startup option if you used Option B.

In my case, the "Ucx01000.sys" file was missing in the drivers folder.

Attached is the log of the OFS Cluster Dump (no error in my opinion).

I surfed around but I can't find anything to solve the problem.

I think something about the language of the (Italian) OS and Oracle NLS settings (AMERICAN. AMERICA), but obviolsly I'm not sure about this.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion,

    Alessandro

    Hello Alessandro.

    Solution to the issue is:

Patch 20744940: 4.1.1.1: ORACLE FAIL SAFE VERSION 4.1.1 PATCH SET 1

  • Installation of VMWare after Win8 upgrade problems

I'm having a problem reinstalling VMWare Workstation 8 on Windows 8.

    I followed all the steps from http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1308

After running the vacuum and manually removing each step of the process. I'll reinstall the latest version on the VMWare Web site.

I can do everything except remove C:\Windows\system32\drivers\hcmon.sys from my system.

Do not let this stop me, I went, when I run 'VMware-workstation-full - 8.0.5 - 893925"under a local administrator account that I meet problems.

E:\VMware-Workstation-full8.0.5-xxx.exe (I get the following popups)

    • Error 1923. VMware Server authorization (VMAuthdService) service could not be installed. Make sure you have sufficient privileges to install system services.  [Abort Retry Ignore]

    • Error 1923. VMware Server authorization (VMWareHostD) service could not be installed. Make sure you have sufficient privileges to install system services.  [Abort Retry Ignore]

    • The MSI "C:\Users\Admin~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Vmware-135202373\vmware workstation.msi" failed. [Ok]

    Then the installation stopped.

I scanned the Installer logs, but do not see anything extraordinary. Ideas?

Ko was useful up to version 7 - it doesn't work anymore

Do you use a right-click "run as Administrator" when you try to install it?

you really need to remove all the drivers before trying again - if necessary, use a liveCD windows to delete files

  • encryption method (password starting with 06)

Our company gave us a recommendation:

"Old DB link encrypted password: . Links the password of the Oracle databases are encrypted using THE (password starts with 05). This methord of encryption is known, and users can decrypt passwords using a simple SQL query. Please re-create the database links to use the new method of encryption (password starting with 06). »

What this means and how we can make this recommendation?

    Hi Artem,

You can try to drop and recreate the database links after that make sure compatible parameter is set to the current

version and also this parameter sec_case_sensitive_logon = TRUE?

The old passwords version probably found with a sql like this:

    Select name, host, username in sys.link$ where MAS as ' 05% ';

    Kind regards

    Michel

I told you before moving the dump file on the database server where you want to import, and then import it. And check that this directory dp_dir is present on the server or not. If this is not the case, then imp by using the directory is present.

  • HP hardware - parameter ASR?

We have the intention to extinguish ASR on all of our ESX boxes? What is a recommended practice or not a good idea?

    REAL!

I recommend you to disable the ASR in VMware environments. I've dealt with this quite a long time. Host abrupt reboots will happen and there's enough fair chance, you're going to suffer a downtime for virtual machines.

I agree to a certain extent, that the downtime of the VMs will be there if the host memory crashes, sys, failures etc, which will allow the ASR to kickin, what is good, as told by HP... But once again the threshold ASR of manipulation of these accidents are quite high.

Disable ASR prevented sudden reboots HOST as many usual crash restarts.

My vote for your question will go to DISABLE the ASR!

  • Installation of the remote control problem

    Hello

I want to install in the rcu on linux, so I went to the rcuhome/bin path and then run the command. / rcu (TI throwed the error "undefined DISPLAY.
Set the DISPLAY environment variable, and then run again. »)

so I tried to adjust the display as: $ export DISPLAY = 101.23.100.1:0.0 and checked in the env, it displays the same thing.

but after setting the display when it run the same command again. / UCR he throwed error as below:

    any help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello
Yes, 100% you must have privileges to SYS. You cannot proceed without it. When you run the rcu utility, it will ask for db host, port, sid, SYS username, password. NOW, this remote is a great giant sql Script (s), which creates schemas, and Tablespaces, users, Tables, views, sequences, etc.. Regional coordinating unit must therefore details SYS. Some people will try to manually create these 2 patterns such as bi_platform, bi_mds and try to run the RCU. But it won't work.

An option is, give the UCR Zip file to your SYS DBA self-introduction. Give him instructions. As unpack it and run the rcu.bat file. Its very simple. It takes about 15 meters. Procedure step by step, you can and let DB guys to do themselves.

And Yes, you can run the RCU from any operating system like Windows or Linux. So in your case use Windows. All you need is db host, port, sid, user name, password for SYS SYS. That's all.

    Thank you
    Ravi Jegga

  • Wrong password for the user

I read 2 day s/n. Now, I'm Chapter 9. I want to read and practice.
    1. I open Enterprise Manager
    2. then enter username: sys
    password: *.
    3 Enterprise Manager opened.
    4. then I opened the backup schedule Page
5 but when I enter username and password and click Ok this time appeared:

Error - connection to the host as user sys failed: ERROR: wrong password for the user

I did it with also HR user.
    This time appeared
Error - connection to the host as user hr has failed: ERROR: wrong password for the user

    Because you must use
The host credentials. It is not oracle usename, it's operating system user account.
under linux, you can use oracle (membership group DBA) user in windows as administrator
in windows, run parameters-online control panel > administration tools-online DCA political security-online user rights => logon as a work of bach and then add your OS user here.

    Hello

    Check your installation CD.

Try to make this CD image and run your VM to ISO image installation.
