  Oopen Keychain Access and look in your Keychain for connection to multiple Hotmail passwords. Delete the incorrect duplicate. If you can not tell which is correct, delete them all and open Mail. Enter the password when asked.

  I'm helping a friend reset his hotmail password, but they have not yet sent a new password to another address, and it's been more than 48 hours.
  I also tried to reset my own so that I could understand the process and they have not sent me a new password either, same time frame.
