How can I call Save as dialog box before you download pdf files?

How can I call Save as dialog box before you download pdf files?

Here's my favorite scenario:

1. the user clicks on the button

2 Save as dialog box displays

3. the user chooses the place

4. a set of PDF files download here OR download a single zip file

Background:

I want to ensure that the user sees that the files are downloaded. I'm content to users who are not Web warned.

Concern:

1. the user has no idea how to find the downloaded files or files have even downloaded.

2. I would like to deliver all in the form of zip files. Not sure if the automatic opening of zip files still exist.

FOR INFO:

I use jQuery UI buttons. Not sure if that factors in the response.

Just for clarity, I'm not forcing a download. The user will click on a button.

Click on a button or click on a link, either way you are technically running a script to force a download.

I guess that's the PHP on the server.

Yes but it is only a part of it.  Once the form runs, another script is called that opens the browser download dialog.

Y at - it a php script to call the open/save dialog box?

Yes.

  • Is there anyway to make Acrobat DC Pro (Win) pop up a warning dialog box before you print a PDF file?

    We have several very large PDFs on our web site that some want to have access to print. We don't mind them print the PDF files, but want to warn with a dialog box pop up that PDF files are hundreds of pages.  Is this possible with Acrobat Pro DC?

    Thank you

    Hello

    It's absolutely to do a custom pop dialog that warn you when there is a big pdf for printing.

    However you will need JavaScript to create a code to perform this function.

    You can see the following link for the same.

  • Script folder level? How can I use the value of a field as a pdf file name to save as dialog box

    I read somewhere that if you use a script to the folder level, you can do things like save a PDF with a specific file name - possibly based on a domain name.

    How we put in place a folder level script?

    How to run a script from the PDF?

    What code do you use to change the name of the PDF for the content of the text fFieldName field?

    Or is - this really just impossible to do?

    The function must be placed in a .js file in the following folder:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\JavaScripts

    You can then call it go another level of the folder or the document itself

    script.

  • How can I fix it? Dialog boxes does not completely open and boxes of competition do not work.

    I use a Mac Book Air and OS X Lion 10.7.5. Firefox has been suspended until periodically and recovers after the closing and re-opening, but it increases the frequency of crashes. All other programs work correctly and do not hang up. This also happens in safe mode. I've deleted and reinstalled Firefox several times, but the problems remain. I disabled all plugins and problems remain. I am inclined to believe that some Firefox that are not replaced by reinstalling files are corrupted and cause of these problems. Also... I have screenshots, but am unable to upoad them.

    lannit,
    If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How to make a screenshot of my problem?

    Firefox, reinstall, does not remove the profiles of installs pre-existing:
    Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

    Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu

      Click the close button

      ).

    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

    More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

    WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

    Please report to say if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • How to remove the Save dialog box before you close the form?

    Hi all

    I've created a form that will open a data connection to a button click.

    I get the error on failure and the code to close my form of app.execMenuItem ("Close");

    but a save dialog box appears before I can close.

    (maybe because I did something on the opening form),

    It is able to remove it? Or simply impossible?

    Best rgds.

    Hmmm,

    What happens if you add?

    Event.Target.Dirty = false;

    app.execMenuItem ("Close");

  • How can we call save them and save under the action of a plugin?

    Hello

    I want to call the Illustrator save and save under the action of my plugin, is I want to force the user to save and save as operation through my plugin.  After you save the active document using my plugin, I want to get its path, it is possible to do it using the SDK?

    Thanks in advance

    Farida kaid

    You can call Save in a few ways - through the Action Manager (AIActionManager.h) & PlayAction() for one. There is a call from WriteDocument() on these forums who would also do the trick (I think AIDocumentList.h, of AIDocument.h if not there).

    If you want to "force" users to use your plugin, I think you're wandering into dangerous territory. Its probably not a good idea for a plugin to usurp control of Illustrator record capabilities. I mean, you can do little by playing with the call of AIDocumetn::SetDocumentModified() and tricking HAVE thinking that nothing has changed, but I do not know what other side effects that would have. Others have tried, then maybe it works for you. Yet once, search the Forum and you will find details.

    To get the path after a backup, AIDocument.h has a method for this: GetDocumentFileSpecification().

  • Contextual dialog box before you call network - not in the EXPECTED order

    In my application, I would like to display a dialog box, while the application is retrieving data from a web server.  What I find is that the dialog box is not displayed until the data recovery is complete.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but here are my code snippets.  Suggestions are appreciated.

    public class HomeScreen extends MainScreen  {

        private ImageScreen imageScreen;

        private MenuItem  viewImage = new MenuItem("View Image",100,10) {
          public void run() {
                imageScreen = new ImageScreen();            UiApplication.getUiApplication().pushScreen(imageScreen);
             imageScreen.getImage();
          }
        };}

    public class  ImageScreen extends MainScreen {   private Dialog statusDlg;

       public ImageScreen() {           statusDlg = new Dialog("Loading...",null,null,0,icon);

           // some other initializations here   }

        public void getImage() throws Exception {        statusDlg.show();

            // create the connection...        HttpConnection conn = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(URL,Connector.READ_WRITE, true);        conn.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);

            // set paramters and write out requests here . . .

            // open input stream to get response from server        InputStream in = conn.openInputStream();

            // process the response        processResponse(conn.getResponseCode(), in);

            // close everything out        .        .    }

        public void processResponse(final int HTTPResponseCode, final InputStream inputStream)     {

          UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable() {        public void run()        {          statusDlg.close();

              // process response here          .          .          .        }      });        }

    }

    I want to see is a blank screen with a pop - up dialog box indicating that the data is "Loading"... ", while imageScreen.getImage () is executed (I voluntarily added latency in my HTTP response to simulate the network latency).  But instead, I see that the application remains on the screen (home screen), while the data are read.  Once the data is extracted, the new screen (ImageScreen) is displayed and the dialog box opens for a fraction of a second.

    I hope this makes sense.  I can clarify more, otherwise.

    It's because you make blocking network operation of e/s on the event thread (aka user interface thread). The getImage method is called on the thread of the event, this method calls the blocking network i/o operation. After processing the event of the user interface that caused the getImage method is called, the event thread starts processing the next events, which tells the OS to display your popup. This, obvsiouly, doesn't happen until GetImage ends.

    What GetImage should probably do is network IO unloading in another thread (for example, starting a new thread).

  • Adobe prelude CC - can't see ingest the dialog box after you have double clicked on to ingest

    I'm having a problem with Adobe prelude, version 2015.0, 4.0.0 (Build 138), which is the most recent version at the moment. I use Windows 7 Professional. My problem is this: when I click on "Double click to interfere", I never see ingest the dialog box appear. I have multiple monitors, but I do not see the dialog box on any of these screens and I don't see anywhere on the taskbar. At this point, if I try to click anywhere in the application, it gives me a sound of ding as if the dialog box was opened. Then I have to use the Task Manager to close the application. Restart the PC does not help. I even uninstalled Creative Director Cloud prelude, rebooted, and then reinstalled the application, and the problem persists. Prelude used to work just fine for me until about a week ago. Help, please. Thank you!

    [Left the forum Cloud/Installer generic for program specific forum... MOD]

    -Very well, so I just solved my own problem. I noticed that if I try to ingest video prelude on a different Windows user account, the problem moved, led me to believe that I lived a matter of preferences of the Windows user. The solution was to press Windows key + left or Windows Key + right to restore the location of a window of the application to its default value. Problem solved!
