I have a computer with a hard drive of GB 914, who recently said that it is impossible to install a program because the disk is full. While they inspected, I found that it only reported about 200 GB of usage and after you remove files non-essential, I released 57 GB of disk space.

I made sure to show all files and installed a file tree Locator and found a log of 684 GB file but when I tried to remove it, it said that the file was not in the specified location. How can I delete a file on my iOS device that I downloaded from my iCloud? I just want to keep the Preview on my iOS device without using my storage iOS for the entire file. This means that the file is still in the iCloud and available to be downloaded to any device.

In practice, I want to be able to scan and download through my documents located in my iCloud and once I didn't need them on my iOS device I would like 'load their return to the cloud' to my storage of the iOS device is not used.

The only way I found to do that once a file has been downloaded is to remove it and add it again through either from Finder on Mac or iCloud.com.

  • How can I protect a file with a password?

    Original title: password

Please, tell me how can I protect a file with password, folder, a CD, or a DVD. Is there a suitable and reliable and verified software? Please, give me web comments on sites where to find necessary software. I need in order if my CD or DVD discs will be stolen by a stranger or to reach people I did not trust. I need only for private use. You see, I don't have an iron safely to the place I live. I hope that you will understand me. Thank you in advance. John

Hello, Tommy Stanley. I realized from your questions that you can imagine that I will earn money selling the CD protected by word or DVD discs telling buyers the password. No, I'm not a sales man. Only for me on the extreme case, that my disks will be stolen or to reach people, I do not trust. I guess that to set a password that is easier then encrypt disks. But I wonder to know how to encrypt CD or DVD discs and that means encrypted drive. Through what she may be to read? Please, I explain my situation (I live in time with people that I don't have confidence). Please, give me some reliable advice concerning my question. Now, for me it very seriously. I hope you understood me. Thank you in advance, Shenan Stanley.

I think you read things in my simple questions that weren't there.  I asked because if it is stored on a single computer/use on one computer by one person - the solutions are simpler and more readily available than if you plan to send this information to someone else so that they treat.

    I recommend you read this:
    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000705.htm

If this isn't a shared computer... (It is yours, you can use only.)

I suggest that you see if you can lock the computer closed (with a physical cable/lock).  You add a password to your system SETUP or BIOS so that no one can change the settings of operating system and maybe even a STARTUP password so it can not even start without enter you a password.  Also change the BIOS settings so that it will only start from the hard drive installed in the machine.  With the Setup/BIOS password, you can change back to something later.

AxCrypt and TrueCrypt are free and good encryption tools.

Regarding the CD/DVD - you don't encrypt the media - you encrypt everything you would write for them and you will probably need to copy off the power and check that the files on them are not read-only before you can decrypt in most cases.

By the way - physical security outweighs almost all other types of security.  Which means you need to physically secure the computer before you bothder same thing with another.  Locking the computer case closed and adding the password after changing startup opportunities, I would consider good physical security in your case.

  • How can I share my files with my friends?

How can I share my files with my friends?

I'm tempted to say "the same way you share small files" but I suspect that you are having some kind of problem you describe sharing of large files.  What file size do you start hving problems?  How do you share your files (email, messenger, via a network, whatever) and what is the EXACT name and version of the program that you are using?  This error message you get when you try to share a file too big (the EXACT, including all codes message)?

One solution is to compress the files so that they are smaller in size.  This sometimes helps a lot and sometimes, does virtually nothing (especially according to the type of file) - but it's worth a try.

Here are two articles on the implementation of compression in Vista right click: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/65254-zip-file-support-restore.htmlandhttp://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/93827-zip-file-compressed-folders.html. These articles should tell you how to activate and deactivate the compaction and reset the compression options in Vista.

If you can not get Vista compression/decompression works correctly despite these instructions, you can simply try to download and install 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org/ which provides essentially the same functionality in a free and easy to use program.  Many people use this program (or other similar) instead of Vista program for various reasons.

Amother option with certain types of files is to convert other types of files which take less space (such as the conversion of a TIFF file in a JPG file).  It isn't exactly the same thing, but most of people it would be hard to notice the difference (and sometimes the difference is not visible to the naked eye or on a monitor).  To help here, we would need to know the types of files of these large files.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

When you click START, then RUN, I type temp and delete the files on all computers in my office.  Almost every one of them now has a list of .tmp files that are unable to remove.  They all start with LAE and range from LAE9F.tmp, LAE13A etc...   There are 19 in total... and they are all in blue, if that means anything.

When I remove them, I get the message "access is denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or protected in writing and that the file is not currently in use"

    How can I remove them?

I don't know what these files are, however, all files in the TEMP directory are safe to remove, but you can restart once, just to make sure that there are no "restart to perform this installation procedure" in the waiting.

Files that are displayed in blue are compressed.

If the files are older than 7 days, you may be able to remove them using disk cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK).

Otherwise you can probably remove them starting mode safe mode (F8 tap immediately after reboot sequence starts, before the Windows logo doesn't appear).

Alternatively, instead of Safe Mode, the following almost always works:

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK).
    • Navigate to the directory where the files of LAExxx.tmp are located using the cd command.

      CD C:\Windows\Temp {press Enter}

    • Leave the command prompt window, start the task (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Manager
    • Find explorer.exe in the processes list, select it and click on "end process."
    • At this point, your screen should be empty except for the command prompt window open and the Task Manager
    • In the command prompt window, type the following command

      del *. * (press Enter}

    • Go back to Task Manager, click file > new task (run...) and in the "Open" box type

      Explorer.exe

    • Click OK.
    • Your office should be back to normal. Close the command prompt and the windows task manager and the files should be gone.

  • How can I delete a file from my backup/archiving?

I am new to computers and I'm still trying to understand a lot of what happens, I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with OS Vista Home Premium on a 64-bit platform. I downloaded a program to open an attachment, I received in an email, only to find out that I had to pay for it so I uninstalled when I did that he left behind a pop up that starts with the startup program, it tells me that there is a problem with the installation and to reorganize. I went to the boot file on all programs at the start of the menu found and deleted, but the next time I start the computer the pop showed once again. I went back to the file and there are still and removed the more I found it in other programs, including my C drive, I deleted all the and the next time I start the computer of pop showed once again. I went to the boot again file and this is once again so I removed it, while he was in the trash, I clkd on the properties and I found a box saying archives with a mark of chk in the box. Guess the file itself is the reproduction in the archives and the archives are backup is I? So, how in my backup file to find the file for the pop up and remove? If I can, I went through several books I have on computers but there is no explanation and I tried the computer but I can't find any specific information that will help. I sent several different security screens through the computer and it did not pop up (called cure pilot) (using Norton, Superantispyware, and Microsoft Security Essentials) so I don't think it is malware and my computer is not having more or less problems than what she normally. If I can't dig the file and delete any other ideas on what to do with it? I'll download CC Cleaner and try it. Thanks for any help.

  • How can I delete a file named [Torrentreactor.to]

    000000

We could use more information on the way in which the file came to be on your system and what program to assign you it.  In addition, it would be useful to know why you want to delete this file and where it is located (to see if we can learn more about it and its function and perhaps why, you find it difficult to do).  But I'll give a few suggestions based on certain assumptions that I'm going to do about the situation.  If you get error messages or the program starts to him alone without want you to do it, then please tell us that (and are exactly what that error messages and when the program starts).

If it is part of a program that you no longer want, you need to uninstall the entire program rather than deleting its files (as suggested above by Bruce)- otherwise the pieces of the program will remain in your system files and in the register (and perhaps elsewhere) without good service (and be VERY difficult to find and safely remove later if you want to clean your machine).  If Vista uninstall does not work, try Revo to: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/revo-uninstaller/revouninstaller.html , who sometimes works when Vista standard uninstall programs does not work.

Maybe you do not have permissions or ownership to delete the file (you should receive error messages - if yes, what are they).  Here's how to fix that:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it is an unknown file that you do not know how it got on your system and you are unable to delete in the normal way (which is I guess the case since you posted the question here), can carry by using one of the following free products to remove the file/folder.  Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml or file Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/). These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

Try to delete the files and folders using check and disk cleanup if it helps. Disk clean up will help you remove unwanted and unused files, folders, and programs.
