How can I delete files that will not be clear without "permission"?

I have a BACKUP folder on my drive C dating back to 2005, and who comes from another computer (XP). The record contains three, which in turn have subfolders and files. Security of the backup folder hidden controls on all ALLOW bos (inherited from the C drive) and so do its subfolders, but the lowest-level files do not have boxes to ALLOW or REMOVE permissions and add & DELETE buttons are shaded on (inioperable).

I read the information displayed under «I need permission for everything and don't know how to get it...» "dating from fevrier.09 onward and apparently their solution (and probably mine) is not yet available.  I am a Vista Home Premium 32-bit user and agree with comment abouit Vista of those displaying the site in question.

I add my question in the hope that someone, somewhere will respond with something that works for this problem.

Hi delrayjack,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

Have you tried other methods to delete folders? You can try to give permissions to the entire folder. However first to disable the user first, and then access control give permission.

To give permissions to try the procedure below

1. right click on the file (Context menu is displayed.)

2. Select 'Properties' ("[name of folder] properties" dialog box appears.)

3. click on the security"" tab.

4. click on the 'Advanced' button (advanced security settings for [name of folder] appears.)

5. click on the tab "owner".

6. click on the button "Edit".

7. click on the name of the new owner in box "a change in ownership to.

8. click on the box to check "Replace owner of subcontainers and objects".

9. click on the apply"" button. ("Evolution of the property of...") ("progress message appears.)

10. click on 'Yes' to acknowledge the warning "Windows Security".

11. click on OK to close the "Advanced security settings" dialog box to the foreground.

12. click on 'Permissions' tab (first tab) on the dialog box "Advanced security settings" current.

13. click on the button "Edit".

14. Click to select the administrator in the box "permission entries.

15 NOTE: If 'Administrator' appears more than once, select one that has 'Subfolders and files only' in the column ' applies to.

16. click on the button to change. ("Permission to [folder name] entry" dialog box appears.)

17 click to see the option "apply these permissions to objects...". ».

18 click to check ALL the boxes in the column "allow".

19. click 'OK' (dialog box closed, return to the "Advanced security settings" dialog box.)

20 click to see the option 'include permissions inheritable... '. ».

21 click to see the option "replace all existing inheritable permissions...". ».

22. click on the apply"" button. (Confirmation dialog "Windows security" is displayed.)

23 click on 'Yes' to confirm that you want to continue.

24 watch progress indicator on the "Windows security: definition of security... information. "dialog box.

25. when information security has been applied, the indicator dialog box will automatically close progress.

26. you are now in the dialog box "Advanced security settings for [name of folder]"... the "Permissions" tab should be visible.

27. click on 'OK' and the dialog box closes, revealing the previous dialog box.

28 click on 'OK' and the dialog box closes, revealing the "Properties" dialog box

29. click on 'OK' and the 'Properties' dialog box farm

30 return to Windows Explorer and delete the folder.

You can also try to remove it from the command prompt and check

1. disable user account control

Delete the file

Tun back user account control on

2. start | type Cmd.exe | Right click on cmd.exe in the list of programs directly above. Select run as administrator

Navigate to the directory that contains the file that you want to remove (using the CD command).

Delete the file using the DEL command.

Use the EXIT command to close the command window

Another way to delete the folders is the mode of WinRe.

-To start the computer into WinRE mode, insert the Vista CD in the CD tray, restart the computer.

-When you are prompted to "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM..." Press ENTER.

-Select the language by default, click Next.

-Select "repair your computer".

-Select command prompt and type the commands to delete the file or Notepad type, which will open Notepad, and then click file > select open and from there, navigate to the location of the files and try to delete

I hope this helps. .

Let us know if this doesn't work or if you need further assistance.

Kind regards

  • How can I find photographs that are not assigned to any collection?

    Hello!

    I use LR 5.7.1 on a Mac.

    When I've airbrushed raw with PS CC images (and do not need file PSD more) I export the PSD (which is in my catalog) in JPG format and let it automatically add to my catalog. After that, I remove the PSD file. Which works very well.

    But... the new JPG file is not assigned to any collection. This is no problem unless I forgot to do it manually after export (and import).

    This brings me to my question.

    How can I find photographs that are not assigned to any collection?

    I tried with a smart collection after I found nothing suitable in the filter library. The search criteria, I tried are Source-> Collection with any of the conditions. One with an empty field, then with just a space and so on.

    Does anyone have a good tip for me?

    I can't find a way to mark a message in my junk as e-mail folder as not junk.  Some versions of Mac OS x there is there a way to mark a message as "not junk".  Every once in a while I find valid messages hidden in my Junk folder.  There is no indication in the help on how to mark them "not junk" (usually help isn't much help!).  I see that no one has replied to your message, Nix-649.  Google talks about it, but nothing is very recent. • When I run the Defragmenter I end up with large blocks of fragmented files that will not move much matter how many times I run.

    The report telling me I need to defragment this volume.  Total of 20% of fragmentation, 41% free space fragmentation 0% file fragmentation.  The last time I've run the defragmentation tool I don't remember this existing problem.  I think I would have noticed these large areas of red and he questioned.  It was about six weeks ago.  My computer worked more slow and sometimes simply hanging.  I downloaded Firefox a few weeks ago, but slowdown problems existed before this and I have not downloaded anything else except a program to deal with DOCX. files that do not seem to help me so I got rid of him. That's four months ago or not.  I ran so many tests I can think... hard drive check... cleaning disc etc...  I don't know how I got in this mess, nor how to correct.  I seems to me just that I close up with a disk full of files that are fragmented if I can't find a solution.  Any help would be appreciated more with gratitude.

    Please answer the following questions:

    1. What is the size of your hard drive (C :) and the amount of free space is left? (Open my computer, right-click on the icon for drive Local (c), select properties and declare what you see in the 'Général' tab for the used space and free space.)
    2. Even if you have the properties of the State open, (c) if the box down to "Allow the Indexing Service to index this disk for fast searching of files" is checked or unchecked.
    3. Right click on desktop, select Properties, and select the tab "system restore."  Is the drive (C :) followed by the system restore?  Assuming that the answer is 'Yes', make sure the drive (C :) is selected and click on the 'Settings' button.  What is reported as the amount of used disk space?  For now, simply "Cancel" your way out of these settings screens.

  • How can I autorun script that will process an XML file at the opening?

    I use image 11. I have a saved script that looks for the event Constants.FA_Note_PostOpenXML notification. When this event is raised, the script is supposed to examine the root element (so I change only the appropriate XML files), then make some changes to the file. Specifically, I want to be able to delete empty pages, remove the room for the heads side and correct table formatting (for example the left indent, whereby I can not directly access, apparently, in the rules of the EDD or R/W). The code snippet that starts to do the following work:

    Notification (constants.FA_Note_PostOpenXML, true);

    function {Notify (note, object, sparam, etriqu)

    switch (note) {}

    case Constants.FA_Note_PostOpenXML:

    doTheWork();

    break;

    }

    }

    function doTheWork() {}

    var doc, flow, root, elemName, mPageAttrib, topicElem, topicElemName, allAttribs;

    doc = app. ActiveDoc;

    flow = doc. MainFlowInDoc;

    root = flow. HighestLevelElement; will always get something although unstructured document

    While (root. ObjectValid()) {//only do something for structured documents

    elemName = getElementName (root);

    .. more code to do things...

    }

    }

    I check then the element name root, and if it matches, I make a few changes. This code works fine when operating manually. But, when it is run as a recorded script, the app. ActiveDoc object is invalid, and there is no structure to edit. (I added the line if(!doc.) debug ObjectValid()) {alert ("invalid");} that is not included above.) It seems that the Constants.FA_Note_PostOpenXML event fires whenever the XML file opens, but BEFORE frame bed actually.

    Does anyone have recommendations on how to get around this? Is there something else I could use instead of Constants.FA_Note_PostOpenXML? Is there another way to manipulate an XML file automatically when loading?

    Thanks in advance

    The notification event receives four settings: note, object, sparam and etriqu. For the event that you are using, the object must be the subject of document of the FrameMaker document being opened. Then, you should be able to use this:

    doTheWork(object);

    Make sure that you update your doTheWork function to receive the Doc object:

    function doTheWork(doc) {
        var flow, root, elemName, mPageAttrib, topicElem, topicElemName, allAttribs;
        flow = doc.MainFlowInDoc;
        root = flow.HighestLevelElement; // will always get something even if unstructured document
        while(root.ObjectValid()) { //only do something for structured docs
            elemName = getElementName(root);
            ...more code to do stuff....
        }
    }

  • How can I delete file from HARD drive recovery?

    I burned a copy of the HDD recovery folder and would now like to delete the original folder on my hard drive that I need the space.
    Unfortunately I don't seem to have permission to make changes to the file.

    Any suggestions? (I'm a noob in vista)

    Thank you

    > burned a copy of the HDD recovery folder
    I think this will not help you if you would try to recover this file of HARD drive recovery once again!
    You need a recovery disk! This disc would only create a HARD disk partition once again!

    This means that you must create the recovery disk, first using the Toshiba recovery disc creator! This tool is preinstalled!

    So after you have created a successfully recovery disk, you can try to delete the folder from the HARD drive. But to be honest, I don t recommend this I want to say that this folder can be very useful in the future in case something goes wrong with your system

    However, I think that you cannot delete it because you don t have permission to admin
    You can try to disable UAC first
    Disable UAC is as easy as start > run > msconfig > tools > disable UAC > Ok.

    From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.

    Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.

    Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

    Restart the computer and you should find that the document has been deleted.
