  Intel based computers, like yours, are usually set to "RAID", which is a superset of "AHCI". Basically, if the BIOS won't let you choose between "IDE mode", "AHCI" and "RAID", leaving in the RAID led to you everything done "AHCI". In this case there is no need to activate the AHCI, as RAID will support an SSD anyway.

  Check the bios - mods.com.  Having the same problem with my acer 5532 right now.  Someone had bios Creek that unlocked some advanced cpu settings that were not available to the general public from the bios OE and c1e and svm (enabled/disabled), but did not have the option to turn on virtualization as I needed.

  Still, there are some risks involved using a 3rd party bios modified.  You could damage your machine if the flash is damaged, or if you make changes to the parameters which have probably been locked for some reason any manufacturer.
