How can I force the Welcome screen on a single user without password?
There must be a way to force the Welcome screen for the log after starting, even if only one user on a Vista computer has no password. I searched high and low nothing helps, any help appreciated, thanks.
Try this:
Back up your Windows registry database, this might help:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registry
Then go to run and type regedit or regedit.msc
In the Windows registry and search for this address of the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
Then look for
Administerator REG_DWORD
And you will see the value as 0x000000
try to make 0 x 00001 or turn it into 1, simply click on it.
If the administrator is not there, then right-click on the page and try to create the new DWORD value and name it:
Administrator
Make sure that the spelling is correct, and then take the value 1. Then reboot your PC and it should work.
Note that working with registry is risky make sure that you back up before doing these steps. and if the problem happens then restore backup back.

How can I disable the Welcome screens?
I'm sure I'm ignorant, but how can I stop popping welcome screens everytime I open a program?
Hello
In order to disable the Welcome screen, please scroll to the end of the home screen, you'll find a checkbox that says: do not show welcome screen even once
Please check only the box and that should turn off the Welcome screen from popping up, whenever you open the application.

When starting, how can I change the Welcome screen?
I would just start and open my own office, but still need me the blue welcome screen then I have to click on my user name. I only use the administrator user account. so I would just ignore the Welcome screen.
I don't know there's an answer posted somewhere in the title of the help, but I can't seem to find it.
You don't mention what version of Windows XP you have It makes a difference.
In addition, your statement "I only use the user administrator account" sounds like you are using the built-in account named Administrator. It is a bad idea.
You must create an account for daily use. If you want to have a "computer administrator" privileges, you can do (although several security experts advise you not to connect to the Internet with an administrator account, I think that the vast majority of XP users do it anyway).
If the built-in Administrator account becomes corrupted (happens), you will be in a much more difficult situation than if you had saved it "only emergency cases."

I want the screen which shows each user next to a small table, where choose you one to connect. I also can't get there in the menu START. If I click START, then click on LOG OFF, I don't get the option to SWITCH USERS that would take me to the screen of welcome as well. If I open the control PANEL and click USER ACCOUNTS, I can't find a prompt which is supposed to say "change the way users Log On. It comes to have I'm supposed to find a checkbox indicating "use the Welcome screen. Is not an option for this version of XP? Am just missing something? Help, please!

Slide down from the top of the screen, to about halfway or remove an application open to the left of the screen.
