  I did a long time ago and it does not help.

  However, I found a solution.

  'Master Media Center' (free version of the program) will download the XML MetaData files and place them in the folder of video/film. This will force even make a MetaData XML file if it cannot find anything online.

  Apparently, Windows Media Center uses XML files to determine what kinds of display movies under.

  Without a metadata file XML Media Center will put the video file in the type 'Other' even if you wrote a kind under details.

  Now, if I can get my Windows Media Center to stop crashing when I open "Movies!

  Please try to install with a stand-alone Installer. Here is a link to try the download from:

  After clicking on this link, install this software. If this does not work, you then reset IE. In Internet Explorer, go to tools, Internet Options, and then choose the last tab called Advanced, then click the button "Reset". This will restore IE back to the default values.   This first effort with elements first 13, I had a company to convert my movies to 50 (8mm) in digital files (.avi).  But the company cannot know how their sequence so I will try to make the DVD 'movies '.  I want to make for parents to use (so they work in most consumer DVD players).

  I tried to make Blu - ray movies, but (using M-record) they wouldn't even play in my Blu - ray player.  Then I tried to make AVCHD movies, but 31% of the process, I get a "transcription error."  So I made DVDs with the program, but the quality is (I think) even worse 8mm films they came.  They appear more grainy for me until I discovered the files on the computer.

  Question 1: Can I do better?

  1a: If that AVCHD would be better, is my problem only to use the right type of disc?

  Question 2: Each film PREL only 30 minutes and uses less than 2 GB to the drive.  Assuming that better quality images would use even less than 4.7 GB, is there an easy way to combine two movies PREL?  Making each .avi files has been a challenge...

  Very well! This is a video of good quality, editable file. However, this is a standard definition video file and it will not produce a good high-def or BluRay video.

  That said, when you add the video to your timeline first 13 elements, the program should implement your project according to the specifications of your video. And, When you do, you should be able to easily output a very nice DVD to research.

  I did a lot of videos... pictures with music.

  I would like to remove many of the videos but not sure how to proceed.  I want to keep the pictures that are in the video, but I don't know how to do this.  The last time I deleted the videos I lost the photos and has never been able to recover these photos from the Recycle Bin.  I also thought that maybe I should just remove all the pictures of the video and to remove the video.  I don't know if I should do this... I'm afraid that somehow the images will be deleted, and I will never see them again.

  Thank you for your quick response.  What I can do is to make a slide show.  What I do is to put pictures in a slideshow video.  I add photos, and I can add music.  I can only put these pictures with the music on a CD.  I can only play the disc for people to watch that is if I can make them sit down to watch it... ha ha.

  My problem is that since I have the pictures and music on my drive, I don't have the folder that is located on my computer that contains images and music.  I want to remove this folder, but unfortunately when I do not delete the folder, the photos are also deleted and I'm not able to recover from the trash.  (I know that things can be recovered from the Recycle Bin, but I tried this and made a real mess).

  I know it's a little confusing but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.  Do you have any suggestions?  If this isn't the case, it's ok.  You're very kind for trying to help me and I appreciate it.

  you do not want to delete.

  Here's the thing... If you create a file of the video... that you can display in
  Windows Media Player and share with others... your photos have been
  coded in a different format. It's not the same as a backup of
  your photos and you should keep your original photo files.

  Hi Eric,.

  In Edit > Prefs > General, there is a checkbox for "Auto scale to frame size. Which allow, and clips imported after that change will be automatically resized to fill the size of the current framework. For clips imported already before the change, you right-click and choose manually the scale to the framework on the clips in your sequence.

  Ideally, you should understand which format you want to deliver and start from there. For example, if the final product will be on DVD, then 720 x 480 is the size to work with, and you start with a DV NTSC preset and clips to adapt to the scale. Not a good idea for any increase, you will lose quality, so not to recommend full 1920 x 1080 HD if your sources are all small.

  Also pay attention to the PACE. You can mix them, but decide which is the most widespread and which may be the one to use, depends on however. If you can give examples of what you have to work with, and where it goes (DVD, YouTube, etc.) then you can get more specific advice
