How can I move an entire site to a test site

I have a dynamic website in Dreamweaver CS5 I created in the class which is in good working condition. Now, I want to move the entire site to a different folder, it tear and experiment with it like a lab rat. However, in the likely event that I have to 'kill', I want to be able to revert to the original for reference or maybe even to start over. How do I do that? I guess that Dreamweaver allows me to 'move' a site to another folder, so that it updates automatically all links and others. Can anyone shine some light?

I want to move the entire site to a different folder

Copy the folder root site and paste it in another location.  Create a new site definition that points to the new root folder.  Start the autopsy.

Changes are lost if you can't point LR to a good copy of your images.

If you made a backup of your external hard drive, you can copy this backup on your new drive; Then, as long as the folder structure is the same the old disk, you point just LR on the top level of the new disk files in folders, and LR Panel will reconnect everything for you.

It doesn't matter which computer you use, as long as it meets the requirements of the specification for Dreamweaver (as almost certainly does an iMac).

You define a site in Dreamweaver and set up the connection information for the remote server. You can then connect to the remote server and download the pages of the site and other assets, such as images. The following video shows how to define a local site define a site in Dreamweaver. Adobe Dreamweaver tutorials CC. There is a separate video on the remote server configuration: put in place the server connection information. Adobe Dreamweaver tutorials CC. The second video requires that you have created the site locally, but the details on setting up the connection information for the remote server are the same.

  • How can I move my site folders/files to a drive.

I tried to move the folder to the main site; but it wont let me move throughout the site anywhere on my drive hard or the cloud. I have no problem to move files and folders within the site; but I can't get the entire site moved.  Any help would be appreciated.

You cannot move a file of entire site in DW.  You must use your operating system (Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder).  Then redefine the local folder on your site in DW by going to Site > Manage Sites.

  • I would like to have at least 1 of my toolbars that are displayed at the bottom of my browser open screen. How can I move a toolbar from the top to the bottom of the page?

I would like to have at least one of my toolbars that are displayed at the BOTTOM of my browser open screen. How can I move a toolbar from the top to the bottom of the page? I don't want to do this by using an extension, and when I read about the extension, I really have not seen how it would move the toolbar to the top-down any browser page open.
Thanks in advance for the supply, the answer and the procedure to get this accomplished.

You can't drag an entire toolbar to the bottom of the window. The Bar of the Addon is a "toolbar", drag whatever you want from the Palette to customize or a toolbar up to the bar of the Addon.

  • How can I move my library iPhoto for WD My Cloud?

I have a MBP 2011 OSx 10.9.5 running with a 320 GB hard drive which is full (only 4.5 GB of free space remaining).  I'm not being updated lately b/c I don't have disk space to do so.  I have an iPhoto library 164GB I want to spend.  I backed up the iPhoto library on a WD My Passport without any problems.  I have a WD My Cloud 2 TB NAS.  I want to save my iPhoto on the NAS library so that whenever I want to access iPhoto I can't plug my DHM.  Or if I travel and you want to access my photos I don't have to carry the EHD with me.  Essentially, I want to use the NAS to accommodate my iPhoto library for access to daily and then use my passport EHD to perform manual backups on a regular basis, so I have a backup of the SIN.  My question... How can I move my iPhoto library to the NAS and it work to use the SIN as the point of main access for my photos?  Thank you.

Short answer: you don't have. It is not a supported disc format and you risk of major loss.

Long answer: iPhoto must have the library sitting on drive to Mac OS extended (journaled) format. Users with the library sitting on disks formatted also regularly report matters including, but not limited to, import, export, save the changes and photo sharing.

to learn more. Also note the comment:

"In addition, store the iPhoto library on a network rather than locally on your computer can also lead to poor performance or loss of data."

This is doubly true in the case of wireless connections: If you try to change the library (i.e. make albums, move pictures around, keyword, brand books or slide shows etc.) or edit individual photos in it wireless be very cautious. Dropouts are a common reality of wireless network, and does it happen while the app is written to the database, then your library will be damaged. Simply, I wouldn't do this with my libraries.

If disk space is a problem, and it is very definitely for you:

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled)

    1. quit iPhoto

2 copy the iPhoto library to your folder on the external drive.

3 hold down the option (or alt) key when launching iPhoto. In the menu that appears, select "Choose Library" and navigate to the new location. From there it will be the default location of your library.

4 test the library, and when you are sure that all is well, trash on your HD internal for free space.

Is there a way I can just change the Panel they sit rather than remove the controls I have and then create new controls on the tab?

    That's all.

  • How can I move all the folders in Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail?

Bought a new computer with Windows Home, how can I move the folders of Outlook Express in Windows XP SP3 in Windows Live Mail? Thanks for your help.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

  • How can I move web shortcuts on my desktop into folders on my desktop?

I have too many shortcuts to Web sites on my desktop and I need to organize.  How can I move them into folders?  Many of them were placed on my desk by my organization and can not be deleted, so I would put them in folders and own things!

    Hello Rebecca,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description, you need to organize and move the shortcuts to Web sites into folders on the system.

    Certainly, I understand your concern.

I suggest you try the following steps to create a folder on the desktop.

    1. Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, and then clicking Show Desktop.
    2. Right-click in an open space on your desktop, click new, and then click folder.
    3. Type a name for the folder, and then press enter to complete the creation of your new folder on the desktop.
    4. You can move the folder to the desktop by clicking on the folder, and then drag it to the desired location.
    5. You can also rename a folder by right-clicking the folder, and then clicking Rename.

Note: Once the folder is created, you can simply drag and drop shortcuts from the site on this particular issue.
