How can I reactivate my CS3 with connectivity problem?

For Christmas, I received a new MacbookPro , migrated successfully but it must "reactivate" my CS3. When I opened the application, I get the activation screen, but when I click on 'on internet', it tries then gives me a "Activation-No. Connection" screen that loop if I try again. I have wireless internet work. I even plugged in ethernet RJ45. IM able to access the Adobe secure (https) website & activation server (2 logos) based on their "test"link." Ive disabled the firewall on the Macbook. But I still get the same error screen - it gives me options: server(don't use) proxy 1) (2) by phone no is longer supported! (Like co. who stand their products, she said with irony).

ANY ideas greatly appreciated thots. I noticed on trying to open several applications in CS3 that I received a notice of 'moved files' with a 'repair' button - which I didn't click on it but it made no difference. IS IT POSSIBLE that it is a result of migration? If so, should I uninstall/reinstall CS3 & trying to activate it?

kglad-thank you. My husband checked the "hosts" file (whatever it is) & activate adobe found blocked; He made some changes & Viola! Activation zip thru & burst open with all my files. It is so good for me like that. He did agree with you however & said early on that it was a good idea but I didn't lose my settings, etc... If possible. It was the next step if the host thing didn't work. Still think I should use the "repair" disc In any case, thanks again (to be sufficiently involved to help. Its people like you that make these forums work for people like me.) Happy new year. Clear all in Cali.

    Your MP3 player should have 2 settings - MSC that should allow the player to be used as a
    external drive and PSG that is the parameter to use to sync with WMP11. Remove the MP3
    and restart the computer. Change the MP3 in MTP mode - it power off and plug it in.

    Christmas sent me to see if I had something that might help :-)

    My understanding of your situation, it's that your computer has a file system corrupted, if you used the manufacturer's recovery process to recover your computer if you "out-of-the-box".  I also noticed that you mentioned that recovery has given you the option has not your personal files in a place called "my old file Structures." Unfortunately, the recovery isn't going smoothly 100% and you encounter a problem of activation.

    The best tour I have up my sleeve is trying to "rearm" Windows Product Activation XP, which if it works will provide you with a grace period of 30 days, during which you can try to recover and backup your files from the old file Structure My, their credit on another storage (like external HDD or flash drives). Once your data is safe, then you can try to get another and hope this goes more smoothly this time. If this is not the case, your next step would be to contact the manufacturer to acquire the system disks required to run CD/DVD recovery rather than the recovery partition on the hard drive of your computer.

    If the computer can be started in a safe mode command prompt, run this option to rearm activation XP:

    Rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk

    The command must be typed exacly as above with space, caps, and comma.  Restart, and if it works, you will be able to log in normal mode (as opposed to safe mode) and will be in the 30-day activation grace period.

    Assuming that works, save your data, and then try the recovery again.  You will want to visit the support pages and community forum hosted by the manufacturer of your computer to search and see if the seeds of recovery are common for your make and model of computer - if yes, it is likely to be a fix for what you can implement.

    If this does not work, then your next task is to use an operating system off-line such as BartPE, Ultimate Boot CD, Knoppix, etc., to save your data from the saved location.  Once the data is turned off the computer and the safe, you can use the manufacturer's recovery disks (or disc OEM/systembuilder Microsoft at the generic address) to make a good clean install of Windows.

    If you have problems with your internet connection speed you better communicate with your suppliers of Internet services (ISP) technical support team. Internet high speed is governed by many factors, including your distance from your PBX and the time of day, you use the internet. If you're more than a mile from your phone (I think) Exchange and then speed will be reduced due to degradation of the signal. Yet here in the United Kingdom, resulting speeds are advertised as 8 MB and above (up to 20 or more in some areas), however, in reality, you are lucky to get an average speed of 2.5 to 4 MB on an 8 MB line.

    Another factor is the time of day you access internet. Peak your ISP is likely to "cap" of the connection speed. In other words, more people using your lower ISP connection speed system. Another factor is whether a "router" is declining in some parts of the world where your ISP traffic fell through. Also, this may cause more slow responses of the web pages. Yesterday, I visited a webpage which, under normal conditions, takes about 15 seconds to load. On this occasion, it took more than 70 seconds to load.

    You also don't say if you are using broadband or dial-up connection services. While we always assume that everyone has broadband is not always the case. Remote connections are still alive and well in many parts of the countryside, especially those. A dial is notoriously slow compared to broadband by default.
