Re: Satellite C660-119 - BIOS fail

Hello.

We had trouble with our battery so tried everything to also update the BIOS.
The laptop had no anyway as updated bios n since 2012.

So went to Toshiba downloaded the right one. Arrived at programming block 17 and then nothing the froze.fan system remained on. It's on during some time so had to pull the plug before it overheated.

So obviously tried to pull up again. White screen. Lights fine. DVD drives work towers fans. And a beep when it detects RAM. Tried various combinations without success. The so-called support of tosh.

They cited 187 if it takes reflash and 275 to replace the motherboard.
Now don't not truism paying I'd rather buy an a Lil nee

Basically, as everyone has ideas how to do it yourself before I go on it

I don t think you will be able to fix it but check

I'm afraid that the BIOS is screwed now. I don't know what BIOS and how you installed, but something is wrong.

I don't know what you can do now, but check this thread - please https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?54395

Following the instructions here, maybe you'll be able to fix the BIOS.

  • Webcam/mic on Satellite C660-119 - how to make it work?

Try to get this working integrated webcam. The laptop for a few years, but never used this function before. I have Skype which does not seem to detect it. Can't see anything in the Device Manager on webcam or image or whatever it is and in program files under Toshiba all there is "Indicator of wireless LAN", and nothing on a cam or a microphone, sound as if it does not exist. After searching around, I found I could use some some drivers, and so I downloaded this so-called TC30295700E (which I think is what I had), I installed and no difference seems to be made. Webcam completely without being detected by the laptop even if integrated its... been at this for a few hours now, I am missing something here?

Edit: Sorry I should clarify, I am running Windows 7.

Edit 2: Should also add that "Imaging Devices" is not found on Device Manager.

    Any help appreciated, thanks
    Muloc

According to specification laptop Satellite C660-119 with PSC0LE-01100JEN part number does not have a cam so I m wondering not you can not get it work if cam doesn t exist.

  • Re: Satellite C660-119 - WLAN disconnect battery

I would really appreciate if someone can help me here on behalf of my mother!

She has a Toshiba Satellite C660-119. Everything works fine when the power supply is connected to the laptop, but as soon as she disconnects it then he loses (Virgin Media router) wireless connection. Two other laptops (family members) work quite well. The problem is last week she bought an another Toshiba Satellite and had the same problem, so we went back today thinking it was defective and got the C660 but it happens on this one too!

    Any notice received with gratitude.

    Hey,.

If this only happens on the battery, I think that it s economy feature that will be activated WLAN energy battery mode. That means WLAN card saves energy, but it could be loose connection.

Take a look in the Windows power management and assign card WLAN for Performance maximum battery mode. This document will help you:

Go to http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_manuals.jsp and download the manuals for your laptop satellite. On the page, 152, you will find accurate instructions what should you do if your laptop is stolen.

I imagine that your insurance needs some information like serial number, but we cannot help you with this. Info that we can give you is the model number and it is PSC0LE-01100JEN. Check first what kind of information your insurance want to have.

  • Satellite C660-1TT - BIOS problems

    Hi all...

I sat and would update the bios for my Toshiba Satellite C660-1TT (PSC1QE-01D006N5)

Sloopy as I was, I left the computer to get a coffee, * obviously one of my children was there * and press a few buttons. This resulted in the computer 'frozen' after a while I was forced to turn off.

Now change back the time and date each time I start the computer, and I can´t get the wifi to work.
I tried to reinstall the bios again but then get the message that I already have the same or more recent bios and installation is complete.

Someone who can tell if I wrong somehow the computer into thinking it is a newer version or the mabye bring in the former and then update?

    Grateful for any help! Robert

    (excuse my bad English)

    Hello

To my knowledge it is not possible to downgrade the BIOS in windows mode, because you will always have a notification, this new version is already installed.
To my knowledge the ASP technician Toshiba may downgrade the BIOS but only using the traditional version of BIOS (BACK).

But I recommend to test this workaround solution.
Shut down the laptop. Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Now let the laptop disconnected for a longer period of time, I think about 3-4 hours
Then plug the battery adapter and ac and access the BIOS by pressing F2 to turn on/off the unit.
Here, you must set the default BIOS (F9) and save the changes.
Now, start Notepad and check how it would work.

Usually, the date and time resets because the CMOS battery is empty. But I can't imagine that this could be a problem here, however, you can reload the CMOS battery running the laptop on area for 18 to 20 hours. During this time the laptop must be ONE.

    Check this box

  • Satellite C660-13R - BIOS update problem

    Hi all

I was updating the BIOS on TOSHIBA SATELLITE C660-13R of 64-bit windows 7. Downloaded driver toshiba web. To halfway the portable installation hangs. I left it for 40 minutes to run, but he did not return to the normal state. As the motherboard fan began to move at high speed, I decided to take out the battery. Result when I power my laptop back I 1 beep from the motherboard and a black screen.

    Can someone help me please?

Of course, the BIOS update procedure has not. Something was wrong during the update process and it seems that the EMRPOM module was not properly flashed.
This is the reason why the laptop is no longer.

    Possible solution?
Well, if EMPROM isn t damage, it should be possible to re-flashing the BIOS module once more, using special version of BIOS and crisis disk BIOS.
Usually the authorized Toshiba maintainer in your country should be able to re-flash of the module using this disc of crisis.

I also read in this forum that some people managed to re-flash EPROM module using some 3rd party crisis disk found somewhere in the internet but it still does not
The ASP will therefore probably be your last resort

However, to use the forums advanced search option to find related discussions on the crisis disk BIOS could be interesting for you

He said nothing, I mean diagnostic tool Pc can can show result falsely and the drive works very well himself. In any case, backup all data in case of failure. You can also download the 3rd party program to test the State of the hard drive. (such as hard drive Inspector)

  • How to connect my Satellite C660-119 to the TV

I want to connect laptop C660-119 to the TV but it seems not to be an HDMI port.
    Can you advise alternative solution?

It's a little complicated due to lack of HDMI port. According to specification for laptop, your laptop has RGB port only and it can be used if you want to connect the external monitor. This port sends a video signal only.

You can use this port to send the photo to the TV too. I put t know who don't TV you have and which ports has your TV, but for the sound you need to separate audio cable.
    It's a little complicated.

    Hello

BIOS update requires the VAP (value added package) and all the security tools should be put off.
Here are full instructions of the update to the BIOS:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=60

You can also check if new OS install this fix because this problem could be related to confused operating system, you know, but first try reinstalling the VAP and make sure you use the good BIOS.

Now the computer does not start, black screen, but the lights and the fan on

I followed a lot of posts to create a usb pen to recover the BIOS but I couldn't find the correct procedure and I don't know if where to find the correct bios for my laptop

Can you give me a hand with a step by step guide?
    TNX

In the worst case you will need to contact the Toshiba authorised service provider in order to solve this problem.

To my knowledge, a special crisis disk BIOS is required for reflashing the EMPRO module.
Some people were abele to create this disc using a few 3rd party apps but it wasn't always so I guess you have to contact service engineer has set.

  • Satellite C660 - Corrupt BIOS

I tried to update the BIOS of 1,00 to 1,20 yesterday through WinPhlash64, and it froze at halfway through the writing process.

Online, I read that there is a crisis recovery mode and a utility program from Phoenix who can help to reflash the BIOS... but for different satellite models (e.g., A350). I found the guide [here | http://forum.notebookreview.com/toshiba/469337-toshiba-satellite-a350-bios-recovery-phoenix.html].

Anyone know if it will work and * why * Toshiba do not welcome the original BIOS 1.00 version on the product page for this particular model?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hello

I can t tell a lot about the crisis for the BIOS recovery tool because whenever I did a BIOS update it worked properly, so I've never had a problem.

What I can say is be careful with these tools: you could destroy the whole ROM module and I believe that nobody has tested this tool on of Toshiba C660.

This BIOS recovery can be a service allowed because they have special tools to Toshiba, so I think in your case, I would like to get in touch with the guy to clarify the problem and they can help you get rid of it.

    Good luck! :)
