How can I remove homegroups forever?

Original title: HOMEGROUPS - hate THEM!

URGENT!  Please, please, please... someone instruct me how to remove forever the homegroups since my laptop HP for ever and ever.  Absolutely, I despise and hate having them.  Don't want, don't need and are an impossibility of my doing my work done competently and successfully completed timely.

Have Windows 7 Home Premium edition and do not understand how and why "suddenly" I joined a homegroup after removing me a few mos ago.  Don't know why this has happened and I'm SICK of it.  Remove its functionality forever my laptop HP X 16-1025nr is so necessary and would be eternally grateful for those who could help me.

This is my last straw with Windows... If this can not be removed FOREVER or, at the VERY less, STILL not turned off, then I have no choice but to go in an OPS which has no such nonsense.  Don't want to but the time is $$$ and do not have time for this ongoing issue to keep rearing its ugly head.

Have dealt with this recurring issue for WAY, WAY, WAY too long now and, after LOTS and LOTS of patience and diligence, I am now at my last rope to his subject.

Your help is essential and greatly appreciated.

Michael Gunner

Hello

Go to Control Panel / group/leave the homegroup, and click on leave the homegroup.

When all computers in the homegroup has left there is no more.

Then disable IPv6, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852

-------------------------------------

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = works only between computers of Win 7 (IPv6). This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

If you choose to use the work (IPv4) network.

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

-------------

If you have authorization and security problems, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

* Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

** Note . There must be specific users. All means all users who already have an account now as users. This does not mean everyone who feel they would like to connect.

*** Note. Some of the processes described above are made sake not for Windows, but to compensate for different routers and how their firmware works and stores information about computers that are networked.

I know and respect the fact that Sharief K is a Microsoft Support Engineer. but he doesn't know what he's talking about as a Microsoft Support engineer or he didn't understand the question.

However, here's how to solve the problem in the right way...

Question about this community newsletter is:

(Windows 8) How can I remove the 'host group icon"from the desktop?

    Answer:

1 right-click somewhere on the desktop that is free of icon/s with the left button of the mouse.
Select "Customize" in the context menu, which will take you to the selection of window customize.

    2. Select "Change desktop icons" in the area of the hand at the top left of this window.  A "Change desktop icons" dialog (context menu) is displayed.

    3. Note the box on the left of the 'network' is checked.  Uncheck the box and then left click of the mouse will apply.

    4. at this point, the 'host group icon"will be removed from the desktop.  Now again check the box to the left of the 'Network' and then the mouse left click apply.

And your all set.  That is of course until what you restart your computer, in which case this problem will happen again.  Gives one does not want to restart its system ever if you have Windows 8.

On a more personal note, I am A +, Network +, MCP and a Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology and experienced Microsoft since 1992 when I always still served in the U.S. Army.  Sorry, but I am appalled and disgusted with the OS of Windows 8 not to mention Microsoft Office.

  • How can I remove permissions on everything forever?

Hello - for my business, I use several external hard drives between multiple computers.  The permissions are driving me crazy.  How can I remove this feature/issue entirely, so I never have to worry about this again?  Today, I had a meeting and could not access my data in a timely, that irritated my client.

    Thanks in advance.

Right click on the file, folder or drive that you want to change permissions for and go to properties.

On the Security tab, set it so that 'Everyone' has 'full access '.

Now the file/folder/drive can be used by anyone without any restrictions at all.  ATTENTION: This means someone can steal the car and use it anywhere. The content is not protected at all.

    Hello

Let me see if I can sort this out.

You have a network named "Homegroup".

You have several working groups set in place, and you want to remove a computer from one of them?

If Yes, go to this computer, log in as administrator

Click Start > right click on my computer > select Properties

    Click the button change

Delete the name of your workgroup of the lower part of the window and in its place type 'WORKING group' which is the default setting.

How can I remove a 10 iOS app?

All 10 iOS did when I press and hold, is to bring up a menu - which is a feature new, unexpected and undesirable new iOS operating system 10. This action is used to make the icons to move, I could press the "x" on the app, and it has been deleted. Now, I get a menu, without any option to delete.

I just thought about it - you must maintain the App "slightly" and then move the icons, and you can press the 'x' to remove the application. If you push hard and here, the menu useless appears - lack of vision of Steve Jobs to Apple... he really wants this App menu? Without disabling option - the only thing I see is maybe turn off touch 3D, but I have not yet tried this plan.

Tactile 3D power off will solve the problem. You can also try setting the sensitivity of touch 3D cabinet so that there is a major difference between a light and press tap. Tactile 3D can also just take some time to get used to. I struggled for the first week with building accidentally instead of tapping, but now I'm a pro at home. To access the tactile 3D settings, go to settings > general > accessibility > scroll to the 3D button.
