How can I remove the photoshop background by default so that I can see my desktop?

How remove the default photoshop "background" (don't know what Adobe calls) so that I can see my desktop? Let me explain. When I open photoshop, it takes up my entire screen. I don't like it. I have to minimize the background to be able to see my office. I took for fixed the menus on the left, top and right and minimizing the background, but every time I open a photoshop file, the background reappears as a cover on my desk, so I have to keep to a minimum the bottom once again. Photoshop guess I should be focusing on a single file at a time and only this file, when in the real world, I jump to a file in a file, several times having photoshop multiple files open at the same time, not to mention other open files as well as a browser too. There MUST be a default setting to open photoshop without the distracting background, but I have not yet found. Can you please help? Thank you. stem

Hi superpage,.

This can be achieved if you are on a Mac.

Go to the window menu, and then choose Application Frame.

Kind regards
