How can I run sfc or sfc.exe in windows XP SP3

Windows XP SP3, media edition ver 2002

PAM open window has reported the problems with system files

pre-loaded Dell software, do not have the disc cd XP 2 Professional asked for installation in the cd player.

I have the dell disk operating system and drivers and disk utitilies.

I would like to launch sfc to find the problem, then run sfc/scannow to try to resolve the problem.

I can do in the immediate window, or should I open the cmd prompt, or make some time at startup to perform

correction action? Hope my question is simple, appreciate all the help I'm not safe and does not want to

create more problems. Thank you

Hello

Let us first start the sfc scan and check if there are any file system corruption.
a. to do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right click Guest and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
b. type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
