How can I stop automatic updates of Firefox?

I read the following: "Mozilla changes the way Firefox installs on computers in an apparent concession to the users of the company, he held previously were irrelevant." Versions of the future of the browser open source will download and install silently on your machine, saving you the trouble to download and allow the update. »
It's NOT acceptable for me as there are has several extensions I use seem to lag behind your updates for several months. These programs / extensions are more important then having my browser set to day without my permission. I need to be able to control when updates so that these programs work correctly. One of these program/extension is my sure financial sign-in the device. It's always months behind any browser updated. Please allow me to decide when it is best for me to update the browser. Therefore, how can I prevent the automatic updates each does not happen?
Please send me the instructions for details.

  • Can not stop auto update latest firefox version

    Hello

I googled a lot of answers about stopping the automatic update of firefox. But unable to do it and not be able to use the functionality offered in the context of the browser. I have to do this deliberately to have my selenium framework support the static browser version like every last updated maybe not having a ready selenium supported server.

I did what follows, but not luck.

    (1) tools-> Options-> advanced-> update-> Set to "never check...". ». After reboot, the option is set to "automatically install...". ».
    (2) in the about: config-> set the following as below:

    ----- app.update.url = null
    ----- app.update.url.details = null
    ----- app.update.url.manual = null
    ----- app.update.mode = 0
    ----- app.update.silent = false

But still when I go to-> Firefox; Updates automatically start the download.

Is there a solution to stop the auto-update feature and I would like to download/upgrade to update firefox by me manually. Why build it in function does not work?

Am on company Win7 64-bit Service Pack 1.

"But still when I go to-> Firefox; Updates automatically start the download. "

This isn't the automatic update, causing the update - it triggers a manual update when you open Firefox. At least until this was changed in Firefox 37.0

IMO, when using selenium, you would be better served by using the version of ESR (Extended Support Release) of Firefox. He receives an update of major version of each 8 quick release version updates. You receive security updates without the major version change, and without receiving all of the new features like the release of versions have. ESR is intended 'institutional', but there is no ban on regular users by using ESR.

  • How can I stop automatic downloads to my iphone

I want to stop updates iOS pushed to my iOS devices. It is inconvenient, expensive and rude to download something on my machine without my explicit permission. Any software that does this would be considered to be malware - and I want to stop it.

I'm the one who paid for the equipment. So I should be totally in control of ALL behavior of download.

So, please! Someone show my how to stop downloads pushed to my iOS devices. Disabling automatic updates in the section App and iTunes does nothing.

Go to settings - iTunes & App Store - automatic downloads and options that you need not turn off.

Software updates are made after your approval.

If you select the download updates but let me choose... option, no update will install without your approval. Suppose an update will require a reboot and does not approve the installation of an update until & unless you are ready to restart.

You can change the setting "notify only". Once you have done this, you will need to approve the updates are downloaded updates are installed commandeLorsque, which they are installed.

    I prefer "Notify only" setting.

What are the differences between Windows updates and automatic updates from Microsoft Updates?

While Windows Update provides updates specifically for Windows, Microsoft Update expands the service to download and install updates for other Microsoft software, such as Microsoft Office and Windows Live [as well as Silverlight & Microsoft Security Essentials]. Update automatic is a feature that allows you to configure your PC to automatically download and install updates using each service, making it easy and convenient for you to keep your current Windows PC.

If you disable Microsoft Update, your default update source is "reversed" update of Windows, but it does NOT neutralize automatic updates.

  • How can I stop Windows Update restart my computer in Windows 7 Home Premium?

While I don't mind Windows Update automatically updates from my PC, view it force a reboot when I am connected causes a problem.  I currently have WU configured to perform updates to 03:00, and when it's over, if to do a reboot, I'm not here to tell him to wait.  I'd rather leave time settings as they are and simply disable the auto restart, opting instead for WU to let me know that he needs to restart the PC.  I found ways to do this on XP and Vista, including registry changes and changes to group policy.  However, the registry is obviously a little different, so the keys do not exist compared to what I found, and since I am running Home Premium I have no gpedit.

Where in the registry can I make a change so I do not data lost when WU resets my computer at night?

Another way to do it without hacking the registry, which can be scary for some users), is to follow the instructions on the following Web site:

    http://weblogs.ASP.NET/jgalloway/archive/2006/02/11/438009.aspx

I stuck in the main rooms, in the cases where the link is dead (but not nice photo well):

    1. Click Start-> Run (or Vista and 7 just press the windows ORB)
    2. Type: gpedit.msc
    3. Expand Local computer policy / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Update
    4. Double-click on "to demand no auto restart for automatic updates installations".
    5. Select 'Active', then OK. Close the group policy configuration program.

    This should stop it autorestarting.

  • How can I disable the updates of Firefox?

I've updated Firefox a month ago and since then, it continually keeps asking me to update again. Is it possible that turns off? I'm sorry that I've updated the last time, because it seems to crash a lot more than before.

You can change your settings to automatic under Update

Orange button or Firefox menu Tools > Options > advanced

However, I think that rather than worry about Firefox 7, it would be wiser to modernize and then work with the volunteers here to solve the crash problem. Otherwise, you have both a non-secure browser AND crashing, which is not an ideal situation.

If you need to revert to the version that you used before the upgrade, there is a Web site (linked on the page that I just asked you to check) that lists the older versions. You could be managed to return to an older version by installing Firefox from this page.
