  Hi, I have a lab at home where I have an ESXi 5.1.0 host configured to turn on a virtual machine at startup of the host. The host starts and I'll see the DCUI for a few seconds before getting a purple screen crash. This started after I set up a virtual machine to use the pass through peripheral PCI. I found 2039030 which explains this bug KB. There is a patch, but as much as I know I can't apply it because the host crashes. Now, I'm a bit of a newb and was looking for ways to reset the configuration to prevent switch off when the host starts the virtual machine. I can't find a way to make this change. I tried the recovery of hypervisor mode during startup (Maj (R) but I get a warning saying there is no other hypervisors for restore. So is there a way I can either apply the hotfix to a host offline esxi (starting with a knoppix USB) or change a configuration so that vm does not automatically turn on, or if necessary just reset the entire configuration (again, by booting to a usb key)?   Probably the best way to reset the configuration in this case is to re - install ESXi. Make sure that you select "Install ESXi, VMFS datastore preserve" and - once installed and configured - register the virtual machine to inventory in click with the right button on their .vmx files in the data store Navigator.

  Hi my father fell fault in the crooks of the phone and his laptop computer was locked to start upward.

  After pressing the power he gets a black screen and a blue box asking for a password (I guess that it is a Bios password as it is almost immediately after power on...) Windows is not loaded).

  After that three attempts the system becomes invalid with an error code of 61066100

  I tried to remove the CMOS battery and the problem persists.

  Anyone out there know how to work around this problem, or totally reset the Bios to work around / reset the password?

  You can break down this way:

  Thick/Thin client-> install the Client from the view

  Virtual office-> install the Agent display (so it can communicate with the Server View Manager)

  Manager connection server (virtual or physical machine)-> install ViewManager (after installation, attach to vCenter)

  vCenter Server (virtual or physical machine)-> install View Composer (requires a system DSN configuration)

  I want to install an external SSD as boot on an iMac of 2012 drive, but I don't have enough space for all my files and documents.

  I plan on backup and by installation tasks and using the migration wizard to change apps and accounts internal users through the SSD from the HARD drive.

  The main question is my videos, pictures (including the photo library) and iMovie projects (and associated files), so I was planning on uncheck the video files and images in the for the corresponding user accounts migration wizard.

  My questions are:

  1. This sounds like a reasonable plan?

  2. what happens to the folders/files I leave on the drive HARD internal and how I "reconnect" them with the OS on the SSD? *

  * i.e. is there a new folder of videos or photos on the SSD and in the Finder, or Mac would automatically know they were still on the internal drive?

  In this case, the machine boot CD and select fresh installion will be the best option. To be able to boot from the CD, you must change the BIOS startup sequence. Please:

  • Restart the machine to access the BIOS by pressing F10 (repeatly shortly) during the initialization of the process (before Windows logo turns upward).
  • Once you're there, select the Advanced tab.
  • Then select CD/DVD
  • Press F10 to save and exit.

  After that, put the CD of XP installtion for machine and restart.
