How do I back up my bookmarks firefox on Onedrive

I work for the helpdesk and I will try to find a solution to the customer who uses Firefox as your primary browser, but we must change the location of the bookmarks and be able to synchronize on OneDrive and all new bookmarks should be put here.

Thanks for your help

Unfortunately, this is not possible. The places.sqlite file must stay inside the profile folder in order to work properly. It is a security measure.

In addition, please note that the places.sqlite file stores more information than just your bookmarks. Your browsing history and download history is stored in this file also.

Do you mind sharing your reason for wanting to store a copy of your bookmarks on OneDrive?

  • How to roll back the update of Firefox 29? I hate it.

I got the update of Firefox 29. I don't like it and removed features (for example, the bar add-on). How to restore? I have to completely uninstall Firefox?

Hi netscaper, several years of research with users went into this redesign, but of course you may not all agree on the same thing.

As a small non-profit organization, Mozilla doesn't have the means to do everything herself. Firefox has since always the philosophy of trying to keep the lean browser and allowing for customization through modules. Sometimes the ride is bumpy, but generally you have several ways to do the job.

If there are special features that are essential to bring back into the product itself, please give your comments here:

  • How to get back to the default firefox title bar look?

snapshot of my title bar with windows xp theme

This is what my title bar looks like. I do not know what is the problem, but that bar title of theme color that bothers me and I want that the default firefox title bar back (gray colored uniformly who hangs completely behind unused space in the tab bar) as one that is displayed in the link given below.

Title bar with uniform colored background

    Thanking in anticipation.

You can do that on Windows XP. Your second screenshot comes from Vista and there you can have it like that. In XP you will always have the title bar as shown in your first screenshot.

  • Bookmarks lost after reformatting my SSD. How to bring back the profile/bookmarks?

All Favorites disappeared after I reformatted the SSD drive which contained my profile folder. You save on your end, as well as locally (on my computer)? It just happened today, if that helps at all. I provide some information about the profile if it would make a difference. Thank you!

Mozilla is not a copy of your browser data unless you subscribe to the synchronization service. In this case, you should be able to use your credentials to sync to connect your Firefox newly installed to your account. I'm not an expert in sync, so that's all I can tell you about Sync.

If you set never sync, then you can always retrieve data depend on what kind of format you did. In some cases, Windows creates a C:\Windows.old folder with your old data. In other cases, utilities like Piriform Recuva may be able to rebuild some of the files. But then there are moments where it's hopeless...

  • How can I return to 6.3 4.0 I have never had a problem with 3.6 and now 4.0 crashes all the time tell me how to go back

How can I return to 4.0 3.6 I've never had a problem with 3.6 and now 4.0 crashes all the time tell me how to go back

Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.

I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.

  • How can I copy restored c:\documents and settings\myusername\favorites\bookmarks at tab bookmarks Firefox bookmarks?

My computer crashed and I had to restore it to its condition of purchase (2008). I had backed up all my data on Mozy. After the restoration of 12 GB of files, the 'Favorites' folder is in C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\favorites. The old shortcuts are in the folder, but I can't have them at my bookmarks Firefox tab. How can I do this?

You can't do it this way. Those are the Favorites of IE and Firefox can't handle these files. You need to export your IE Favorites in bookmarks.htm format so that you then import this file into Firefox.

    In Internet Explorer:

File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

    then in Firefox:

Bookmarks > show all bookmarks-> import and backup - import HTML... = HTML file

  • My family disappeared from bookmarks, restore did not work, it nothing in the file wae, I found by chance "backups" in the trash! any ideas on how to get back them

My FireFox bookmarks disappeared, there is nothing in the backup file, by chance, I found FireFox Bookmarks in the trash. How to make?

SUCCESS! Found a reasonable backup of my favorites in the wastebasket of Windows. To answer a question on this subject there was nothing in the "Backupfile" Firefox was pointing to when I tried the restore of the bookmark. I found the backup file using Windows Explorer (a blow of dagger in the dark). Once I found this file, I went back to restore the FireFox bookmarks and pointed at the location in the Recycle Bin of Windows. My Favorites where restored, partially, but I was able to use them.

Details of the location: C: > Recyclebin > Old Fire Fox data > Bookmarkbackups > Favx7nty -?. XXXXXXXX.

Att/yahoo updated my email, which suggests to select Firefox as the browser, but how to get back the taskbar?

Hi, you are missing the taskbar Windows, which usually appears at the bottom of the screen? Firefox normally does not block the taskbar if you do not use the mode full-screen. To check if you are using full-screen, you can use the F11 key that toggles between full screen and normal mode.

Or if you meant the menu bar (File, Edit, View), you have two options:

    (1) display on request: press the ALT key to press F10 to display bar temporarily

    (2) time full display: you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select menu bar it:

  • I did a Reset of Firefox - how can I add my 'old data firefox' back?

I did a reset of Firefox which was a mistake because it does not solve my problem.

In any case, I now have a file 'old data firefox"which include things like Ad Blocker more so how I put all these programs in Firefox yet?

When you reset Firefox and a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, data form) are automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved on the desktop to a folder "Old data Firefox".
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made are lost and must be redone.

It is possible to retrieve the data from the old profile, but be careful not to copy the files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

    See:

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

All of a sudden, the Yahoo homepage is different with Firefox. How to bring back the old home page? I prefer the one that is always displayed on Internet Explorer. I deleted Firefox and re-installed but the rest of the problem. Help, please.

Well, it's a problem in your Firefox. To me this https://www.yahoo.com/ page looks like the screenshot of IE.

Many issues of the site can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache. To try to solve these problems, the first step is to clear cookies and cache.
Note: This will be you temporarily disconnect all sites, you're connected to.
To clear the cache and cookies to do the following:

    1. Click the menu button

, choose historic, then on clear recent history...

    2. Under "Time range to clear", select "all".
    3. Now, click the arrow next to details to toggle the active details list.
    4. In the list of details, see the Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything.
    5. Now click the clear now button.

  • My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files. How do I take the old bookmarks if there is no backup?

My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files on the old drive. How do I take the old bookmarks if no backup exists, or has been completed? Does not save bookmarks of FireFox auto? If, then what is the file name and where is normally stored by FireFox?

In fact, it can be easier...

If you have the old drive connected as, say, drive E, go to:

    E:\Users\username

Then click in the address bar and paste it after this and press ENTER to open it:

    \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Normally, you have only one file, which has a random string followed by "default." In this case, click on this file and find the subfolder bookmarkbackups.

If you find multiple profile folders, look inside to find the most recently updated backups.

To restore the backup files, see: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer

  • Every time Firefox opens, I get new tab, with my desired as a tab page I click on get to. How to get back to how it was in previous versions?

After updating to the latest version of Firefox, when it opens I get two tabs, and one that appears on my screen is new tab with my homepage on the other, which requires that I click on it to go. Also, when I click on a link, the same thing happens, a new tab page comes up, with what I clicked on as another tab I have to click to get to. It's actually quite boring and inconvenient. How to get back to the way it was, so that when I run Firefox it opens on my homepage, and when a new page opens, I see the content of the link I clicked on? This new and improved IMO is really new and worse.

A further extension could have snuck in. These can be bundled with other software you may have installed recently.

Try turning off all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off. (Or so completely junk, delete).

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

That get rid of the extra tab?

Note: I also suggest to visit the Control Panel, uninstall a program and by clicking on the column heading "installed on". This should bring the most recent additions at the top and group by install date so that you can examine the software may have unexpected how have been installed.
