How do I go to get a Windows XP Pro disc?

I have a PC I bought a product key from a local computer store.  I don't have a cd, but I don't have the key.  The company had to stop their activities because I bought the key during a repair on my system.  I now need to reformat, but I have no disk to install windows with.  What can I do in this situation?

Nothing.  It is illegal to sell stand-alone Microsoft Windows product keys without including the original installation media of autheticating.  Because Windows XP is no longer available, consider purchasing Windows 7. Carey Frisch

Windows XP disks are no longer manufactured or sold. You * may * be able to find a place with an old stock for sale, but it is not very likely. Close your only choice is to purchase a used copy somwhere (but I would avoid eBay, where any software you buy is probably hacked).

  • Where can I get a Windows Vista installation disc?

My old Acer laptop crashed about a year & a half.  I bought a new laptop.  The other day I plugged it to see what would happen.  He came & the guest a insert the Windows Vista installation disc.  Where can I get this drive?  Windows Vista came pre-installed with the laptop, so I do not have a disk with him.  Acer does not know because the laptop is out of warranty.  They told me to take the laptop to a computer repair shop.  Well, I don't want to spend that much money to find out what was on the laptop when it crashed.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

As you never received a recovery disk when you bought your laptop Acer here is how to use the internal recovery Partition command which must be...

"How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

    To start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. etc.

And if you have problems with the help of the Partiiton of recovery and Acer supplies more recovery media for previous models preinstalled Vista, you may need to use this method:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

As far as I am concerned, if it is genuine hardly important.
If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned the
first thing I could do with it would be to reinstall the operating
system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone
other errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc. and I
would not recommend anyone else to do.

Your choice of course, but in my opinion, you're playing with fire if you
    do not reinstall Windows properly.

  • Upgrade the hardware of Dell XPS (L521x) how to perform a clean reinstall of Windows 10 Pro

    Hello

I searched on the internet with the question that I have before doing the upgrade and the re-installation of windows. But the messages and solutions are all scattered. I really want to clear this for me once and for all if possible.

First of all, the material that I bought for this upgrade:

1 Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD 120 GB (to replace the one 32 GB (factory default)

2 western Digital Black 750Go Performance Mobile HDD (7200 RPM, 2.5 inches)

    3 Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless - AC 7260 (802.11ac, 2 x 2 Wi - Fi, Bluetooth)

    4. crucial Ballistix Sport SODIMM 16 GB (2x8GB) PC3-14900 CL10 at 1.35v 204 pin memory

BTW, my Dell XPS 15 L521x has an intel core i7-3632QM and an nVIDIA GeForce GT 640 M. It also comes with 32 mSATA SSD as cache for the WDC 1 TB HARD drive.

    My goal:

1 install/reinstall Windows 10 mSATA SSD 120 GB and free 500 MB give or take for system reserved partition.

    2. use the remaining space in the C: drive.

    3. use WD Black 2.5 inch 750 GB HHD for cold storage

    4. Remove and reinstall the wireless card Intel Dual Band for a better Wi - Fi compatiability for most routers dual band out there. (Factory default, well, is not great to say the least)

    5. Remove and then install the crucial RAM (compatiable with L521x) is to upgrade memory of my laptop (maybe a little future-proof;) (D).

Before you start the upgrade, I know I have to do the following steps:

    1. update my BIOS/UEFI. (I did it)

2 clear accelerated Intel Rapid Start Technology (IRST) GUI (my laptop keeps inviting that "your system does not have any intel repaid with start technology").

    3. change Intel Smart response Technology (ISRT) to AHCI in BIOS

    4 back up my files

    5. my 10 Pro Activation of emergency Windows (how exactly? The Win10 Pro is upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 with OEM Dell)

Now my question is what I do or what I've been missing so that what I will meet errors or problems if possible.

Also, I have heard or seen something on the OEM of Windows version. If I change the hardware, disk files or recovering backup activation does not recognize my device. Is this true? If necessary, I can buy a new version of Win10 Pro retail. But, what I really need to do, and does it perform a not-so-complicated work around?

    Thank you very much

    Dean

If you keep your motherboard you have no problem taking the other components such as SSDS.

Your system is already a Pro 10 Windows device.

Installing clean with 10 Windows installation media Pro TH2 your OEM Pro 8.1 Windows key will be automatically entered to the UEFI BIOS and Windows 10 Pro TH2 automatically reactivates when your systems online.

  • I bought windows 8 pro discs, then my computer is dead, I can install it on the new computer of windows 8 and how do I do this?

Also, what is the difference between the pro version and the Windows 8.1 update? I'm not a pro like you old guys, simple answers would be really appreciated, thanks.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft community!

    1. Yes, you can re - install Windows 8 on a different computer.  Before you re-install in another computer, please make sure that you remove Windows 8 to the computer that you have already installed software license terms Microsoft lets a copy must be installed on one computer only.
To remove Windows 8 of the current computer, you must perform a clean installation of Windows 8. Install with previous operating system drive (Windows 7\ Vista\XP). This removes Windows 8 in the current computer and install the previous operating system.
Note: You may lose all your data when you perform a new installation, so please back up all data before installing the previous operating system.
Once you have removed Windows 8 from the current computer, download Windows 8 in the new computer and install. When installing, please provide the same license key that you used during your first installation of Windows 8. You can also find this key in the purchase confirmation email that you received.
    2. As your second question, Windows 8.1 will be a free update for users of Windows 8. Which means, you must have a version of Windows 8 in order to install Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 brings updates for the Windows 8 Pro(or any other Windows 8 version). See the following links to learn more about Windows 8.1:

  • Pro Media Center of Windows 8 license is not triggered. How can I make it back to Windows 8 Pro license

I received a free upgrade license for Windows 8 Pro with Media Center, at the time where they offered.

I have not noticed that the license is good if active before a date which has since long (a few times in February). That mistake has nothing to do with that said vs "I copied it", "I moved it" and entry into the library of Virtual Machine that shows the error, because there is no longer the path can be removed from the library Virtual Machine.  CTRL-click on the entry for the one who does not work, then select Remove.

I exempt backup capsal Virtial Machine time under Documents.

    It seems to work.

I can I have copied in the wrong place because you can't see the file under user/bill/document/virtual machine/folder.

Not sure if thi is a problem.

Well, if you are exempted from a folder and package kidnapped virtual is not in this folder, then of course, it is a problem because the packaging of the VM get backed up by Time Machine then I suggest that you correct the situation.

Under Capssule time I deleted backup for Fusion App in your applications because I assume that the large 27 GB file is there.

If not, where should I go to stop the time Capsule this large file to backup every hour.

Why the hell you would make such an assumption!  The beam of Fusion.app from VMware is separate and outside the .vmwarevm Package and files/folders are backed up by using the same relative paths because they reside on the Macintosh hard drive.  The only way that a real Virtual Machine you created would be inside the VMware Fusion.app Bundle is if you put unfairly here.  All you have to do the Virtual Machine library is ctrl - click on the target of the Virtual Machine and select Show in Finder and the ctrl + click the target Virtual Machine package and select information and look where he is.  The last part of what I just said is nothing more basic file management.

Still no undersyand why it works without Bootcamp and be applied to run the two without having to reboot to move backward. I question the manual I was for level 1 and updated version to version 2 have to be diferent.

You don't need to use Boot Camp in the VMware Fusion installation order and create normal file based on Virtual Machines.  Boot Camp is part of OS X 10.5 and later versions and is independent and has nothing to do with VMware Fusion, except if you also want to start the native Windows Installer on the Boot Camp partition in a Machine virtual Raw disk.  Take a look at choose settings of VM of law because it might help you understand a little more.
