  I am writing this post here as representatives of Adobe are not very helpful over the phone and I'm out of ideas. I hope that I can get more results with representatives in the forum.

  I bought the physical Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition, Windows 7, in the Dutch language for my son (customer 0284436485), and he went through the academic status review procedures. On April 5, 2012, Adobe sent us the confirmation of acceptance and the serial number by email.

  After it bought a new laptop a few weeks ago, he needed to reinstall the CS 5.5 but I can't find the DVD back. September 9, I called Adobe in Belgium support number, explaining and asking a download link or a new DVD of the CS5.5 or other AIDS and the representative told me that they had not a download link for the CS 5.5 there was a way for me to order a DVD of spare.

  He told me, but there were two alternatives:

  1. buy the CS6 upgrade that would validate my CS5.5!

  2. go on the web, find a copy of the CS 5.5 Dutch and activate it with my Adobe series, that might make it authentic.

  I even had these 2 points in an email support_noreply confirming my phone contacts with them. Of course, it was a lot more explicit by phone on item 2.

  I just wanted to say that, apart from the completely unnecessary discussion, I had with this representative, I find cela scandaluous that Adobe representatives provide real customers to get a bootleg copy on the web and to validate this copy with serial number Adobe. When, in saying the representative on the phone that I was not competent in the collection of software on the web and I read that many apps are "contaminated" with the virus, etc., that said, it would be a risk worth taking and that I should find out more about the web.

  Please, all I want to know is: I spent 300 + € on Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition, I lost the physical DVD - it can happen to anyone (we moved homes in the month of August) - and I need to reinstall the software on a new HP dv7 laptop. How to get a return to the top of the software for which I paid (Dutch CS5.5) and this without accepting the 'solution' by the Adobe representative who makes us buy the upgrade of the CS6 (another some 100 euros more). I tried the solution as described on prodesigntools but it does not work for me. Time is running out, academic years started againsince a few weeks and my son lacks a very useful and very useful tool.

  I understand that you don't trust free downloads on the internet, but still, if you want you can try to download the product from here. Probably blame Support Adobe here would not be the best thing. Adobe ships new products and then stops providing media for the oldest one from time to time and I think it's OK. Many people have tried to download from here, and they succeeded.

• How can I run Adobe CS Design Standard on El Capitan Mac 5.5?

  I have Adobe CS 5.5 on my MacBook Pro for 4 years and have had performance issues very few.

  Last November/December 2015, I installed the OS El Capitan recommended on my MacBook (v. 10.11.3 (15 d 21)).

  Illustrator, Photoshop, and Bridge all have run for a long time before this point.

  A recent project of layout, I had to use InDesign, which I had not used for several months.

  I opened InDesign and the program could not work almost instantly.

  The rest of the project had to be completed in Illustrator.

  To try to solve this problem found, I uninstalled the software and then reinstalled to see if that makes a difference.

  I also went online to get the latest update for InDesign (Adobe InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3 for Macintosh - all languages updated)

  After this point, the program seems to work very well.

  3. my computer went quickly through a series of screen flickers freezing almost all computer (I turned off the WiFi and the question may disappear - after you download El Capitan has raised this issue independent)

  4. I then tried to open Illustrator, which is generally not a problem

  5. after starting, I noticed a beach ball bearing blue (sometimes it's a colorful beach ball)

  6. the ball then frozen

  7. a few seconds later, the computer stops and goes through a series of restarts

  I first thought that El Capitan was causing my computer to malfunction, but now its it thinks including Adobe software.

  I uninstalled the software and do not have these same computer problems.

  Who else has this problem?

  What measures can be taken to prevent this problem from happening again?

  Is this due to El Capitan?

  The installation disc has become obsolete over time?

  Is my subscription end and do not work on my computer saved?

  I really appreciate your advice and comments.

  I agree with Bob. CS5.5 is categorised as "end-of-life". He will never receive an update.

  You have two choices: (1) roll back to an earlier version of Mac OS X, or (2) the update of a creative cloud subscription.

  It is not specific to you. A very large number of people with CS6 or earlier is installed or not work well in El Capitan.

  Answer: Find the dmg DesignStardard file in my download history. Opened, who opened the Adobe installer. Was able to download the previously not downloaded Acrobat X.

  Yes, you are allowed to have the software enabled on both machines (you can install on as many as you want) but can have only one of them using the subscription at the same time.

  Hi Michel,.

  Please open the monitory of activity by going to Applications > utilities on your Mac. You can search any processes with the name of SAFARI COULD HISTO and close it. More detailed instructions can be found here: error with Adobe products: close the following applications.

  Also, make sure you reinstall your CS5.5 disc or direct download. If you use Time Machine or similar backup to restore your programs on your computer reformatted, you may encounter issues. Adobe programs do not correctly migrate due to hidden files permissions.

  As long as you stay in the same general platform (PC vs Mac), you don't need to change the license.  You are allowed to have two facilities activated with your license, so you should be able to install on your new computer without having to worry about the other oldest at all (unless you never want to release the second activation for yet another machine).  As you said, you can download the trial version and use the serial number of your purchase to activate it to use fully.

  If you registered your software with Adobe, the serial number should be available through your Adobe account online.  If you don't enter it then you at least will understand why it is profitable to do so.

  The ProDesignTools connects all the work for me.  I use IE 11 and, first, in the very important Instructions section I first Ctrl-click on him click here to visit this Page first link, which shows me a LR 5 download page and most importantly, sets the cookie for leave to Adobe, then without closing this tab, I Ctrl-click on the links of CS4 Design Standard and they all started a download , which I immediately canceled.
