How do I trouble unavailable brightness settings after windows 8 to 8.1 update?

HP laptop Envy m6

Core i7 with 2 GB Radeon graphics card

Installed to 8.1, first time using it, I managed to set the brightness, I blieve a few minutes because of the 8.1 upodate my laptop began to use the drivers and graphics settings Intel that has disabled things such as the correct information on the graphics card and display in the Panel.

I spent hours trying to solve this problem, has done all the easy stuff like uninstall and install the correct drivers for AMD and the website of HP, System Restore, I have tried using the power settings (no brightness control was available there either) and tried the same Device Manager tried ccleaner.

I need a fix ASAP, can not work with this blinding brightness.

I must point out even after uninstalling the new Intel graphics drivers and software and install the original drivers (which does not alter) options intel appear after reboot.

Side smashing is the hell out of this notebook with a baseball bat a correct solution?

I don't want to reinstall windows.

To solve the problem of brightness, point 8.1 follow these steps:

1.) right click on the windows on the lower left corner icon. A menu appears.

2.) click on Device Manager, and then double-click
Cards graphics and AMD Radeon HD8470D appears. Double-click on that. An AMD properties appears. Click the driver. Go down to update driver, then click on about it. It can lower the brightness at the moment, so go back to the previous version and click on it, and that's all you need to do. Then, go to the parameter in the right-hand corner, and you should be able to use the slider to change the brightness.
It worked for me. I even turned off the computer, and then he turned his back and slide still works and
changes the brightness. Good luck.

    Go to--> properties and reset all default file. Those are the only parameters that you can modify in the paint, so they should work :)

    This problem of auto brightness is been bothring for a long time now and I can't find any fix for this at all the

    the display will:

    -Bright when seen on screen a white web page, document, photo

    - and it dims down when seen on the screen a dark web page / documents or photo

    I have tried everything I can find in the forums to stop it but no success at all the :'(

    I changed the settings and turn off auto brightness in windows 8 advaced power plan settings

    Found a solution that worked for me crazy (because it was also me).

    I'm on a HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC with Intel HD graphics card (4600):

    Right click on desktop

    Select "Graphics properties" (to adjust the Intel graphics settings)

    Select "Power".

    Click on 'on battery '.

    Turn off "display energy saving technology.

    I did this, so that an electric battery and it solved the problem immediately. Spent in AC, and it was still stable.

    When the recovery process is complete and you are prompted for a reboot just press start button / stop and turn it off. I think it's only thing you can do.

    Anyway, why not start Windows and go through the configuration option. New owner can modify this basic anyway parameters. As username Admin and language and the keyboard can be set as default.

    For example, if you have a picture of German recovery set to German. New owner can change in any case.
