  Also note that you don't have NO Windows XP Media Center Edition, installed now if you upgraded to Windows XP Professional.

  PS: If "winver" still says Windows XP Media Center Édition, did you not correctly upgraded & something is not. Better contact the Dell Support on this issue (if they'll still talk to you).

  I wonder if anyone with XPS 2710 (mid-2012) Core i7 has successfully upgraded to Windows 10 professional?

  If so, it would be useful to know how long the Windows 10 Professional upgrade works and if the hits include a clean install.

  Would appreciate any further feedback/suggestion on the upgrade of this model.

  As far as I KNOW, anyone who could save a 2710 XP from Win 10 black screen of death, returned to their old version of Windows. So even if they were able to recover, they don't run win 10.

  If you need to win 10, you can sell this PC with Win 8.1 and not risk trying to upgrade. You get at least a few $$ out of a nice working system.  If you upgrade to Win 10 and it fails...
