  you don't have because your screen is broken and disabled.

  It of too late to save now, not sure why you save up to icloud or iTunes on a regular basis.

  You must back up all data you want to keep, if you follow these instructions or not. This includes data on the external hard drive. All what is not saved will be lost later. If you can afford a Mac expensive luxury, then you can afford about US $50 for a big enough to backup all your files from USB hard drive. What you can not afford is a $10.000 + data recovery after a disk with no failure backup.
