  I'm not sure of the method that you use to access your external drive, but regardless of the type of drive, it's (portable hard drive, USB key, etc.) they are all accessible fashion.

  It works on all versions of Windows.

  Connect the USB hard drive. A driver installed the first time you use it.
  

  Click Start, then computer and double-click it to open it.
  

  You should see similar to this image of hard drive icons.

  

  When you plug the laptop drive, another icon of the disc is added to your list. This is the icon you open to access the content.

  If a new drive icon does not appear when it is connected, your computer does not recognize the drive and so you will have to go through the steps of troubleshooting of the error.

  It depends on what program he blocked.  If you just answered to a guest of VistaUAC with a 'Cancel' and then sims3will not be blocked, because UAC does not have a 'memory', so you can just run sims3, once again.  If your Firewall blocked then it probably has a learning mode and will continue the block until turn you the tide in the firewall settings by adding it to "Exclusions".  However, the exact method to remove the "block" depends on which firewall you have.  If it has been blocked by Windows Defender then instructions on how to run again is in this Microsoft KnowledgeBase Article:

  Why not put a link on a page on your site. With a link to your pdf file that opens a new window. Then fill it the will of the user, submit. The window closes and voila you are back on your site.

  Hello 4646tm, I understand your frustration. Here's how to remove a plugin:
  Click the menu and then click on Add ons, which looks like a piece of a puzzle.

      Type about:plugins into the Location bar and press Enter to display the About Plugins page.
     Each entry in the About Plugins page will have "File:" and "Path:", showing the name and location of the plugin file. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder shown for the plugin you want to remove.
     Rename the file to add an X in front of the filename (for instance, npswf32 becomes Xnpswf32).
  

  You said that you do not want links, but I'll give you a couple just in case you do not want to uninstall the plugins manually. These links are to pages that tell you how to run the uninstall it please do not hesitate to tell me if you think that they are not useful.
