  • How do you define separate in Windows Live Mail accounts as you would in Outlook Express?

I used Outlook Express for years.  Now that I have Windows 7, Outlook Express is not an option.  That's ok.  However, I have problems of establishing separate accounts in Windows Live Mail as I did in Outlook Express.

I created three accounts in Outlook Express.  When you open Outlook Express, we saw all three names in the window.  Would you click on a name, a password, and then you connect.

I want to do the same thing in Windows Live Mail.  I tried everything I know.  Someone suggested to go to the accounts and make new ones.  I did, but who made new account to go on Windows 7.  I don't want to do that.

If anyone knows how to help, please contact me with directions.

    Thank you.

  • How to export my contacts from Windows Live Mail on XP

I searched for this answer for the last 2 hours.  All the answers are for Vista & Windows 7.   How to export my Windows Live Mail addresses so that I can use in Thunderbird?  I'm moving to Thunderbird because quick view is off & on display unread messages.  They watch for a few days, then stop broadcasting.  Then repeat for a few days, then stop again.  This is happening for more than a month because there was an update of the first part of the last month.
But back to my original question.  How to export my contacts from Windows Live Mail.  When I click on the file to export and then export, there is nothing highlighted.   So, how can I get my contacts?  Or is there another way to do otherwise than through WLM >

    Thank you

This is happening for more than a month because there was an update of the first part of the last month.

There has been no update for WLMail 2009 since April 2010. Update do you think has affected your quick view?

How to export my contacts from Windows Live Mail.

Open the contacts window by clicking the address book at the foot of the folders pane. On the file menu, click export , and then select comma separated (CSV) values. If you don't see the menu bar, press ALT.

Note that the last statement on the help page (Export contacts) is wrong: by dragging the window contacts contacts on the desktop doesn't create any kind of file. In version 12 and 15, this produces a vCard (.vcf) file for each contact, but not in the version 14 (WLMail) 2009.

Windows Live Mail has its own support at the Windows Live Solution Centerforums. Please address any other question you may have on one of the forums on the right side of this page. You are probably asked to give your version of WLMail and Windows so that the answer may be more accurate. In WLMail to find your version of the software, a press on ALT - H. If it doesn't show you the version and the build number, press on escape to two times, and then Alt - F B.

  • Cannot delete messages in Windows Live Mail after returning from 10 of Windows to Windows 7

    Separated from this thread.

Hello. Want to jump in here even if it is an old thread. I have the same problem and have tried all the suggestions, my problem actually started when I upgraded to my wife and many win 10 is not ready for the change, so I'm back to Win 7 Home Premium. I contacted Ms. Tech Chat and was told to uninstall Windows 7 to "perhaps" to solve the problem. This is not acceptable. Everyone has to come with a fix or work around.

Want to jump in here even if it is an old thread.

It is rarely a good idea. If the solution has not worked, it is always best to use the option to ask a question on the menu to participate to start your own thread. There are so many variables involved that universal solutions are difficult to find. This is especially true when the title of the thread in the validation is not specific. For example, you also see a reading UID store failederror message?

    I have the same problem...

    I doubt it, because...

... my problem actually started when I upgraded to win 10 and... returned to Win 7

It's a completely different scenario that could not arise last May when the thread you posted in was up-to-date.

It seems that many of those who go back to Windows 7 from Windows 10 experience a corruption of the store folder (the folder where messages, calendars and the account settings are stored). According to your storage folder is how complex (several accounts, calendars a lot, a lot of messages number of files), it can be simpler to just create a new storage folder and fills again:

    1. Looking at your list of messages in Windows Live Mail, press Ctrl-Shift-O for Options. On the Advanced tab, click Maintenance and then store the file. Copy the path to locate the storage folder.
    2. Close Windows Live Mail and wait a few minutes (the program will continue to run in the background, while he does his household).
    3. Press the Windows key + E to open an Explorer window, and then paste or type the path that you copied to the (1) in the address bar and press ENTER. This should open your storage folder.
    4. Right-click on the name of the folder in the navigation pane, and select Rename. Call the Live Mail Backup.
    5. A repair must check that all the program files are present and correct and properly registered, as appropriate. To do this, close all running programs, and then press Windows key + R, type wlarp and press ENTER. In the window that opens, select repair all Windows Essentials programs:

When it is finished, restart the computer.
    1. Start Windows Live Mail and wait the program installs before doing anything. Press Ctrl-Shift-T to start the add your Assistant e-mail accounts and follow the prompts to add your e-mail accounts.
    2. Click once on the work online on the status bar and deconnecter disconnect Internet to avoid interference email downloads, and then use the file > import messages (I Alt - F) and point the wizard to the Live Mail Backup folder level. Do not intervene while the import happens.
    3. Leave the program alone for a while (an hour or two, or even a night or more) to enable him to reindex all your messages, then close and wait half an hour for the program to do his household.
    4. Relaunch the program and look at your messages under folder imported into storage folders. Take it slow, drag files out of any folder and drop in the location you want. Again, give the program time to re - indexing messages in their new location.

Note that you can not drag files out of storage files. If you want to forward messages to a high plu account folder in the folders pane, you need to select messages to transfer, and then use the right click > move or copy folder. The controls are also available as buttons in the folders of the Ribbon tab.

  • Facebook messages gel windows live mail

I'm having the same problems with messages, Facebook, windows live mail from freezing.  It seems that microsoft may have these problems for decades yet, so could you tell me how to connect to Tech. in China, which are far more advanced and faster to solve the problems of this kind.  Or you could replace my system to windows 7 with one that doesn't have this problem, because that's what I paid, I'll send you my system you can see the problem at first hand, your home.

It's rather funny that blame you Microsoft for the fact that Facebook is in shape his e-mails, as they are not complying with the standards of the internet.  Somehow it's Microsoft's fault for the bug of Facebook?  It's hilarious.

Workaround for the bug of Facebook is to read their messages in plain text only and which will crash then no Microsoft bug of Facebook program.

  • How to find which version of Windows Live Mail I have?

The death of my last computer, my beloved Outlook Express died with him.  I was shocked to know that I had to have Windows Live Mail and he did not support by e-mail.  I'm still scratching my head trying to understand why they would take it away from us when WLM is supposed to be better than OE but can't get a response from Microsoft on this one here.  Best buy got Thunderbird a stationery, but I couldn't use it with Windows 7.  So for two years, I didn't have a paper mill.  I recently discovered that I have Thunderbird on Windows 7, I installed it and have all the stationery that I could wish.  However, for ease of use and the folder options I prefer WLM.  Now, someone just told me that WLM 9 supports HTML for stationery.  By that, I mean like in Thunderbird, I can pull up a 'file', (an image or picture) to My Documents or my pictures in a new e-mail message and use it as stationery and can I download WLM 9 and remove WLM 11.

Firstly, I bought my computer in 2012 so I guess I have WLM 11, but I can't find out how to know which version I.  Does anyone know how to find out who?

In addition, WLM 11 doesn't have a lot of stuff that's not WLM 9?  I would make a big mistake by changing from 11 to 9?  How can ensure me that all my information is changed in the course of 9?

Any advice would be appreciated.  I really, really enjoy my stationery in Thunderbird, but it save me a step if I could do it in WLM instead to run two programs of stationery.

    Thank you.

Certainly, you do not have Windows Live Mail. It is quite
    as an option.

and he has not supported by email.

    He certainly fact e-mail support.

You have the choice of many e-mail programs, some by Microsoft and some
by others, some free and others for sale. As far as I am
concerned, Windows Live Mail is not a very good choice and there is
many of the better ones. I recommend that you try several and choose the
    the one that you prefer.

  • You want to CANCEL Windows Live Mail Initiation and remove it from my computer.

Start Windows Live Mail to see what 'new' services it was available.  She TOOK over MY COMPUTER, copied/converted all my e-mail folders to in its files and formats. (Fortunately it seems to have left my files of such ordinary Windows Messaging what.)  I don't see anything new he worth having, format is less than plain Windows Mail - more spread out, more junk to eliminate through to get to what I need.

I so WANT to CANCEL THE 'CONVERSION', REMOVE THE (duplicate SPACE GASPILLER) FILES IT CREATED AND THEN REMOVE ALL TRACES OF WINDOWS LIVE (all THE COMPONENTS) OF MY COMPUTER.  HOW CAN I DO THIS WITHOUT > WITHOUT< damaging="" my="" original="" plain="" windows="" mail="" folders,="" emails,="" contacts,="" accounts="" etc.="">

To uninstall Windows Live Mail (WLM)...
Start button > Control Panel > Classic view > Porgrams and features (or Add and Remove) > scroll to find Mindows Live Essentials, right-click, click UNINSTALL > follow the instructions from there.

    Note: you can check if
1.) your contact lists are the same in WLM and WM. If this isn't the case, you will need to save it in csv.
2.) you want to keep the WLM email messages. (If you "leave a copy of messages on the server" turned on, so you have no question there).

If you like and you don't know how, please post back.
