How gracefully Shutdown and system UCS C240 Powerup

Hi all

I have a power outage scheduled to come in the next two weeks where the data center goes out for a day. I recently deployed some UCS C240 standalone chassis in the data center and I would like to know what the best way of gracefully shutdown and power of these chassis.

Thanks in advance!

Danny

Danny,

If this is the case, you can configure power restore Polcy to "Power Off".

  • How to format everything on UCS C240

    Hello

After we finish of PoC, customers want format all hard disks.

Is there anyway that we can do?

We have 2 SSD, 6SAS disks.

The OS was also ESXI 5.5

I was trying to find a command on ESXI, however, I could not.

Can someone tell me how to format all disks on this platform?

    Thank you.

    Jiyoung,

As far as I know there are 2 different ways to achieve this.

    1. If the C series is integrated with UCSM, just create a strategy of scrub in the SP connected to the server and set it to YES. then restart the server and as soon as the discovery is completed. Dissociate the SP from the server and will lead policy scrub clean the hard drives.

    2. If the C series is a Rack Mount. Just remove or change the configuration of any other Raid Raid # except the one you already have. So who will wipe all the information stored in the hard disks.

  • How to set system.view and system.anonymous

I want to install backup software and it says backup operator must have privileges system.view and system.anonymous (among others).  I am in the VC and cannot find these privileges anywhere.  I looked everywhere on the web and the Vmware communities and I find a lot of evidence that it but I found nowhere how it gets the value.  Where/how do you attribute these privileges?

You are right, that the privilege system group is not visible in the VC.

These privileges are used «...» to read some of the properties of some managed objects"according to 154 p SDK Programming Guide .

This explains why they are not visible in the VC.

On the other hand, all the roles that are predefined in the VI contain three system privileges (anonymous, reading and display).

If you create a new role in the VC three system privileges are automatically added to the privileges.

    ===========================================

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

It is not recommended to install antivirus on Mac applications unless you want a computer unstable and crashing. OS X is extremely secure and must be kept up-to-date to stay. • Satellite L650D - 10 H - how to recover the system?

    Nice day

Today my OS on my laptop has been altered, he told me to restore my system. Windows recovery program does not work, every reboot of the same corrupted file. So I tried the vista edition Windows Home premium 64 bit dvd of my brother. Changed the options in BIOS and boot from there, but it took about 20 minutes to start the installer with the language menu.

I noticed that the lamp 'written on the hard disk' shines all the time and from time to time the HARD drive is not listed in my BIOS. Maybe my HARD disk is damaged?

Now my question is, how to restore the system or to stand up a new OS? What can I do to get my laptop still running? Where to send and what costs?

best regards and thanks for any help
    oxxxe

Edit: now the hard drive is still listed in the bios

    Post edited by: oxxxe

    Hi oxxxe,

Generally you can restore the factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disc. Have you created this disk?

In General, if the HARD disk does not appear in the BIOS from time to time, it seems to be a malfunction of the HARD drive and it should be changed.
If your laptop is under warranty, an ASP may fix this problem for free. A list of all the authorized service provider, you can find on the Web from Toshiba site.
