[How] Have the physical address of the ethernet address of the host = virtual computer?

Is it possible to have the physical address of the Ethernet card on the virtual machine to the physical address of the host? (how?).

Thank you.

It is in fact of Workstation 4.5, but I guess he has not moved in the new version:

  • How have the Linux database server listener listen to the service in the Net of Windows XP Client Manager?

    People,

    Hello. I installed Oracle 11 GR 2 database server in the Oracle Linux 5 operating system.
    All customers (NetCA, DBCA, GROUND Deveoper, sqlplus...) works properly on the database server. The LISTENER_PT853 listener is listening on client tools under Linux successfully.

    I also installed Oracle database Client(SQL Developer, NetMgr, NetCA, sqlplus,...) in Windows XP. So that the client tools to connect to the database on Linux server, the listener in Linux must be tuned to the service in Windows XP.

    In Oracle Linux 5 Server Machine Net Manager:

    Service name: PT853
    Connection type: default database
    "TCP/IP Protocol".
    Host name: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    Listener: LISTENER_PT853
    Protocol: TCP/IP
    Host: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    I have test the Service PT853 with "SYS" username and password "SYS." The connection is successful.

    In the Windows XP Client computer, the information in the Net Manager is lower at:

    Service name: PT853_Linux
    Protocol: TCP/IP
    The host of the database Machine name: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    I test the connection by using "SYS" username and password "SYS" and got this error: ORA - 12514:TNS: listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor. There may be an error in the input fields or server may be ready to connect.

    Can I check the status of the listener in Linux Server machine as below:

    [user@localhost bin] $. / lsnrctl status LISTENER_PT853

    Its release: Service PT853 has 1 instance. PT853 of the Forum, State LOAN, has 1 handler for this service.

    Foregoing, we saw the listener in the Linux server machine only to listen to the PT853 service in Linux but not to listen to the service PT853_linux of the Windows XP client computer.

    Windows XP (192.168.196.101) and Linux (192.168.196.102) can ping each other successfully. So that client tools in Windows XP connection in Server database on Linux, the listener in Linux need to listen to on the service in Windows XP first.

    In Net Linux Manager, I add an address more (TCP/IP, 192.168.196.101, PORT 1521) to LISTENER_PT853, but gets the error.

    My question is:

    How have the Linux database server listener listen to the service in the Net of Windows XP Client Manager?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi you ave create listener.ora.

    Actually, no he didn't "need to create listner.ora.

    In fact, its problems stem from the fact that it * has * created one instead of letting some things by default.

    I give an example of my environment

    [oracle@home ~] $ cd /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/

    [oracle@home admin] $ cat listener.ora

    listener.ora # Network Configuration file: /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/listener.ora

    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    LISTENER =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP (PORT = 1522))(HOST = home.test.al))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl.test.al)

    )

    )

    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = / home/oracle/app/oracle

    [oracle@home admin] $

    Change host, name of service depending on your environment. Your port is 1521.

    Then, first run all the listener and database startup. If you do the opposite, with that you will need to register the service change the order of system registry.

  • How have the guest OS disk cleaning disc space come on for the host operating system hard drive?

    People,

    Hello. I use VM Player 3. The OS is Windows 7. Guset OS is Windows Server 2003.

    Because the host OS Windows 7 C drive is nearly full, I need disk cleanup for drive space in Guset OS Windows Server 2003.

    Guest OS Windows Server 2003 VM hard drive parameters:

    Size current 92.5 GB,

    Maximum size of 150 GB.

    I use Disk Cleanup tool to clean C:\Document and Settings\Temp\ and temporary Internet Files\ administrator to get 32 GB of disk space. Now my computer in Windows Server 2003:

    Used space: 59.2 GB

    86.2 GB of free space

    145GB total space

    But when I check again Windows Server 2003 VM hard drive settings, its current size is 92.5 GB and is not afraid to 59.2 GB after cleaning. Host operating system Windows 7 disc does not come more disk space after cleaning.

    My Player VM VM-> settings is not a function of "Shrink" and the program does not "vmware - vdiskmanager.exe" file to run the function of 'shrink '.

    My question is:

    How to get the approximately 32 GB (92, 5-59, 2 GB) of disk space happen on Windows Server 2003 VM settings and drive hard host operating system Windows 7?

    Thank you.

    People,

    Hello. VMware Tools has tab Shrink to reduce the virtual disk. But the free disk space hard host should be larger that the size of the virtual disk you are reduced to shrink.

    The problem is solved by myself. Thank you.

  • How to make a thin app to host on the guest virtual computer

    How can I run the host on the guest computer thinApp?  If I run on the host computer thinApp will not just take a snapshot of the host?  How to use a virtual machine created by workstation to run?

    Another part to this question is, if the initial snapshot has already application thinApp on the computer and/or other programs so theoretically, they should not be included in the compilation, right?

    That is right.  In this scenario, your package will work only if the same version of Java is installed in the same way on your target machines.  It's OK in my opinion if your environment had a solid a standard desktop where you can count on this version of Java to be present already.  Tests to ensure it works of course are always recommended before going to production.

    You lose some of the benefits of application virtualization because all dependencies are not encapsulated more.  The compromise is that this package could break down the road if Java changes on your workstations.  Each environment is different, so it is up to you.

  • The unreliable virtual computer network connectivity

    Hello

    We had the rest of Setup that worked for more than a year without problem.

    Three ESX hosts with 20 VMS with ESX 3.5.0,176894

    Since last week, we have a problem with a virtual machine us were imported initially from a physical machine about a year ago.

    We will apply the updates on ESX hosts on a regular basis, maybe the problem must be something with the updates.

    VMWare Tools are up-to-date on all virtual machines.

    A virtual machine, called IKARUS (Windows Server 2000 SP4) is perfectly pingeable of other virtual machines on the same host but very insensitive if ping virtual machines on physical machines or other hosts.

    Move the virtual machine to another host doesn't change anything about this behavior.

    Other virtual machines have not had the problem.

    Anyome has an idea, what could be the problem and how to overcome this problem.

    Rgds

    Hello

    I think that you will need to focus on the virtual machine itself and, possibly, your physical network components.

    A possible field of study is your mac physical switch table limit.

    I would look in the machine virtual Windows updates that affect the denial of service areas. Somtimes there is change of limit for syn issue receipts within a specific time etc..

    It wouldn't hurt to uninstall and reinstall the form of the adapter in the instance of the VM OS quickly sets in method.

    Kind regards

  • Value host virtual computer and custom Annotation of the host list

    I'm trying to find the fastest way to do the following:

    1. Return the list of virtual machines in a ResourcePool.
    2. For each virtual machine, select the host it runs on and...
    3. for each host, select the value for a field in custom Annotation called 'location '.

    I have this code to work, but it takes forever to run:

    Get-VM-location (Get-ResourcePool-name TestPool) | Select Name, @{N = 'Host'; {E = {Get-VMHost - VM $_}}, @{N = 'Place'; E = {Get-VMHost - VM $_______ |} Get-Annotation CustomAttribute - Location}}

    The above code returns something like this:

    Name Host Location
    VM1Host1Site-a.
    VM2Host1Site-a.
    VM3Host2Site-B

    Is there a faster way to get this info, perhaps with a view?

    Try like this

    $rpName = "MyResourcePool".

    $si = get-view ServiceInstance

    $caMgr is get-view-Id $si. Content.customFieldsManager

    $key = $caMgr.Field | where {$_.} ManagedObjectType - eq "HostSystem" - and $_. Name - eq 'Rental'} |

    Select the key - ExpandProperty

    $rp = get-View - ViewType ResourcePool-filter @{' Name'= "^ $($rpName) ' $ '"}

    $rp | % {Get-View-Id $_.} VM} |

    Select Name,

    @{N = 'Host'; E = {$script: esx = Get-view-Id $_.} Runtime.Host - name of the property, CustomValue; $script: esx | {{Select - ExpandProperty name}}.

    @{N = "Position"; E = {$script: esx.} CustomValue | where {$_.} Key - eq $key} | {{Select - ExpandProperty value}}.

    @{N = "Datastore"; E = {}

    ($_. Storage.PerDatastoreUsage | %{

  • Comparing the use of the data store for the use of the disk on the server virtual computer: Match is not

    I'm a bit confused and could use clarification of a person.

    I'm looking to a virtual machine through the vSphere Client and it has an alert telling me that my free space data store is low. 17.55 free GB of 134,75 GB total capacity. I'm running ESX 4.0 for the host and my VM running Server 2008.

    I'm confused because when I connect to the virtual computer and check the use of disk in my computer, it does not reflect what vSphere tells me. This particlular VM is little used and the use of the disk under windows is very very low. About 20 GB.

    Can someone tell me why these numbers are not matching? I have other virtual machines that are in the same situation.

    Thank you

    Blake

    I think that you may be mixing two things up, the vSphere client will only warn about the data store, the VMFS volume, you have created and presented to ESX. You then create a VMDK file for your Virtual Machine to use. If you assign more than 80% of your data store to a VMDK or several VMDK then the customer will report a warning on its use. WARNING 80% 90% critical even if inside each VMDK file you may be using only a couple of GB.

    If you give a little more detail on the virtual machine and the data store, we should be able to get out.

    Hope this helps,

    Dan

    I am new to action script 3, please be nice.

    One way would be to have a conditional that tests takes actions according to which frame the file is currently in.

    Another way would be to remove the listener for the keyboard for the first feature and add a new keyboard listener when you want different features.

  • CF 9.0.1 Solr does not have the Java virtual machine path

    As part of the security of some of our machines for use of DoD, need to maintain the versions of Java.  To do this, we install the latest JDK and use the server settings > Java and JVM > Machine way Java virtual to then tell CF to use it.  We have done this since CF4 without any problems and when we moved to CF6 + we continued the process, but also after having what we then delete the folder of jre in runtime folder leave the CF is. Well I have just the program installation and installed my first CF9 + Win 2008 R2 server and after doing this the Solr service does not start.  This had me so dig in its folder structure and it has its own folder of the jre in its folder structure as well.  But using Sysinternals Process Monitor, I can see the service Solr uses NOT the folder of the jre from the inside it of own structure but is actually going up and 'try' to use the runtime\jre folder that I have deleted so it causes the service to fail.  I can actually delete the solr\jre folder as long as the runtime\jre folder exist.

    There are so many problems with this.

    • SOLR has yet another installation of Java within itself
    • SOLR does not use its own Java, even if there is a copy it
    • SOLR does not respect the setting Java VM path together

    Adobe has responded to my bug with the location of the solr configuration variable to point to the external JAVA virtual machine.

    ColdFusion9\solr\solr.lax

    Lax.nl.currentvm = JVM_PATH

    It seems to work properly until now.

    Hi Rocky,

    In the main menu, select 'Virtual Machine'-> 'USB and Bluetooth'-> 'USB & Bluetooth settings' and then change the setting in the "Action of the Plugin" column for your device in what you want it to do.

  • HDD not getting detected on the host virtual esxi nested 5.5

    Hi all

    on my home office, I installed ESXi on bare metal on USB. From a laptop computer, I was able to connect to it. I created an esxi embedded and followed

    Howto: create a nested laboratory However, it did not help.

    On the bare metal Office the esxi is able to recognize the network and it works fine.

    The nested esxi is not abkle to see the hard drive. Anu suggestions?

    Thank you

    ESXi you selected as the operating system for the nested host? What model of HARD disk controller is used for one or more hosts that are nested.

  • Is it possible to interact with the guest virtual computer console using PowerCLI?

    I'm trying to automate the installation of Linux on the ESXi systems.  Installing Linux is all from the command line.  Is there a way that I can interact with the console or shell comments VM using PowerCLI?

    In my view, customization works only with officially listed linux distributions.

  • Script to remove 30 days turned off of the guest virtual computer in vCenter automatically and the user on this subject by e-mail

    Hi all

    I'm looking for a script that can automatically remove power vm comments which have been stopped for more than 30 days off. Now I'm under this

    $IgnoredVMs = "windows7."

    $vms = get - VM | Name - descending sort

    foreach ($vm to $vms)

    {

    $DecommedVMs = ($vm |) Where {$_.} PowerState - eq "PoweredOff"} | Where {$_.} Name - notmatch $IgnoredVMs} | Select Name, LastPoweredOffDate). Sort - Object - property LastPoweredOffDate)

    }

    and then I run it manually

    Remove-vm $DecommedVMs - deletepermanently

    Things, it is that I have more than 1000 comments vm in my environment and we create & many virtual shutdown invited every day. And since we have a retention period of 30 days per vm we cannot remove them as soon as they stop. So I'm looking for a script that verifies any vm guest that is off for more than 30 days and remove them automatically automatically and e-mail user guest vm is eliminated.

    Thank you

    Rama

    Try something like this

    $vms = Get-VM | where {$_.PowerState -eq "PoweredOff"}$vmPoweredOff = $vms | %{$_.Name}$events = Get-VIEvent -Start (Get-Date).AddDays(-30) -Entity $vms |   where{$_.FullFormattedMessage -like "*is powered off"}$lastMonthVM = $events | %{$_.Vm.Name}$moreThan1Month = $vmPoweredOff | where {!($lastMonthVM -contains $_)}

    $moreThan1Month | Remove-VM -DeletePermanently -Confirm:$false$vmNames = $moreThan1Month | Select -ExpandProperty Name

    Send-MailMessage -From [email protected] -To [email protected] -SmtpServer [email protected] `-Subject "Removed $($moreThan1Month.Count) VM" -Body ($vmNames | Out-String)

  • Is it possible to have the show number email unread for just an email address?

    Hello world

    I have 2 addresses - email my gmail address that I use for "undesirable" (coupons, FB, etc.) and my me.com address that I use for the things that I really need to see.  I want to have both accessible through the mail on my iPhone app, but if possible I would rather than the 'me' unread address emails show the Red number on the icon.  I have a hundred of thousands of emails unread in my gmail Inbox, in order to have this mixed number tells me nothing.

    I know that I can click in the app and see the unreads account.  If it comes down to it, I'll just cut the number of unread icon.  But I thought I'd see if anyone here knows if/how have the icon app unreads show an account can be done.

    Thank you!

    Application settings > Notifications > Mail. You should see each account with the ability to set notifications for each.

  • When is it more logical to have the physical vCenter Server?

    I know a vCenter server can be virtual, and works well in smaller environments (3-5-hosts, in VM 50 to 75)... I was wondering what is the general rule for when it makes more sense to have the physical vCenter server... I ask because I work there where there are 23 hosts, with 225 VM location (close to 80 who are seen VM)... Currently the vCenter Server is physical. It connects to a virtual computer for the SQL database, which works pretty well... I think that in its environment could work just as well as a virtual machine.

    I just want to see what people generally find configurations. When you keep the Server vCenter as physics? What is the real world results? We have a few strong enough host, as well as solid EMC (fiber channel connected) storage servers, etc...

    PEACE!

    have your DB on a separate server allows the passage of physical to virtual so much easier.  After all, you will use the same PB.  Stop the physical area, save your DB, installing vCenter on a virtual computer and use existing DB...

    You can also make a copy of the SSL directory on the host OS old vCenter.  And for good measure, take note of the ID Unique vCenter server:
