How keeping open in a new tab; TelevisionFanatic forever?
Whenever I open a new tab, TelevisionFanatic is here. Go away, forever. Thank you.
When you launch a new tab, you get a Web page on a site of TV fanatic? Normally, the only way to replace the new Firefox tab page is an extension.
You can view, turn off and often remove unwanted extensions or unknowns on the page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a (Mac: command + shift + a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right side. All extensions are optional. When in doubt, turn off.
Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
Any improvement?

I do not do anything. I just read that a web page and a new tab will be opened with this video game. Any idea what's going on here?
It cannot be the cause of your immediate problem, but I suggest strongly that you disable/remove your plug-in popular screensavers - a part of the troublesome MindSpark family.

I just created my bookmarks bar with my URL more often used. However when I click on a URL of my toolbar bookmark, it opens in a sidebar on the left on my main screen and not in a new tab. The sidebar is heavy, because I have to scroll to see the entire screen. How can I get the URL to open in a new tab, not in the sidebar?
Opening in the sidebar is the default action for bookmarks created via a "Mark this Page" link or button on a Web site. Make sure you use many methods to "Bookmark this Page" located in Firefox instead.
Right-click on the bookmark and select Properties, then turn off the preference for the load this bookmark in the sidebar, and then click Save.

Firefox keeps opening links and new tab
During the navigation, if I long - click on a hyperlink and select "Open in new tab" in the menu that follows, even if it opens the tab it also follows the hyperlink in the source tab. How do you prevent to open the link in my active tab?
Sorry, this seems to be a problem on some pages having the scripts associated with the links. Workaround in a previous thread (for Gizmodo) was to drag your finger down a line or two when the menu appears so that when you lift your finger is not on any link. How to open links in new tabs in a new tab directly right? (the default beheviour)
I installed this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tree-style-tab/ and changed my settings tab. I preferred Firefox as it was where, if I right click on a link and select open in new tab, it opens it * right next to * the active tab. Now, they all open at the end of the tabs, and when I close the tab its won't come back to the tab I was on. I removed the addon and it broke again.

Clicking on a .gif file does save or save as. How to open in a new tab?

For example, when I enter the search term "cabinets" and get a page/tab search results with suggestions such as Sears, JCPenney, or Amazon, I want to be able to click on Sears and open the Sears page in a new tab/page. I want to be able to close the tab to Sears and use the search results tab.
Google offers a framework for this. What it does, it adds a HTML (target = "blank") statement to every result link, which causes Firefox to open in a new tab. If you uncheck the preference to divert new windows in new tabs, Firefox will then open the result in a new separate window.
This preference is stored in a cookie, if you clear your Google cookies often, so you'll need to reset every time. You can do so here:
https://www.Google.com/preferences
(On this page, Google refers to a new window.)

Open in a new tab or window does not work. How can I fix?
I just upgraded to 36.01. When I right click on a link in the menu of options is long and confusing. When I select open in a new tab or a new window, it does nothing. What can I do to reduce the list of options and how to fix him open a new tab or window option?
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.
See "create a profile":
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.
Try a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
- Download the full Firefox installation program and save the file to the desktop
https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all/
If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.
- Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.
If you keep problems also create a new profile.
Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.

How to set default to open in a new tab?
It was when I clicked on a bookmark, a new tab was opened. I did something, but do not know what, so now he opens in a kind of bar on the side of the thing (a smaller part of the tab, I was on). How to reset the bookmark to always open in a new tab without having to do it manually with a right/select click?
«... now it opens in a sidebar...» »
Open the properties for this bookmark and uncheck load this bookmark in the sidebar.
As much as to have bookmarks always open in a new tab - see the extension mentioned in the first answer.

The question just about everything said. In the past, if I right click on a link and choose open in a new tab when I went back to splash page focus would be on the link. So if I then did a page down it would begin from the link. Now it starts, usually further towards the top of the page, so I end up back on the same thing. I would go back to the way it was, how can I do this?
Running Firefox version 32.0.2.
It seems that the culprit was a setting in Tab Mix Plus. In Options > events > tabs > content emphasis during loading non-empty page has not been verified. When checked, Firefox works as expected. At least as expected by me.

- browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground - if true, bookmarks that open in a new tab will not fly goal
- browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground - load the new tab in the background, leaving to focus on the current tab if it is true
