  I fixed most of my problems of

  -Restore W7 to the 07/01/16 mode without failure and update of the manual setting W.

  -Go back to Firefox 32, with no updates

  -find something new called firewall W features advanced security and made some slash and burn allowing in there

  That's all the misfortunes of weird denied permissions disappeared. I guess I'll stay frozen in time until I get a real solution to all this new protocol permissions I lock the...

  I got a new laptop with Windows 7 above. I have a printer Canon BJC-85. Yes it's old. I need the printer drivers for Windows 7. I connected the printer to the laptop but nothing happens.

  Canon BJC-85 drivers & downloads page has only drivers for Windows XP and earlier versions.  It is probably not possible to use the printer with Windows 7 (or Windows Vista).   :-(

  I need to install the driver "HP Officejet 7200 series" on a computer that doesn't have any HP 7210 printer attached.

  So my question is how can I just get and install the driver named "HP Officejet 7200 series?

  I tried the HP driver downloads over my original driver CD, but none of them seem no driver to install because I have not the printer is connected to the machine. All I want is to end up with the appropriate driver "HP OfficeJet 7200 series" available in the "Add a printer" dialog box Windows XP.

  Before anyone suggests it, I can not temporarily attach the printer to the remote computer because they are 50 miles away

  Overwhelmed by the response here, I managed to find a solution to this and I post here in case others find it useful.

  The trick is to realize you need a local driver and a driver from a distance that are the same. But there is no need for the 7210 driver.

  I found that the driver DeskJet990C Windows by default "Add a printer" dialog has worked well.

  With the help of first installation on the local machine, using the same port that the 7210 already installed. Set up and print a test page to make sure it works.

  Then, install the same driver on the remote computer. Simply choose any local port.

  Then start a new remote session and the printer should appear as a deskjet 990c and impression of the remote computer should work.

  Recently installed Windows 7 64 bit on my new i7 computer.    Incredibly FAST.   I use the Autodesk REVIT 3D construction modeling program.   Make a model of quality higher on my old core 2 duo would take almost an hour.   With the 64 bit on i7 with 3 GB of ram and graphics card same OS, same rendering would take a little more than 1 minute!

If they do not (or do not exist), your only recourse is to get hold of the gun and see if they have plans to write drivers for these printers (or to replace the printer or the operating system). The mftr material. is the * only * person who will do that, not the creator of the operating system that you use (Windows). All hardware drivers that come with Vista and Win7 were written by mftrs of various materials. and provided to Microsoft for inclusion.   There was an old post and now it seems closed. I update my DV6500Z again to Windows 7. It worked fine for months and then I lost sound, so I decided to start over.   I uninstalled NVIDIA drivers very well using Control Panel - program & features. Now, I found scan driver is no longer available. Device Manager indicates that I will use a standard vga adapter. Should I just go ahead and add the nvidia chip and then get the nvidia drivers or do I let more fragments, which will cause problems?

  I just got my CM1312 MFP works in Windows 7.  Here's how:

  1. Insert the disk into your CD/DVD drive.  Choose to display the files in the Explorer.  Scroll down the "Setup" file, which is identified as an application.
  2. Right click on the file and select "Properties". Click the 'Compatibility' tab at the top of the window that appears.
  3. Check ' run this program in compatibility mode for: "and select"Windows Vista"in the context menu.
  4. ALSO check "Run this program as Administrator" at the bottom of the window.
  5. Press 'Apply', then 'OK '.
  You can now double-click the "Setup" file and run the software installation program.

  The printer would not automatically install for me, understandable with a beta os.  The HP install disk refused to run on a system not recognized, so I had to run the installer in compatibility mode.

  For interested people, Windows 7 works great for me on a system of 3 years (Pentium D with 1 GB ram.  I'm even using the x 64 version.
